I bought this along with my purchase of a new XPS15. Cost me an additional UKÂŁ135 (inc VAT), but I really don't feel it was worth the price. The worst thing about it for me is the very short connection cable (USB C to computer). This I find very restricting - particularly when I use the laptop on a stand. The adaptor is left hanging in mid air. It's unfortunate that the USB-C does not accept power pass-through, so you still need the power supply to connect directly to the computer, hence 2 cables.Only 2 USB-A inputs. More would certainly have been useful (to me at least).All-in-all, a very disappointing purchase.

The most compact, handy, good-looking, non-powered USB-C hub out there! With the modern sleek computers losing useful ports left and right, everyone should have at least one of these in their backpack. The XPS machine I have only has two USB-C ports, so a hub like this is essential. But instead of a bulky, heavy docking station, this is all you need. From 1Gb Ethernet connection, to HDMI an DisplayPort, to standard USB as well as an additional USB-C, it's all there. And when you don't need it, it's just a small puck that rolls the cord right into itself.Magical design!

There's some clever design, but not clever enough for my needs. 1) Cable too short for use with Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 2022 detachable computer that has only 2 ports half way up the side of the screen. 2) The USB connector at the end of the cable should be 90 degrees to reduce stress on the cable. 3) The USB C port on the adapter doesn't appear to pass enough power to the computer. When this Dell computer's charger is connected to the DA305, this new Dell computer warns at boot time that the power supply is inadequate. There is no such warning when the same Dell charger is connected directly to the same Dell computer. 4) No 1/8" audio port, which my computer lacks. 5) No SD or micro SD, also lacking on my computer. 6) Too few USB C ports -- only one. When hooking up two monitors through this hub you only get the same content on both as if the laptop does not sense there are two separate monitors. The display settings do not even show the option to extend the monitors and the system only sees one monitor. So one monitor has to be connected directly to the laptop HDMI port and the other through the hub. Now, on startup the system does not sense the hub-connected monitor and you have to unplug the HDMI cable for it to find the monitor connected through the hub, then after the HDMI is reconnected, it sees two monitors. Disappointing performance. The other accessories connected to the hub work well so it does save some time.
Bought this device after owning a DA300 for a while and being very happy with it. Unfortunately this new model does not work properly - if the screen goes to sleep in some circumstances, it will not wake up without the video cable being removed and plugged back in, which makes it almost totally useless.Out of the box, the screen also didn't reconnect successfully if the DA305 was unplugged and then replugged back in (e.g. if you unplugged laptop to go into a meeting and then return). However, a firmware fix was released which seems to have corrected this. There has been a second firmware fix which was released yesterday but it still hasn't fixed the reliability when the monitor goes to sleep.I have posted about this on the community forum and after some false ... MoreBought this device after owning a DA300 for a while and being very happy with it. This device makes a nice addition to my Dell XPS for video, wired Ethernet, and older USB connectivity.Note that if you connect both HDMI and DisplayPort, you'll get the same output on both screens, it's not recognized as multiple monitors. I see now that the DA310 Video specification page says "*Only one video output is supported at a time" but I bought the DA305 which did not specify that. Please update the DA305 page to specify that only a single video output is supported at a time, like the DA310 page. When powering my laptop via this device, I see a small warning that it's charging slowly because my laptop power supply is 135W and this device only supports 90W. But at least it's charging, which is nice.
The Dell 6-in-1 USB-C Multiport Adapter - DA305 is a wonderful product which seamlessly connects six different devices including Display Monitor , network port etc.. simultaneously without any issue . It also provides a flexibility to connect the Display Monitor to either one from Three different options e.g. HDMI Port , Display Port or the USB-Type C port interactively which is simply great . This small , compact , modern , sleek and sweet device is truly a blessings in disguise as invented by DELL which comes as a panacea and Saviour to the Dell users using the latest laptops ( XPS etc.. ) that does not have USB Type-A port .
The adapter works well, though I haven't exercised the display port adapter yet.I know I should be a geek, but I don't instamtly recognise what all the ports are, so I would appreciate them to be labelled. In a font big enough to read, and not printed grey on grey as I want the asthetically confronting labels to be just that, so I can actually read them.I'd like a longer cable too so that the area around the laptop isn't so crowded with stuff. The roll of the cable into the adapter is a nice touch. When adding the adapter to the system, there were no hassles with drivers.Given I use my laptop as a desktop and tend to have a lot of attached peripherals, it would be nice if there was an option for it to take power to be able to on-supply peripherals rather than put ... MoreThe adapter works well, though I haven't exercised the display port adapter yet.I know I should be a geek, but I don't instamtly recognise what all the ports are, so I would appreciate them to be labelled. I think the cord that goes to the computer should be longer, the cord is only about 5 inches long and when you move the laptop you have to balance this device. My new computer did not have any usb ports on it so the sales rep recomended this. I did not know it only had two usb ports on it. I need a usb for the printer now the mouse needs a usb port and I did not want that. I also need a usb port for my external hard drive.
