Brands I've purchased in the past as well as others.First impression of the DeLonghi Kettle & Toaster is that their pretty.The Toaster with the stunning red curved textued surface & the retro features of the Dial & Number Colour Shade Window finished off by splashes of Chrome making the DeLonghi Toaster quite elegant.I studied the online reviews written with many complaining of DeLonghi's two slice Toaster having many faults.Complaints that it only browned the bread on one side & required a second turn or several adjustments with the colour shade dial.Some of which had been replaced only to do it again.I would take my chance with this purchase even though the bad reviews outweighed the good.I checked all companies selling online to compare prices most around $140. finally deciding to purchase from Amazon AU for a terrific price in 'red only' for $60AU.I was also aware of Aust Post's delivery delays taking weeks from the Melbourne warehouse to far Nth Qld.I was still willing to wait as the price was terrific, over 60% off & I had free postage. How good is that ?As I mentioned I wasn't without a toaster just one doing half it's job.As you can see from my pix I have the DeLonghi Kettle, to replaced my four year old Sunbeam Kettle as it had started leaking.I purchased the Yellow DeLonghi Kettle online from my local Myers. Many hours to compare prices from many online sellers.Myers $119. Kettle was the cheapest down from $140AU, the red was sold out, so yellow it is.To get a matching colour Kettle for my red Toaster wasn't necessary, very happy with both the colours & the price.My honest opinion of the Toaster's performance is EXCELLENT, getting both sides of the bread toasted to my desired colour on '3' for regular bread as shown in the attached pix & '2.5' for raisin toast.Please note the right overturned triangle piece of toast shows the colour to my perfection.Only requiring one round to get even colour on both sides of the bread for my daily breakfast.Also a noticeable point is the lightness of pressure required to push the lever down.Another nice feature is the textured red coating making it even prettier.Now the only negative issue is the time it takes to boil when the Kettle is full 4mins.Not a drama as it produces a hotter boiling temperature than my previous kettle.The shape of the Kettle was the first thing I noticed when browsing the online shopping sites for purchase.The time viewing these electrical kitchen appliances had taken hours on the computer to compare prices & read all the reviews.The design of both these DeLonghi appliances stands out amongst the other brands.The shape of the Kettles comfortable handle makes for an easy pouring without any dribbling.This important safety feature is one I'm always wanting & expecting. Some other brands lack this causing problems for the user.The curved shape of the shiny yellow vessel has been designed with plenty of thought to not only function as an appliance to boil water but to be pleasing on the eye & not to be hidden away inside a kitchen cupboard but to be on display.Ok you must think it can't be perfect in every feature, well your right.The only negative part of the DeLonghi Kettle for me is the lifting of the chrome lid.Though it's firmly sitting pretty & high on top of the yellow opening, for me it requires quite a bit of effort & force to remove.Having to use both hands, one on the handle the other on the lid's chrome ball to remove it upwards & off the rim to fill with water. This difficult action requires me not to use the one cup boil I prefer, the time is reduced to complete the boiling.Means that I have my cuppa in a shorter time. This Kettle is 3mins also uses less electricity.The previous Sunbeam's Kettle to boil one cup was 2mins.So to avoid this I now fill the water to the vessels limit reducing the times I need to fill the Kettle throughout the day.My suggestion to make this Kettle one that can be used for all eligible age groups with ease is to have the chrome lid still on top but to have it attached to the yellow body.By having a thumb action lid opening hinge while holding the handle comfortably would not only be a safer option but makes it a one handed lift & fill action.This would be perfect.Designing the lid in this manner would greatly improve the already wonderful Kettle.Anyway I'm so glad I decided to purchase the DeLonghi Kettle & Toaster definitely the best 2020 decision I've had.I purchased my Kettle online on Wednesday & used their click & collect option on Thursday night from my local Myers.On arrived the 3 Myer staff were exceptional with their customer service, not only for me but for the 4 customers before me who were finalising their items.When it was my turn to be served all the staff were aware of my purchase, I suppose because it was so recent on their system.My Kettle had been bagged & tagged ready for me to take home.The next day my Toaster arrived ... wow! only five days since purchasing from Amazon AU, such an unexpected & pleasant surprise.So now as shown in the attached pix they both compliment each other sitting proudly on my kitchen bench ready for my everyday usage.Producing the perfect shade of toast ... finally after the 30 plus years of cooking toast, hooray.So people my true account of these products should help you decide which Kettle & Toaster you wish to purchase.I have one word for you - 'DeLonghi'You can't go wrong with a fellow Italian.Thanks DeLonghi, looking forward to many years of using these wonderful small appliances ... much appreciated ... My old white Variable temperature Smeg $250 after warranty finished,doesnt let me start need to push start many times and steam at the lid so dangerous. I bought it because its expensive I think I would last me long, the word S M E G it look nice only, great for display. Unless you pay extra 5 years warranty on top of $250 kettle. Bought new Delonghi price $129 is easy to pour and the matte handle less maintenance easy to hold. Its light, Ive chose yellow to match my kitchen pendant. Nice bright yellow. Hopefully Delonghi last me longer than Smeg

Love the colour of this kettle. Really brightens up a darkish kitchen. This is the second one I've bought; the first lasted about 4 years and it's turned on a million times a day for cups of tea, weed killing and hot water bottle filling. Love it. (Have the toaster to match too....). Quick delivery from DJ's also - thank you!
