Look, I don't know why, but I have always hated spaghetti, I do however love bucatini. Some other brands seem to cook more quickly than the De Cecco, but it is lovely an consistent and cooks well. Very reasonably priced too, which is a big factor for us.

Bucatini is chunkier than spaghetti, cooks very well if you observe the guidelines, and goes well with pasta sauces. The De Cecco version is slightly better than the Waitrose branded version, as well as being a bit cheaper. Recommended.

Good alternative to linguine or spaghetti
LOVE this bucatini, nowadays i do prefer it to normal spaghetti. the texture is great and have some bite to it when cooked properly
De Cecco pasta never fails to please and this one is a great texture. Good alternative to spaghetti. Much enjoyed.
We love this as its thicker than spaghetti and is hollow so the sauce gets inside the pasta which means you get the flavour of the sauce in every bite. Make sure you keep to the cooking times to get excellent results.
I had such high hopes for this pasta given the reviews. The flavour of the pasta is pleasant when you eventually manage to eat it. The hole in the center means the pasta doesnt like to twirl as spaghetti or linguine does. The hole in the pasta also prevents you from slurping it up if, which with this pasta is often, you dont manage to get the whole piece of pasta in your mouth. By the time I managed to eat it it had gone cold which added to the disappointment. Maybe if you chop it up youll have better luck.
Now my favourite pasta
for some reason, I prefer spaghetti and linguine, so I thought I'd try this one especially as I find bronze extruded pasta hold sauces far better, and paired with my slow cooked Bolognese it was amazing, really tasty and it held the sauce really well, plus there is a tiny hole through the center which also helps.

De Cecco - Linguine 1kg
Linguine De Cecco is a pasta variety that captures the essence of Ligurian culinary tradition and the art of perfectly marrying pasta with sauces. Linguine, hailing from the picturesque region of Liguria, is among the most celebrated types of long pasta. Their appearance resembles that of small, flat, and narrow tagliatelle-style pasta, and their creation was inspired by a harmonious pairing with the iconic Ligurian pesto sauce. What sets Linguine apart is their flattened section and slightly convex shape, which make them ideally suited for capturing and enveloping sauces, ensuring that every bite is a delightful explosion of flavours. They are a canvas that brings out the nuances of diverse culinary creations. Traditional Ligurian pesto, with its vibrant blend of fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, and extra virgin olive oil, finds its perfect partner in Linguine De Cecco. The pasta's shape effortlessly cradles the pesto, allowing the sauce to cling and infuse each strand, creating a match made in culinary heaven. For those who crave a touch of heat and spice, Linguine is the perfect base for quick, zesty sauces prepared with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, anchovies, and capers. This combination brings a burst of Mediterranean flair to your table. Linguine also excels when adorned with sauces featuring shellfish and seafood, adding a hint of the sea to each forkful. Furthermore, their adaptability extends to "white" sauces, where cream, mascarpone, soft or melting cheeses are enhanced with spices like saffron, horseradish, curry, and ginger, offering a world of delectable possibilities.
