I like J braid for its softness and smooth casting. I have the 6 lb on three of my ultralights. It casts amazingly far and is very sensitive. I have however had a difficult time with wind knots and breakage. I have fished extensively for 58 years and am not new to taking care to keep line tight on a spinning reel to prevent birds nests. It has not been a problem with the 8 lb it 10 lb but the 6 has proven to give me problems be it green, gray, or fluorescent green. It may be too soft.

Daiwa J-Braid Grand x8 Braided Line is awesome! I love the visibility of the color but most important how supple the line is. Spun it up on my new Okuma Ceymar 2500 and it casts like no other. The line comes right off the spool so smooth and never get spun up around the bail. Perfect.Jack
Very smooth. Casts exceptionally well. Holds a knot reasonably well. Seems less prone to kinking or wind knots. However, it seems to fray more quickly than other brands. Hence, looses strength more quickly. Have to keep a close eye on it for fraying. Relatively expensive.
I have been using the 0.06mm 11lb Daiwa J-Braid for 2 weeks now (4trips to the river) for long range trotting for grayling using 5g wire-stemmed floats, using an 11ft trotting rod. The braid has performed really well in all respects being smooth, very light, non-stretch and genuinely very fine in diameter with a nice soft olive green colour. long,check-free, trots have been effortless and tangle free.
Original 8 strand 8 & 10# test would snap on hooksets and fish fights which my fave Sufix 832 in the same #tests would never do.Took a chance on the promise of improved Izanas fiber used in the Grand and am pleasantly surprised. No more mystery breaks or wind knots of the original and the Grand is smoother and smaller diameter than 832 so casts noticeably farther in the same # tests.
