I use DecoArt Americana paint on all of my bisque projects. Usually one coat covers beautifully. Easily washes out of clothing if I happen to splash a little. Never have to worry
about hue difference when ordering several for large projects. Can be used on wood, glass, rocks, bisque, and other surfaces. Price is reasonable.

Quite pleased with these paints, they go on smooth, especially with a soft brush. They also work for stenciling, if used with a little care. They do have a flat finish, but I’ve been
going over them with a clear sealer for durability anyway, so I get the sheen I want that way.Check the Americana website for the opacity chart, they are open and honest
about which colors are opaque, and which are semi-opaque. As expected, all colors I’ve used look better with 2 coats, semi-opaque take 3.

These are great acrylic paints for craft projects. I used these paints for the trendy project of painting outdated vases and a plastic pumpkin to look like terracotta/clay. Turned
out better than I expected and I am happy with the results. (combine paint and baking soda for a textured look).

I painted a wooden sign
9 July 2023
I used Americana® Acrylic Paint, 2oz., for my project, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. I painted a wooden sign with this small bottle of paint, and despite its size, I am confident it will last a long time. The paint goes on smoothly and covers the surface evenly, and the shade I chose complemented the other colors beautifully. I didn't even need to use a sealer because the paint adhered exceptionally well. I highly recommend Americana® Acrylic Paint for its quality, longevity, and excellent coverage.... Show more

Michael's Awakened An Artist
6 July 2023
Shopping at Michael's has been very rewarding for us.. They are very well stocked in all the acrylic paints that we need. America Deco Art is one of our favorite..My hobby is painting. I started at age 44 and I am now 73. My husband and I retired a couple my years ago during COVID. We took an apartment right around the corner from a Michael's store in Covington, LA. Michael's has beena great gift to us. It just so happened that my husband decided to start painting also. Be saw me painting and decided to take a stab at it. He caught on fast and has even sold some paintings. Your customer service is wonderful, & your employees are helpful all the time.Your Acrylic Paints are well stocked for our needs and are packaged with a smile from your employees. Thank you.hobby... Perfect Paint for Dot Painting
14 July 2022
I love to paint mandalas. I’ve been doing it for about a year, and in that time, I’ve tried a lot of different acrylic paints.DecoArt Americana has the perfect texture necessary for creating dots that are consistent and uniform for a markedly longer time than other acrylics of the same price range. The key is to mix it with a long wood stick when you first open it. After its first mix, the paint retains its cohesion and gives a superior performance—which is very very important when you’re trying to make everything look identical. If you dot paint, you should absolutely try DecoArt Americana Paint. And Cadmium Yellow is a great one to buy first, especially for beginners—you can use it as the “pollen” in the center of your “flowers.”Have fun!... Show more

Pointillism Perfection
4 February 2022
Deco art Americana paints are my go to paints for dot art. The paint consistency straight from the bottle is perfect for dots and swooshes alike. No need for mediums to get the creamy consistency I am looking for. I found Deco Art Americana’s opacity chart on the website. It is an invaluable tool. It has saved me money by helping choose the right color to perform in the way I want to to. It seems Deco Art has done all the hard work for me!... Show more

Wow - maybe I don't need my expensive artist acrylics!
26 July 2017
I've been using artist grade acrylics for a few years. I read really good reviews for Americana Acrylics on a few sites, so for the really low price I thought I'd try them. I'd been wanting to try soft/liquid acrylics for a while anyway. These lived up to the great reviews. They have excellent opacity in most colors (some colors are by their nature more transparent in all acrylic brands). The colors are bright and clean. They spread superbly on primed canvas (I prime my own canvas with standard primer and use pretty heavy weight canvas). They flow so well and are so much easier to paint with than my expensive tube paints. Surprisingly for soft paints, they will show brush strokes somewhat when using a stiff brush. They flow so well and are so much easier to paint with than my expensive tube paints. Surprisingly for soft paints, they will show brush strokes somewhat when using a stiff brush. The bottles are a perfect size and easy to use to control exactly how much paint to put on the palette. There are soooo many wonderful colors to choose from - not even Blick carries them all - but I was able to paint two large paintings with very different color schemes from just 10 bottles of basic colors because they mix like a dream. They definitely have a matte finish, so if you want more gloss in the final product, a top coat in the desired gloss level is needed. That's what I did in the attached example. I thought my artist acrylics were nice paints and good to work with, but after using Americana on two completed pieces, I don't even want too use my old paint at all anymore. So glad to have found these great paints for so much less money. The attached pic shows a close up of part of the project.... Show more
