Great little coffee machine. The coffee is rich with a good crema (as long as you use decent properly ground coffee). The machine itself is quite narrow so it fits into fairly small spaces, (although the filter handle does stick out a bit). It's pretty simple to use, you need to buy pre-ground coffee or have a separate grinder. The only slight negative I found is that it drips for a while after dispensing the liquid, so don't be in a hurry.

Very flimsy. Hard to secure cup filter to coffee outlet. When you do secure it and make coffee - removing the filter holder becomes a problem. The filter holder and coffee pod become stuck to the machine every time when removingthe cup filter. Once I manage to free them from the cup filter, reattaching the pod filter to the filter holder is painful as the fitting is bad and your fingers get trapped whilst reattaching. I massively regret buying such a poorly designed machine. Previously had an illy x7.1 which lasted 3 years. I purchased this delongji machine as can use E.S.E pods which are recyclable. I wish I had purchased the illy machine again. Do not buy this machine it is awful!

This is our second Delonghi Cappucino maker. Our first was a gift in 2011 and when it stopped working after 11 years of excellent service we looked to another Delonghi machine to replace it. We liked the colour of this machine, but were insure if we wanted to pay the price. Having read the positive reviews we decided to purchase. We have not been disappointed. It makes lovely smooth cappucino's which are nicer than most we have purchased from coffee shops. The machine is quieter than our original, easy to use and produces coffee quickly.

Really easy to use. Love the metal blue colour. My husband managed to break a hinge on the water container in the first two days. Better to leave the container on and just fill it with a jug. Takes up little bench space. Only thing I’d say is that the machine is very light so when you put the group handle in you have to hold the machine down with the other hand or it skips about on the bench. Love the fact that it turns itself off after a certain time, since family forgets to turn the machine off most days. Overall good little machine.
I needed a new coffee machine and didn't want a capsule machine again. I bought this based on the price and the positive reviews. Having now used the machine for 2 weeks I am delighted with it. I think the quality is excellent, it feels really sturdy and it looks really good. It's no bigger than my previous capsule machine so doesn't take up too much counter space. I have mastered the technique quickly and very happy with the results. It also came with the coffee stamper and a metal jug which is a nice touch.
If you prefer freshly ground coffee rather than pods then this is the machine for you.Even though there is a milk frothing arm we have invested in a milk frother so that the milk can be warmed and frothed at the same time as you make your coffee so it makes the process quicker. We also use bottled water as we live in a hard water area and this avoids descaling and gives the coffee a nicer flavour. We have stuck with Lavazza as we were given a sample packet with our original purchase and find it the best coffee for this machineThe coffee comes out at the correct temperature and you can choose the strength unit you want. Superb coffee every time!
Pros: It looks gorgeous … that’s about itCons: It does not produce espresso , which is what it is supposed to do. The frother works great but unfortunately it makes for an expensive frother. I even tried swapping out the pressurized baskets for non pressurized ones but it still couldn’t push out enough coffee to get even a half decent espresso. Really really disappointed with this machine as I really wanted to love it. I have decided to return it.
I love my coffee . . . I mean I really love my coffee in the morning !Over the years I have had a number of "proper" coffee machines. This little DeLonghi is the best of the bunch by a country mile.It is a compact machine, slim on the counter top and the build quality and feel of the product is second to none. The water tank is located conveniently at the back and can either be removed to fill under a tap or you can pop the lid up and fill it from a container. The coffee holder has a good solid feel to it and locates easily and solidly to the machine. For tall cups the lower trays can be removed - a feature that is also handy for washing. The controls are easy to use and once you have figured out what button does what making a brew is second nature. The amount of fill the machine gives can be adjusted in time. I highly recomend reading the instructions fully and taking the time to programme it for your favourite coffee cup size.I mainly make double esspresso so don't often use the milk heating and frothing want but on the odd occasion I do fancy something different this feature is easy and quick to use and also easy to clean after use.The finish on the machine is lovely. I originally bought one of these about 3 years ago and in the red colour they were doing at the time. I wanted proper coffee at my work place so took the old red machine in to work and bought myself a spanky shiny new black one from John Lewis recently. I did look at other machines and read lots of reviews but in the end I opted for a second one of these because the machine for me really is that good.I think the best thing about the machine - as well as all the above - is of course the quality of the coffee it makes. It is rich, not bitter, has a creamy tasty Crema and is in essence the best coffee I drink - and that includes any of the coffee shops I have visited. So now I have my new black machine in the kitchen pride of place and my trusty older read machine is in the work kitchen and still going strong.Highly recomend this machine.
Pros: Price. It makes OK coffee but you get what you pay for. I have owned coffee machines from hundreds to thousands of pounds, domestic and professional. I have had this version for many years now in two locations so know it well in a motorhome and at home and on a staff canteen. I must have bought at least six. The price, styling and size is a major factor, but if you are a coffee connoisseur then the boiler pressure is not what you need and will frustrate you.Cons: Nasty plastic base that is metal on other versions of the same model. They tend to start leaking after a year or two of use. The base where the electrics are is impossible to get into as it need specialist tools so if, like my last one, the on off switch failed, I can’t mend it and was then ... MorePros: Price. I like that the machine is compact, great for my small kitchenette. It produces consistently good coffee, and warms up quite quickly to make it . I have found if I put too much coffee in, or compress the coffee too much, then there is not enough water pressure to force the coffee liquid through. Another good thing is that the machine does not get hot. I have used a more expensive all metal machine which gets very hot and can burn you quite badly if you are not careful; no such problems with this machine. I have not used the milk frother, as I have a jug frother which I use instead which I am happy with as it too gives consistent results..
