This notebook was shipped fast and arrived quicker. We ordered about 50 at one time for our business. After we booted it up for the first time we initially panicked because the track pad did not work, and I had trouble getting thru the Win10 setup screens. We then plugged a wireless mouse into it and was able to navigate the setup screens. Win10 need a TON of updating which took a very long time. Track pad started working after updates. Now that the machine is fully updated, I am extremely pleased with this laptop. The SSD boots into Windows very fast. The WIFI works great. 16GB of ram is perfect for what we need it for. The battery performs like new and holds a charge for a very long time. This computer arrived. I did not use it for a while when I did I could not get into it at all. It would ask for my name and password then would not sign on no matter how many different times I tried to sign on. It gave me a pin number to sign on and that did not work. I even had a protection plan on it . I called the company as it said I got no answer. I then called Walmart, Walmart was going to notify the company.. I have heard nothing. I demand a refund.
Super disappointed with this purchase. Bought it to take my exam during nursing school and when it arrived the computer didnt work. The screen stayed white and never changed. Thank God the school loaned me a laptop to take the test, but now i have this headache of a purchase to return. So disappointed.
Laptop works very well, and is a good successor for the previous model (5431); works fast and quietly. Keeps rather cool temperature wise while working under a heavy workload. Altogether, very happy with this product.
Latitude 5440 bought as replacement for Inspiron 14+ which exhibited problems within my Dell docking station/ external monitor set-up. Unfortunately despite the higher price tag and stated compatiblity with the dock, the 5440 is now exhibiting the exact same problems as encountered with the Inspiron. Still trying to resolve through Dell Customer Care.
The new Latitude 5440 is exactly what I have come to expect from Dell. Its a solid laptop, good build quality, same chassis as the previous 5430. Looks and feels like a mainstream Corporate computer. Not going to win any beauty contests, but it gets the job done. I was able to review a 3000 series last week as well, and the 5000 is definitely a step up in appearance and materials.
The new Latitude 5440 is the right mix of power, quality, and portability. I love that it's still available with an onboard NIC. I do wish that it had a 16:10 screen like its bigger brother, the 7440... but the 16:9 is still the standard so I can't knock it too much for that. The build quality is very good. The hinges are exceptionally sturdy, and it fits perfectly into any bag I grab on my way out the door.
The laptop is solid and dependable as the previous latitude. It runs well and is the right size for our fleet of enterprise devices. I have only had this unit for a few weeks but it has run through all of the tests and is beyond sufficient for our needs.
