Once installed, the locking mechanism does not lock nor does the spacer provide align well. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone as the material was designed poorly. I've attempted to lock it from both ends and it does not lock at all. I don't recommend this product to anyone nor is it work the effort for a security measure.

This was last & perfect lock we needed for our pool area & it's not working. It seems to be jamming in the main mechanism that prevents the magnetic lock from locking or the locking bar to move back into place. I have stripped the treads now taking it on & off trying to fix it. Our pool inspection today & now we will not get it due to poor quality. Very Disappointing.

Purchased a couple months ago. I wouldn’t buy it again or recommend this to anyone. There is something wrong with the locking mechanism, feels very cheap and it’s a struggle to lock it, currently not locking. Very disappointed in the product. The push button on the back of the handle sometimes won’t release and the handle doesn’t always properly closed. Wouldn’t recommend, not worth the hassle of installing it and having to change after only a few months.
Good Latch, needs to be refined. There needs to be more information in terms of measurements. The latching mechanism requires a bit of modification to not get stuck. The instructions state you need to drill a 13mm hole for the barrel to fit, that hole needs to be >14mm due to movement of the barrel.
Great lock, no problems so far. Works well if instructions are followed properly. I suspect a lot of the bad reviews are due to incorrect installations. However, I did have a problem with the lock that initially stopped it working at all. The spring loaded sliding mechanism inside the lock was stuck to one side so would not engage with the locking bar. The sliding mechanism just had to be pushed lose. From the reviews I have read it seems others have had this problem too but didn't know how to fix it. Rang the D&D support line and they were very helpful in advising how to resolve the issue.
We had a lot of difficulties installing it. So much so that there had to be an internal problem. The handle simply wasn’t moving the locking bar.Opened it up and through slow examination I discovered that it wasn’t assembled properly. The most likely reason for this is that we had it re-keyed and I’d wager that the locksmith didn’t reassemble it properlyI’ve read a lot of bad reviews, and I wonder how many were a result of the locksmith wrongly reassembling the unit.I reinstalled it after reassembly and it works great
Same as everyone else, I too had locking issues and experienced the failing plastic locking mechanism. I added some foam washers around the barrell and ensured the lock rod was a few mm longer than they suggested. Mechanism works perfectly now and would be happy to assist anyone to get it working.
Creates a firm connection between the gate and the post. I bought this as my colourbond driveway gate was like a sail in the wind. Very happy with the purchase. Installation instruction booklet is not great, refer to the video instead. Recommend you use a very fine point permanent marker, punch, and pre drill holes.
We really regret getting lock despites having read through all the reviews. Took my husband over 3 hours to install. It is not intuitive and we had all the tools. He had to remove everything and reinstalled again and even though it's 'working' now, we wouldn't recommend at all, especially for the price. The handle is stiff and the spring on the inside doesn't seem to spring as much, making it extremely difficult to open and close, especially from tbe outside. Not helpful when you have a toddler and groceries to carry. Can't imagine how frustrated I'd get when it rains and we're trying to get past an unlocked gate.
