Purchase from Dell, but leaving a review here as Dell does not allow reviews except I think when invited via email shortly after purchase. So their reviews are not representative of true owner experience, little more than a first impression a couple weeks after purchase. After that, can't leave a review. Purchase in May, worked well with both my Dell laptop and MacStudio. Now 5 months later developed an occasional flickering and now permanent horizontal lines. Horizontal lines persist during self diagnostics when not attached to laptop, so monitor issue, not driver, etc. Contacted support and they quickly sent a replacement. As you can see in the picture (which is how it arrived) the screen is not protected, and the cables are loose in the box. Free to bash against the screen throughout shipping. I didn't even unpack this any further, and am now sending it back when they will send another. But as the agent said, there is no guarantee the next one wont be done the same poor, damaging way. And Dell, if you read this, I would have contacted you about this, but you don't allow your customers any method to speak to anyone that would care or could do anything of consequence. UPDATE after the initial review …Dell sent a second “refurbished” replacement that was worse than the first. It had a substantial/permanent “burn” in the top left corner. Obviously one that someone else had returned, that they just turn around and send back out without checking or caring whatsoever. There are some issues that might not appear right away when testing. Not the case here, the burn was apparent with the monitor off. Whatever dept (or 3rd party) of Dell handles this is inexcusably a bad. Sent that back of course and finally got someone on the phone that was able to send me an actual new one as replacement. Been almost 2 months now, and that one is so far behaving fine.

I received this as my work monitor a couple of weeks ago. My work is limited to buying equipment from the government’s approved list and this was the only new USB-C monitor that was the size I wanted. With a $1000 price it certainly felt high quality when I unboxed it: very heavy and solid. There are plenty of ports, and the USB-C connection worked nicely with both my PC and Mac. A nice thing is that I can even plug the Ethernet cable into the monitor. The 16:10 aspect ratio is very nice. I had this before with an earlier monitor and I really appreciate the extra screen space - it’s a pity this isn’t more common. I was initially disappointed when I saw on the box that the screen resolution was only 2560 x 1600. I’d assumed at this price point that it would be 4K. ... MoreI received this as my work monitor a couple of weeks ago. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the image. I expected it to be all pixellated but it was pretty good. I have an LG 27-inch 5K monitor for my Mac at home, and the Dell is clearly inferior to this but not so much that it offends my eyes (!). The color quality is very good on the Dell, perhaps even better than the LG. Overall I’m happy with this monitor. I love the 16:10 screen and the ease of connection with both Mac and PC. The build quality is high, and the only negative is that the resolution is low by modern standards. Perhaps because it’s a high-quality panel, though, the picture is actually pretty good. A 5K version of this monitor would be absolutely perfect!

Pros : large monitor that easily allows the user to see multiple sized windows with no issue; the conferencing features are great Cons : bulky even for a large monitor; bit of an eye sore Had the monitor about a month now. Overall I'm happy with how to product works. It handles everyday functions such as word documents, spreadsheets, and web browsing without issue and everything looks like it should. The size of the monitor takes full advantage the Dell Display Manager; even the smallest screen options are readily legible from a few feet away. Additionally the camera feature works really well. No issues related to streaming and the image quality is good. The primary con is the monitor seems to be needlessly bulky even for a 32" monitor. Just one Caveat - Besides the general length Power Chord, All other cables supplied in the Box, are comparatively shorter measuring just about a Meter, or less. It’s ok if Your CPU case is On the Desk with your Monitor, but very inconvenient for others like me, who have their CPU Cases below the Table, where the Short Cables pose a Limitation. With some Adjustments, was able to get it all connected. But I lose the Ability to Raise the Monitor any Higher, as the USB C cables and HDMI cables are maxed out, and I chose to keep a 2 inch buffer, to avoid Stretch. My earlier Dell Monitor still Going Strong since 2015, came with all Cables measuring 1.5 mtrs or more. And Connected fine with My PC. Other than that, this is a Great Monitor, and I Simply couldn’t be happier. Thank You Team Dell.

Fantastic Monitor for Content Creator

I've been using the previous generation of this monitor for several years and love the spacious screen real estate and colors. Recently, my IT department gave me the current model to use (I believe we were given the unit to test). I've been using it for about 2 weeks. I'm really impressed with the thin bezel and more refined stand over the previous generation. Dell has put a lot of thought into redesigning the how the plugs in the back are arranged and hidden. They are much easier to get to now. What really draws me to this monitor is the color fidelity and contrast. I used the X-rite ColorMunki (legacy) device to calibrate it with very good results. Even out of the box, the monitor looked great! This monitor is used in a color grading environment as my GUI display. It does a great job sitting next to my color calibrated video monitor with no discernible hue shift. It does have a few minor quirks, 1) the menu button/joy stick is located on the back of the screen and positioned in such a way as to cause me to put my thumb on the screen–which I don't love. 2) the height adjustment sticks a little at the top of the range, which causes me to push rather hard on it to move it up and down. All in all, I really love this monitor and will continue to use it.

There are so many features on this monitor it needs a video tutorial for connections to utilize to them all.

I DON'T use the USB-C Hub but DO love the monitor!

I got this monitor for color accuracy in its size point. All the USB-C stuff doesn't pertain to me and I will never use it. Had the same quality monitor been available without it, I would have gone that route and saved a couple hundred. That said the color on this out of the box is great. I had to return a previous Dell (P series) monitor I got because the color was so bad on it and had limited adjustments. Now you may wonder why color is important to me. I am a video editor and motion graphics artist, so color accuracy is extremely important. Most monitors will have a heavy green or magenta hue in the white space and sometimes heavy blue which isn't always even across the monitor space. That said, this monitor's white at the size it is, is pretty consistent from edge to edge. The left side has a slight magenta and the right a slight green if looking for the color distortion in sRGB color space but it is very minimal. Even on the Standard color setting mode the white is very close to true but leans just a little blue. So if you are looking for a quality 4k 32" (31.5) monitor with good color accuracy and display evenness, I recommend this monitor.

This monitor has excellent picture quality, blacks are nice and deep. Build quality is also good, and the thin bezels are appreciated. However, where this monitor falls short is with its advertised ability to daisy chain another 4k monitor while also providing docking station functionality (USB hub & Ethernet). Even with DisplayPort 1.2/1.4 and display stream compression (DSC) there simply is not enough bandwidth to drive two 4k 30Hz or 60Hz displays (daisy-chained) plus Ethernet and additional usb devices from a single USB-C connection to the host computer. I bought two of these monitors thinking I wouldn’t need a docking station… wrong! I would get screen flickering/blackouts under high bandwidth situations making them unusable. After spending nearly $2k on these ... MoreThis monitor has excellent picture quality, blacks are nice and deep. Build quality is also good, and the thin bezels are appreciated. After spending nearly $2k on these monitors I sadly ended up spending another $400 on a thunderbolt docking station (WD22TB) to remedy the situation. If the monitors came with thunderbolt 3/4 connectivity then their advertised claims would be valid. So beware if you plan on running two of these.

Nice, worth the money

At first, the internet connection through USB-C just did not work. Only after having updated monitor drivers on Windows, namely also including the RealTek USB-GBE Ethernet controller driver, this worked. For a non-trained user, or a user without admin rights, this is a deal-breaker. Should not be needed in the time of plug-and-play. For macOS this worked. There have been some additional connection problems in conjunction with a Dell wireless mouse/keyboard with wireless USB dongle (KM7321W). Not sure they are to be attributed to the KM7321W or to the monitor. But as soon as I connected the dongle to the monitor USB hub, it started to hiccup, the mouse intermittently froze. Not sure they are to be attributed to the KM7321W or to the monitor. But as soon as I connected the dongle to the monitor USB hub, it started to hiccup, the mouse intermittently froze. It seems to depend on what else is connected (e.g. got worse after plugging an SSD disk next to the USB port with the wireless dongle). It got better again, when I moved the dongle to the front-most, user-accessible USB port (not one of the actual hub ports at the back of the monitor). Pretty strange, I found... This works even worse for macOS. That the USB-C connection defaults to USB 2.0 for data (favoring display quality) seems strange... at least if you have hardware supporting DP 1.4. In that case, you can safely go for USB 3.1 for data. To do this, you have to go into the on-screen menu of the monitor, and change this setting: Settings->Display->USB-C Prioritization->High Data Speed. Imho, this was best the default... not sure how many people run this monitor at mediocre data speeds for SSDs attached to the USB hub of the monitor... Regarding my wish for 5K for macOS: the downside of 4K is that you have to choose an interpolating display scaling to size things right (at least for my eyes). That works just fine, macOS does a tremendous job: it all looks crisp and clear. But interpolation comes at a small performance penalty for graphics speed. If the display was 5K, 2880 lines, a division by 2, non-interpolating scale, would do an even better job at no speed penalty. Hence my wish for 5K.

Superior quality and design

After extensive research and buying/returning several other monitors, I am pleased to say I finally found the best monitor to pair with my 2020 M1 Macbook Air. The picture, colours and font crispness are outstanding. I do a lot of reading online and also edit photos so I needed a monitor that could excel at both. This is definitely it. Design-wise, this is just a beautiful monitor with super slim bezels. Everything is where it should be. The USB-C hub is fantastic. Only one cord to connect and charge my laptop with all the peripherals plugged into the hub. I do wish there was more than one usb-c downstream port since everything is moving to USB-C now, but I'll get over that. FYI: Mac users should be aware that 4k at 32 inches does turn the font quite small without scaling adjustments. That's fine for me as I sit quite close to the monitor but may present issues for other users. Do some research on pixels per inch and macbooks before you pull the trigger. Overall, I've never been happier with a monitor and would strongly recommend this purchase. Thank you Dell for stepping it up with this one.
