I've recently had to replace my DC Judge with the 2021 model and it's been a revelation! I've rocked the Judge for over a decade now and have never had any issues with the Boa system or the boot itself. These new boots made me realize how much stiffness was lost in my previous pair (used 7+ years). The response is great and the Boa system works well. The new coiler reel system is nice but probably unnecessary. They're easier to get out of than my previous pair.

I like these boots. Still waiting to get them heat molded and have only ridden them once. I like the stiffness. It's not completely rigid, but it's not soft either. They are great for powder and bombing all mountain stuff. They aren't broken in yet, so there are some hot spots that start to hurt at the end of the day. To be expected on a new pair though. My feet don't fall asleep in them.

They are great for powder and bombing all mountain stuff. They aren't broken in yet, so there are some hot spots that start to hurt at the end of the day. To be expected on a new pair though. Fit great right out the box and had a tremendous first day with them at Meadows. Mid/stiff flex is on point for charging big lines up top. But noticed a pretty sharp pain in my right ankle the second day with them. Figured it was a teething issue being new boots, so I got a slight heel lift to put my ankle bone in a different spot, but it only seemed to get worse. Consensus is that the section where the J bar is in the inner part of the boot was sticking out more than it should, which made for the discomfort. Shame I had to warranty.
Craftsmanship isn't the best compared to other brands. Fit is good though. True to size. Measure your feet with a foot measure, that helps. Careful with the Velcro on the liner because it will catch on to things and tear everything up. They should have went with a less harsh Velcro. Other than that the boots fine.
I have wide feet with a high instep, and it is really hard for me to find well fitting boots. I usually have to size up and deal with the host of issues that comes with that, or deal with boots that make my feet numb an hour into riding.These boots are amazing! They are so far the only mid to stiff boots I can find that fit well. They are so comfortable and responsive! I did have to add some j bars to solve a heel slip issue but that's par for the course. If you have trouble finding boots due to wider or higher instep in your feet, look no further. Once you get these heat molded and ride them a few days these become some of the most comfortable boots while still providing you the support you need. I was excited about getting these as a birthday upgrade from my 4 season old Ride Jackson's this year. However to my disappointment, they did not live up to what I was expecting or needing for an upgraded snowboard boot. My foot is skinny, long, and flat. YThese boots are made for Fred flinstone foot. So I you have wide, thick, with a high arch, these boots may be for you. I could not get these boots tight enough around my feet, even with the upgrade to the double boa. There seemed to be a lot of boot bulk that gets in the way of being able to tighten the boot efficiently. The bulky material binds on itself and can only be tightened to a certain point, which was still too big for my skinny foot and ankle. The liner laces kept getting loose when moving around and the upper Velcro strap was very long which went past the Velcro attach area. Ok enough details... it comes down to the boots just didn't work for my body. I love dc boots and shoes, their style etc. One correction that does need to be made, imo, is the flex rating on the site. They are touted to be an 8 out 10, meaning dang stiff. But they seemed more like a 5 - 6 to me. I tried them on for an hour in the house, and I was already seeing creases on the outside material in ankle / instep area (I bought the grey suede color). So it seemed they could flex up quite a bit after a few days on the mountain. Overall build quality and style are outstanding, and prob would be bomb park boots.
I just upgraded to these boots from some 32 boots that were about 7 years old. These DC judge boots are levels above my old 32 boots. Loving the boa lace system. The lining is nice and warm. I wear a size 9.5 shoe and bought these in a 10.5. I tried on the size 10 boots but they were a little too tight. I am hoping the 10.5 dont pack out too much and create too much room. I have flat feet and there is about an 1/8" from my toes to the edge of the boot.

I tried many other boots and returned them all before I went back to the Judge. I tried Ride Trident, K2 Maysis, and Burton Photon. All of them restricted blood flow to my feet causing numbness. I would not buy last year's DC Judge model as they have a ridiculous hard strap that protrudes off the back of the boot and rubs against the high-back of your binding. That's why I did not get a pair last year and tried the other brands. Thankfully, this year, DC removed that senseless strap and now the boots are flat in the back like every other pair of boots on the planet. For work I used to fit ski and snowboard boots for over 10 years. I am a true 9.5 and after letting these sit on my feet for 20 minutes, they molded perfectly. They did feel a little tight at first, but after 20 minutes of wearing they became so comfortable! I would definitely say these do not run small. Just reviews from snowboarder's who wear boots that are too big.
