I bought this router an year ago and have moved it across three states and 2 different ISPs. The overarching and persistent issue with this router has been the constant dropouts of Wifi irrespective of the 2.4 or 5Ghz setting. It is not fixed by firmware upgrades nor proximity to the actual router. Not an isolated issue as you can do a cursory google search and find terrible reviews mentioning the same problem. I did not face the setup issues that some other customers had but any advantage this product has is easily overshadowed by its flaws. Would not recommend the 3785 at any price point.

The modem was simple to setup but I immediately noticed that it kept dropping the internet connection every few minutes and would reconnect. Speeds were also slower than what I normally get at my place (both via Wifi and Ethernet). Several calls with my ISP later I decided to update the firmware following the manufacturers instructions. The firmware update completed successfully but it broke the admin interface (loads of Javascript errors). By the 3rd day I went and bought a NETGEAR modem - installed in minutes and worked perfectly. Will never buy D-Link again.

I bought this a few months ago when I got NBN Fibre to the premises installed. Took a bit of a battle through the Modems software interface to get it working but once up and running its pretty steady. Like most D-Link products, usally have to reboot it several times a week. The Wifi is solid but the ethernet connection was surprisingly slow in terms of latency and upload download speeds. In the end it wasn't the hardware but I discovered in the modems software, it continually was shifting the IP addresses of various devices connected to it which made remote desktop work difficult. Through trial and error I discovered by assigning a specific IP address to the ethernet connect device it resolved it and im now getting proper Upload download and Latency results. The ... MoreI bought this a few months ago when I got NBN Fibre to the premises installed. Required the router to connect to Tangerine NBN. Informed the sales officer that it also need to support phone calls. This product was recommended. Installation was quite easy but I had to stepped through it by Tangerine, it doesn't support VOIP so it appears the sales officer misunderstood my requirement. It does support SWAN Security wifi cameras.
I bought this modem to upgrade for working from home. It gave good speeds for WiFi connected devices, but barely worked at all for wired connections. D-Link exchanged it as faulty, but the replacement modem does the same thing. Wired speeds of around 12 megabytes an HOUR with wireless speeds of 18 megabyte a second. Useless except for wireless connections.
Bought this because I needed a replac.ent after NBN decided to require sos-roc and my old modem doesn't support itEven tho I am a qualified network engineer I was not able to get this to work based on the directions in the manual, or the manual online, I contacted their support three times and got three different answersUltimately I worked it out and it works but way too much stress for what this piece of junk does
Simple modem to setup with existing NBN FTN connection. All devices connected no worries, incl iphones, xbox one, apple tv, smart tv, android tablet and desk top. No issues. Dual band good for high streaming devices, so if your device recognises blth bands, put your lower use devices that you use for emails and a bit of banking on the lower 2.4ghz connection and your gaming and media streaming on the 5ghz connection.
Worked barely for the first month. Bought as an emergency replacement for a failed optus modem (death via power surge). Was ok once server connections were established but took forever to create new connections. Now 1 month later, no connection whatsoever. Useless piece of junk do not buy.
So my previous modem bit the dust after 9 years of use and I had to get a replacement I bought this modem and got it setup after not being able to for about a day. You'd thnk this would be it but no the internet speed was so sluggish and inconsistent you'd literally just give up and use 4g sometimes. The constant disconnecting from the wifi becomes less of an issue if you are very close to it but still remains very slow. The signal strength is so bad it can't get pass 2 walls so certain areas in my apartment literally have no wifi. This is simply unacceptable my dissapointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
Unfortunately this modem has lived up to the reviews that gave it a poor choice to purchase. Not long after my initial review it decided to stop working and was deemed faulty by D-Link tech support. Returned it back to the place of purchase and was able to swap it for a, 'hopefully' better one. Thank you again to the the team at HN Noarlunga SA with your help.
