Daiwa Legalis LT Spin Reel 3000D-C
Daiwa Legalis LT Spinning Reel - The 2021 Daiwa Legalis LT Spinning Reel features a LT body (light, yet tough) constructed from a carbon-based composite that is much lighter than conventional materials, yet very durable. The Air Rotor and Air Bail also contribute to a much greater strength to weight ratio, making the reels lighter and easier to handle without fatigue over the long course of a full day of fishing. Daiwa's innovative bail design features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. The Air Rotor features a smooth protrusion-free design and construction line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble free line control. Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that's come before, ‘Air Rotor' delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate reel sensitivity and rotational balance. Daiwa's Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up. Daiwa's first generation of digitally engineered gear design ensures a perfect mesh between ultra-tough drive gear and pinion gears for optimized speed, power, durability and smoothness. Daiwa's new handle design is slimmer, more compact, and 50% lighter.

I have not beat my Legalis 2500 a lot but it is smooth and with proper technique you can land decent size fish. Even though is not technically rated for salt water, I use it almost exclusively in the surf (no wading of course) to target Whiting, Snook, Pompano and the occasional Juvenile shark.

I have the 1000 size and have it paired with a 7ft dobyns sierra ultralight with 6lb j-braid grand. Amazing combo! I have caught 2 catfish on this reel while ultralight fishing and one of them was almost 8lbs!! the reel handled it perfectly. i have this reel and the Procyon and honestly this reel is smoother and noticeably better for half the price! highly recommend this reel!

Immediately upon receiving this reel, I was disappointed. It feels extremely cheap, flimsy, and it’s bail operation is atrocious. I bought if for a cheaper setup to keep in my truck, but this is just terrible.Trying to hope I was proved wrong, I took this out on my boat for a few trips and my suspicions were confirmed. The bail will flip closed mid-cast because it’s too flimsy to stay open. I fish mainly finesse-styles so it’s not like i’m out there hucking baits around as hard as I can. The drag is mediocre at best. The only thing this reel has going for it is that it’s light, due to the cheap material used.Do yourselves a favor, buy a Pflueger President for $10-20 less. I still have two Presidents, one over 5 years old, that not only weigh about the same, but ... MoreImmediately upon receiving this reel, I was disappointed. Sad that this was my first experience with Daiwa.

Fishing Online sore is awesome! Super smooth purchase. The reel was at my doorstep earlier than expected, by a day or so. Beautiful reel. Smooth as butter. My brother in law also ordered one but I the 3000 size. I ordered the 2500. Highly highly recommend you buy from Fishing Online. You will not be disappointed.
Purchased this reel 11/13/22. After fishing freshwater ponds 4 times in 2023 I've come to realize the drag is not holding. Even if tightened all the way. I am extremely disappointed that I have to pay for shipping to Daiwa to diagnose what the manufacturer defect is. No guarantee that I'll get a new reel of even have this issue fixed. Even if fixed or a new reel provided, I still have to pay for shipping.
Love these Legalis reels, best reel for the money at this price point in my opinion. They just feel nicer than the Shimanos in the same price bracket. I also have the 6000D for my rock fishing. Can't reccomend enough, you won't be disappointed.
I have a Regal 2000 and I wanted a 2500 or 3000 size reel. So I was going to get another Regal. But I found a Legalis on sale for less than what the Regal sells for. So I got it. No complaints. It is smooth and cast fine. I do think the Regal is slightly smoother and it makes sense because it has more bearings. I am not sure of the other differences between the Regal and Legalis. I'm not sure what justifies the Legalis costing more. But it is worth the money as it is a good reel. I'd have a hard time deciding between a Regal and a Legalis. At their regular prices, I might go with the Regal as it seems as nicely built with more bearing for less money. Maybe someone knows of the reason for the higher cost of the Legalis and can share it with us. Would I recommend the ... MoreI have a Regal 2000 and I wanted a 2500 or 3000 size reel. Very smooth reel! The handle turns effortlessly and the drag is silky smooth. I have used Diawa reels for over thirty years and some of those thirty year old reels are still going strong. Purchase the Legalis LT with confidence.
I own several brands, Shimano, Quantum, BPS, Lews... the Shimano Sedonas are great (older all gold ones) and Lews are tough...but none are as Smooth as this reel at any price! I Love This Reel! It will be my go to smallmouth reel and with right rod maybe my go tolight stick bait twitching tool as well! Currently mounted on a Lews Hank Parker but see it finding a home on a light- med Bionic blade Get one and you wont be sorry.
This is a very smooth reel that I have used for fishing both freshwater and inshore salt water. I am not sure how it will hold up, but if anything like the Diawa Fuego and BG reels I own, I believe this one will handle my fishing needs for the next few years. I have braid to fluro on the two Legalis I purchased and they both cast great and seem to have a very durable drag. I would buy these again.
