The JDM version is an amazing reel. The smoothness and compact frame of a Steez at a fraction of the price. Can't go wrong with this reel.

Fantastic Reel - my second baitcaster (my first being a Shimano Curado K), this reel is amazing! Casts a country mile without backlash, even when using 5g lures and is as smooth as silk winding. For the money, there's not much else on the market in this class, including Shimano's.

Best reel I've ever had. Currently only have 3 of them. Had them for 8 years. Still like new.
I just received my 8.5:1 Zillion sv tw, and it is NICE!! I’m upgrading from the Tatula sv tw 103 and it is a massive upgrade. The spool has less resistance than my Tatula, but the brake settings are more precise so you can really keep the spool tension loose and the brakes keep the backlash at a minimum. Where the Zillion really shines is in the rock-solid feel and perfect smoothness. Ever Since I bought a Certate spinning reel I have wanted a nicer baitcaster, and the new Zillion matches the incredible silky smoothness of the Certate. I never cast lures over 5/8 ounce as my casting rod is a Medium-Light, so the new Zillion is great for smaller lures. I can launch a 3/16th ounce tube way farther than I will ever need to in a real world fishing situation. I got ... MoreI just received my 8.5:1 Zillion sv tw, and it is NICE!! By far the best bait caster I have ever owned, and I can't understand any angler wanting to pay double the price for a "top of the line" reel. This reel is a great value for what you get!! I did upgrade to larger cork knobs which really helps the overall comfort of this reel. One last thing, this reel fits in my hand better than any other reel I have ever used. Daiwa really nailed this one!!!
Wonder why they call this the Zillion? It's because it feels like it worth more than a million! it's super quiet! can't even hear it when you cast it! But if your drag is set low, it have a nice drag clicker! Which is great if you are using this reel as a finesse one. You can spool up to the half way mark or a little bit more with thin braid and send out lures 1/8th oz! very impressive!
Ive always loved the daiwa sv tws tatulas, i bought this for freshwater fishing because the spool is a little bigger, and it is my favorite sv out of all of them. I love this reel, daiwas brakes are far superior to anyone elses including shimanos. You cant hardly backlash this reel even casting into a windstorm. I love this reel, it is a joy to cast. I put it on a 74 phenix m1 2020 rod, the long light rod just floats the bait out there.
I love mine. Mine isn't the JDM model. It makes casting fun. My only complaints are the paint gets scratched easily, but that's totally my fault and that's with all reels and the fact that mine doesn't lock fully when you engage the reel to put the thumb bar back. It double clicks sometimes when reeling. I know I got a defective one as my brother's never did this. Never sent it back b/c it still works and I love using it. I don't think this issue is common. Never heard it from any other buyer. Like the bulky feel, love the metallic look....love my casting distance. What can I say?
This is the best bass reel I have ever used. It’s amazingly smooth like a Shimano and it will throw very light baits a mile. It’s almost like using a BFS reel It’s well worth the money especially for throwing light baits
Absolutely stoked on this reel. I was already a Daiwa fan but this reel has taken my love to a whole new level. Jut like Brent Ehrler says in the video above, you can bomb a cast without a finger on the spool and have zero backlash when the braking system is dialed in. The drag system is also incredibly smooth, possibly the best I've experienced on a baitcaster, 5 stars for me. Will be purchasing more in the future.
