32-inch Monitor (even for non-gamers) with Good Performance & Reasonable Pricing
I don't play any games, but I purchased an Alienware laptop & other accessories for the first time this year after I read a lot of positive reviews about "Alienware". I was satisfied with my purchases, and I just added another monitor (this one) which is more comparable (32" QHD with NVIDIA G-SYNC) with my new Alienware laptop. It was very easy to set up this monitor, since it was just "plug & play". And the built quality & the performance level (including graphic & resolution) were up to my expectation (actually higher than my initial expectation).I personally (& also professionally) use various graphic-related software as a "non-IT" person, this monitor has been providing me more than enough "quality" overall.Just for your information, Dell offers various ... Amazing crystal-clear monitors with a lot of features.
I wanted a monitor that I could use for both work and leisure and saw the G3223D and placed an order. While waiting I had watched a few videos that had made me question the choice due to HDR issues and I was worried, then they arrived. I can honestly say they picture quality is amazing. I don;t know what all the videos and reviews were having issues with. I use them with PC and Console, both are excellent. Crisp images, vivid colour and more than enough real estate to have everything I'm working on. I am an IT professional so one monitor I have Remote Desktop Manager which is so good as it fits the whole screen as if I'm working on the server itself. The only downside is that they might be a little too big as I have to almost physcially move to see what's on the ... An amazing and worthwhile upgrade - even from a 27", 1440p, IPS, 144hz display
I upgraded to the Dell G3223D from a more budget-friendly 27", 1440p IPS display and I have to say even though that monitor was markedly better than my 24", 1080P TN display, the Dell GT3223D was still a remarkable upgrade.I fell in love with 1440p as a resolution simply because of its huge improvement over 1080p, while not requiring quite the horsepower that 4K does. While I do have a very capable PC with the latest generation hardware, I still enjoy experiencing above 60fps in certain titles. However I had always felt that while 1440p at 27" was good, it did seem a bit cramped and just slightly 'too crisp' for my liking.32" is most definitely the sweet spot for the 1440p resolution (in a 16:9 aspect ratio). You don't get the same losses as you do scaling 1080p ... You don't get the same losses as you do scaling 1080p up from 24" to 27" and it still presents a very good image. I use this display in a mixed fashion; from playing MOBAs to FPS games, as well as more detailed and environment-heavy titles, to grinding Excel spreadsheets; webpages; and Word documents. This display does it all and it does it beautifully.Content consumption is also great thanks to the amazing brightness this monitor is able to achieve due to its HDR400 certification, however if you are planning to get this monitor for HDR content specifically I would save your pennies and look for one with a higher certification. The only benefit I see for HDR400 is that for most displays you will get noticeably better brightness for SDR content.I thought my old 27" 1440p monitor had pretty good colour accuracy despite it not being a wide-gamut display like the Dell G3223D but boy let me tell you, right out of the box it is a night and day difference. It showed that my old monitor had really poor colour reproduction and had a blue/green bias, whereas this monitor is fantastically more natural. The extra modes provided if you prefer a more vivid display are good but as I have a high prescription and wear glasses all day, the sRGB mode works the best for me.165hz over 144hz is welcomed but not a requirement as there is not a noticeable difference but the overdrive and latency on this monitor is scarily good. I have not experienced any inverse ghosting or fringing in any title and the compatibility AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is good; however mine also has a G-Sync sticker so I assume it also works with NVIDIA cards?I got this monitor as opposed to an ultrawide display as I still like the traditional separate monitor set-up for multitasking, and appreciate games better in 16:9. I do wish that this monitor was curved like its slightly cheaper brother but then you'd be getting a VA panel, and I knew from experience that I much prefer IPS over VA. I think the 32" inch size in a non-curved display is definitely pushing the envelope of what is acceptable and comfortable, however I have no quarrels and do not regret my purchase. The I/O and connectivity is good however admittedly I have not made use of the extra ports available but I have used the USB-C to plug my work laptop in and it is great. The included stand does everything I need it to do, however if you like running your display vertical you will require a monitor arm due to its large size. Dell's implementation of Vesa and their quick-mounting solutions though are still industry-leading and I love the convenience. It was a tool-less assembly and I had the monitor plugged in and on my desk in no time.My only complaint is the UK power plug provided - it is comically short and depending on where your power is located and the depth of your desk, you may struggle to plug it in. Other than that however, this monitor is fantastic and I am considering buying another one in the future to complement it in a 2-monitor configuration!... Show more

Dell G3223D
Excellent 4K 120Hz+ monitor. The same high quality as Dell's other premium IPS lineup, which many are probably used to from work, with a higher refresh rate and faster response times that allow gaming. If you want a single monitor for both work and gaming, this one is hard to beat. The biggest advantage, which makes this an obvious purchase for me, is that you can lower the brightness down to ~40cdm and still have top contrast. This is something almost only Dell monitors support in today's monitor market. Most other monitors are way too bright at their lowest brightness, or lose too much contrast. This is a monitor I've been waiting for a long time and I don't have much negative to say about it except that I'd love to see a 27" variant. Fiddly to set up and almost no sound volume using USB-C connection
Got this at a good price which made it fair value. I use it with a Dell G15 5521 Special Edition. The monitor's HDMI & USB-C ports at the back are very difficult to access, best to plug everything in with the monitor lying flat on its screen before locating it where you need it. Nice small bezel, so doesn't look too large on the desk. Picture quality seems OK. The buttons on the back which control all the settings are not intuitive to use, so it is difficult to set up. It doesn't like the Nvidia Control Panel either, which makes getting it to refresh at more than the default 60Hz is difficult, I had to get Technical Support to help and even then the settings reverted once I switched it off. However, by far the worst feature is the ability of this monitor to send ... Gaming on this with the above laptop, with sound set to max on external speakers, the fan on the laptop is louder than the sound from the speakers. Switch to the HDMI port, and the sound volume is just about acceptable but still nowhere near as loud as it was when I was using my old Dell 2417 monitor, which was far better.... Show more

Good, but shy of great
PROS: It's bright and has nice viewing angles. Matte screen coating cuts down on glare but not completely. Great color and nice refresh rates. Good build quality as is typical of Dell monitors. Gaming looks good (to my eyes anyway, I don't play FPS games). CONS: HDR is kind of a non starter. Great HDR would've been nice on a gaming monitor. Blacks are not as black as they could be (mostly a current limitation of IPS panels).Black uniformity isn't perfect/great. Contrast could be better. USB C port only delivers 15w. No KVM. tl;dr Good, but not great monitor. I think this is worth it If you can pick it up on sale. At full retail though, there are potentially better options for the $$. In short, if you're OK with turning off HDR, and the limitations of IPS "blacks" ... MorePROS: It's bright and has nice viewing angles. Matte screen coating cuts down on glare but not completely. Great for Productivity and PC Gaming
Was in the market for a 30+ inch @ 165hz monitor. 1440p is the sweet spot in resolution for me as 4k @ 165hz is to intensive and the resolution to high for my GFX card too support.Ive been working 8-9 hours a day behind this screen, great for productivity, I sit approx 50cm from screen, the lower ppi than 4k is great for me as text is larger and less strain on my eyes. The high refresh rate has also relieved the occasional headaches my old monitor used to give me.Gaming is great at 165hz, wish I'd made the jump to 16shz sooner. I was concerned about playing FPS titles on such a large screen but have had no issues. Aiming has improved drastically with 165hz and reduced input lag compared to an older dell 2720DOnly downside is 1080p from a PS4 is slightly ... Great Value!
Great monitor! Quality is topnotch, no dead pixel, color accuracy is excellent and gaming performance is superb. Build quality is on par with other more expensive gaming monitors. Port selections are decent and cable management is easy. Only downside for me is the non-customizable blue LED ring at the back, I wish I can change the color to match whatever setup I have. All in all I still rate it a 5 star. Overall performance is beyond my expectation.Great value! Highly recommend the product.... Show more

Misleading claims about VRR support for latest consoles, otherwise great for just PC use
Really nice screen, if Dell made a widescreen version of this (21:9 40" 3440x1440) it would be an instant buy as while this screen is large I do find myself missing that extra real-estate that ultrawide offers. The response times are FAST zero smear perceivable when gaming even with white/black text when scrolling webpages. The only reason I have deducted stars is that the marketing is a lie on this product page, it claims "compatibility with the latest consoles and allows you to experience QHD content at a 120Hz variable refresh rate" yet this advertised feature has been confirmed by DELL Support post sale to -only- work with Xbox, so that's compatibility with 50% of the latest consoles (33.3% if you can count the switch)Aside from a bit of disappointment that I ... I love it, it's a great monitor. not pricey at all for a QHD Monitor. Love the light at the back of the monitor, absolutely makes it really cool. The other thing that I like is the function to easily split the screen where I can manage my work with some tabs open.Normally, I use the monitor for my work laptop (Dell), where Dell has the function of DDM (Dell Display Manager). This absolutely legend!I also use Mac ocassionally for my personal laptop. I just havent found the setting to activate this DDM in Mac.The downside of this monitor is only the USB-C port. It doesn't have enough power to support/charge my laptop while I'm working. So, I have to use the charger to plug it on my other USB-C port in laptop while plug the other port to the monitor.Overall, great ...
