Not a long term review but my initial impressions are pretty good overall. The vibram sole has good traction and cushioning. The leather is good quality and seems like it’ll break in easy. A little stiff around the ankles but already softening up after only a few days. The only reason I didn’t give these five stars off the bat is they definitely need a better insole. The stock ones are completely flat with zero arch support. That said the boots are still comfortable to walk in and should be comfortable for standing for long days. Have some better insoles on order which I think will make them amazing.

These boots are the most comfortable I have ever owned. Unfortunately they scuff very easily and do not recover from it. Any little mark is permanently on the boot and is very noticeable. If you are looking for a casual boot to look good for a long time then this boot is not for you. This boot would be great for people who work outside but not extensive labor.

I bought these to have a pair of comfy boots for in the office or around town. The fit and finish as well as quality of materials on these are great. The sizing is a bit off for me. I normally wear a size 11.5D street shoe and 10.5D work boot. I ordered a 11.5 in these and they fit more or less but are a bit long. Its looks a bit odd. Bought these because i needed something waterproof for a trip to Italy when the forecast changed last minute. They worked great with no break in period. Super comfy and supportive. Nice to have a waterproof full leather upper.Small negatives:Greenish charcoal colorLater scuffs easily
True to size and fits my wide feet well. The leather is a little stiff at first but molds to your foot well. One weird thing my tongue rolls on my right foot causing hot spots, and the "collar" is pretty stiff which rubs the metal plate in my ankle causing pain which is with most shoes. Other then the tongue rolling the leather is very buttery and I actually enjoy wearing them. Great shoe
I really wanted to love these boots. They look great are light and probably one of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. I've tried Wolverines and Red Wings but they hurt my feet after extended wear. Sadly, these boots didn't last 7 months before the soles started to wear out. At this price point they should of lasted a lot longer. I'm really disappointed and scared to order any other shoes from Danner. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend.
Love this style of danner boots. I’ve had all the colorways. I like the smooth ones because they’re easier to clean. The brown smooth leathers are my favorite. High quality stuff. Light weight. Great boots all around.
I'm incredibly pleased with these boots! The Logger 917s are the most comfortable of all my other boots, and quality craftsmanship too. The size and fit are spot-on. I have the Logger 917s in Chocolate Chip and Charcoal, and I rotate wearing them to the office each day. I'm impatiently waiting for the black to be re-stocked. Exceptional footwear!
This is my second pair of Danner boots. The first was a gift from my boss. They were pretty rugged work boots. This pair was bought for everyday use. I have a small farm and do a ton of walking. I was amazed the day I put them on to "break them in" and found that it only took a few hours. They are rugged like the work boots but stylish and thus make the perfect everyday wearer. They are so light I feel like I am wearing Converse Chuck Taylors. They look great with any pant and get nice markings on the leather to show that they get their fare share of work in a day but can also be cleaned up to not appear beat up. Perfect footbed that isn't too arched, which suits me, and are warm without being too stifling. I get compliments on them a lot. I like how you can have the option of removing the little trim sash piece (for lack of knowing the proper term) from the toe area by removing the laces. Not my style! Excellent boot and extremely comfortable with great support. I walk a mile to and from work each day and these boots have been as comfortable to walk in as my hiking shoes and sneakers. They have been warm and waterproof for a Michigan winter and I really appreciate the excellent tread on the Vibram sole. I also were these all day at work where I stand most of the day and again they are very comfortable and don't feel clunky while also looking sharp. The leather is top notch, thick but soft (not stiff) enough to move with you, adding to the comfort. I looking forward to seeing how long these last, but at this point I would certainly buy these again and I plan to get some other Danner shoes for the warmer months.
