I recently bought another Daiwa TD Black series rod the other day as Daiwa thru Freddy's were offering a considerable discount on this range - to be honest, I now have 4 Blacks ranging from baitcaster to 3 piece spin/travel outfit to now a short stumpy spin rod called a Swamp Donkey...All in All: excellent construction & equipment in a well made outfit.And, when offering a considerable saving it's hard not to pick up a spare!

These rods are awesome for light tackle fishing scenarios, with a rod in the TD black series for every application. The itchy twitchy lends itself to being a superb light soft plastic set up in particular, with a fast action and sensitive tip, suitable for anything from unweighted bream plastics up to a 1/4oz to search for deeper bream and bass.

Very nice rod, great feel for the lure and very light, while also having 6-12kg capacity for my option. Would recommend. Slightly short for long casts, but serves my purpose perfectly

The itchy twitchy lends itself to being a superb light soft plastic set up in particular, with a fast action and sensitive tip, suitable for anything from unweighted bream plastics up to a 1/4oz to search for deeper bream and bass.

I own three of the 20 TD black series (grubbin, paddlefish and wicked weasel) and would happily keep adding to the collection if I needed a new stick. The wicked weasel is perfect for throwing plastics between 3-5 inches around the estuary chasing flathead or up river fishing for bass. The rod has a crisp yet soft action and isn't out of place throwing plastics for pan size snapper or a squid jig in calm waters. I specifically like the wicked weasel over the wild weasel as it's a true two piece rod with a mid join. I had the previous version of this rod and it was seriously the best rod I've ever had, so when I broke it pulling in long tail tuna chased by sharks, I went out and bought this one the next day. Its spectacular for casting slugs and small to medium stickbaits and I've caught tuna, mackerel, kingfish and mahi mahi easily. I also used it float lining for snapper and mackerel, and jigging for reefies. Paired with Daiwa TD Sol 6000, its a fantastic combo.
A highly sensitive, very lightweight rod I chose after a great deal of looking and procrastinating to use for whiting fishing off a boat. It has heaps of ability to load up and land a bigger fish if the unexpected happens. I coupled it with a Shimano Vanford 3000 and you can hardly feel the weight of the whole setup, it balances really well. Highly recommended.
I have had this rod for almost 2 years now. It is extremely capable across a variety of applications. I have fished every from 2 inch plastic for bream and whiting to 5 inch plastic for mulloway and snapper. Even with the fast action this rod can still fish a variety of baits without trouble. The rod has a light tip and strong back bone with loads of pulling power. 2 pieces makes it easy to transport. I highly recommend it.
Great rod for flicking plastics for some bread and butter estuary fishing. So far it’s been great fun for Flatties, Bream, Whiting and surprisingly I’ve had 6 decent mangrove jacks so far this season. You will love how light this rod is and also how great the bite feels. Get one!
This rod is a cracker for specifically throwing little paddle tail plastics for bream and bass. The length means I can cast a relatively small jighead a mile while still having the sensitivity to feel bites while slowly rolling.It also doubles up as a decent crabbying rod for soaking crab profile lures and the like. After a few years of use the guides are holding up and the EVA like new.
I was looking for ultra light rod around 8 feet in length to cast light lures further and found this one. I have heard good reviews from friends and even on YouTube. I haven’t get a chance to use it yet but, I felt really good with this rod which was on special that made feel even better.Strongly recommend!!
