Bought the 6LB test for my 2000SS sized reel, super shallow spool so wanted something that can fill the spool without too much backing. The x4 line breaks much less and is more abrasion resistant than my sufix nanobraid at the same caliber. It has great color, the fluorescent yellow is extremely tracing in all conditions. Softness and castability are not hampered at a line so thin as well. So I'd say this is a top pick for ultralight applications.

I got the 10lb yellow j-braid. This is an extremely light feeling line but rugged enough for inshore fishing. Works great!

I have purchased two spools of j braid x4 and no issues this far. I run 300yds of 65# on my mxj and 300yds of 65# on my daiwa Sealine. I specifically choose x4 over x8 when I'm working in/around kelp so that if I get wrapped I can saw through and free my fish/jig. Strength is great, visibility is fantastic, and it casts great!
yellow-20lb, great casting and action on spinning reels for bay fishing. recommend by Guide.
I liked the x8 from Daiwa, but this x4 is stiffer and I find that the stiffness helped with my issues with wind knots. Great for casting lures and plugs. The color is perfect for offshore fishing as well!
I recently bought a couple of 150 yard spools of the 6lb hi-vis yellow for my ultralight spinning setups. This is amazing stuff! I absolutely love it. I get fantastic casting distance with 1/16 and 1/32 jig heads. On my first outing, I caught a 2.5 pound bass on my ultralight! I just wish I'd found this stuff sooner.
Great line to use for deep water jig n pig combo after dark. Works great with the black lights.
Spooled up my snapper reel with 20lb 4X to give it a try. I am a great fan of the j-braid 8X so wanted to see what the budget line is like.My impression is that it is thin, strong and supple... just a little stiffer than the 8X.Take this as a positive or negative: its NOISY!! Having used smooth quiet lines for a while I enjoyed the adrenaline pumping shreek shreek shreeking of a metre long snapper bolting toward the reef... similar sound to the old TD Sensor. This particular snapper drilled me in the reef but the j-braid 4X passed the abrasion test, Its strong. Conclusion: its not "cheap", its just different.
Smooth, tough, let me to throw long distancesis my favorite PE line
