I did a lot of research before purchasing this bean to cup machine. I wanted a built in bean grinder and the ability to steam (not foam) milk. This seemed the best option for my price range. The negatives first - brushed steel. Looks great initially but it gets marks on it so easily - even water marks. When you wipe even with a soft cloth, it takes the polish off the surface which makes me think it's cheap. You do need to do some research on what dosage to use, the temperature for the bean roast and also setting your water hardness. Having done all of that, I have managed to get a good decaff and full caffeine espresso with crema quite quickly. I do wish the temperature of the coffee was higher as I have to add hot water to it to make it hot enough. This machine is ... MoreI did a lot of research before purchasing this bean to cup machine. This machine is also better for one or two people but if you were making more than that, you have to keep going through the process so it could take a bit of time. Getting the hang of the steam wand is an art and again I watched many videos. It isn't a huge jug so it only gives a relatively small amount of milk for the coffee. All in all, I am pleased with it but I wouldn't give it 10/10 - maybe 8/10.

Pros: Produces nice coffee once you’ve adjusted the grind settings. Easy to clean and use. Panarello wand can be removed if you have barista skills to froth the milk better without it, eg for a flat white. Not noticed much difference but then I’m not a barista! Froths and heats the milk well for latte/cappuccino but still trying to master a flat white! Will make 2 drinks with same amount of coffee for both so they’re as strong as it would be for one drink. Separate Shute for ground coffee works well. Cons: Need an alert for when coffee beans are running low - as it stands, it will grind what’s on the dumper bit of there’s not enough, it just dumps the grounds which is a waste. Most of these BTC machines are noisy including this one so daren’t use it late at night. I ... MorePros: Produces nice coffee once you’ve adjusted the grind settings. Easy to clean and use. Barista quality.
21 January 2022

Really nice quality. Takes a little bit of effort to get it set up exactly as you might like it. I've some experience of similar machines so it took me about five cups to get it pretty much perfect for us. Obviously the quality of beans it critical to the end result but you can still get about a 100 cups for the price of two large coffees from one of the big chains. Love the machine and everyone in the family has given it full marks. With three of us working from home it's been a much needed moral booster. If you like good coffee and are prepared to take a little time and make a bit of effort to get it right then this is definitely the machine for you. No pods makes it much more environmentally friendly and the used grounds are great compost.

4 February 2023

Pros: It looks good on my worktop. Cons: Complicated instructions. Couldn't make a drinkable coffee with the ground option, so had to buy coffee beans. I have the strongest beans I can buy and the coffee strength knob turned as far as possible, but it's not strong enough. I don't normally have my coffee very strong, but this is too weak.Had to descale the machine after 3 weeks of use, which was a real pain. It's very hit and miss whether you are going to get a decent drink or not. Tried to ring DeLonghi for advice but gave up as I couldn't get through to speak to anyone.

Makes great coffee - excellent machine
28 July 2022

Am very pleased with this coffee machine. Makes a great espresso. Froths the milk well. I especially like the added bonus of the small storage compartment at the top. The instructions could do with being a little more in depth to help with hitting the optimum coffee zone. I did check out some of the Delonghi 'how to' videos on YouTube to help make better cappuccinos and lattes. The machine itself is excellent. Definitely worth five stars.

13 January 2023

Pros: Easy to use, drinks temperature (including milk) very hot if required. Bean grinder can be adjusted in terms of amount of beans per cup, and also coffee strength can be adjusted. Milk frother works well and is not as temperamental as some I have used. Looks very attractive on the worktop. Cons: Water reservoir is on small side so requires refilling quite frequently. Drip tray also fills quite fast partly due to the cleaning before and after use. Took me some time to get the adjustments right for the way I like my coffee - especially the grinder adjusting which feels a bit hit and miss.

Nice machine but not working after less than a month!
14 January 2022

I received this as a Christmas gift and we started using it on Christmas Day. Initially it worked well. The coffee isn't very strong (despite being on max setting) as it pulls a lot of water through but it was a good coffee and easy to use. Unfortunately the good stops there. After only a week the machine stopped pulling coffee through when using the grounds compartment so we couldn't make decaf. It then stopped pulling the coffee through, so we would just get water. I've been even more disappointed with JL customer service (which is usually fantastic) as they are failing to honour the Christmas returns policy because it is a faulty machine so I have to wait a month for delonghi to look at it! Terrific Coffee Machine
12 May 2022

I love this machine, it makes absolutely great coffee. I wanted a bean to cup machine and this one does not disappoint and, it is not too big, I not a one for reading instructions but with this machine it is important you do! There is an easy to follow guide that comes with it. Once you have set your water hardness, where the beans go, how you like your coffee ground and, what size coffee you like you're good to go. Really simple to use once set up. I am absolutely delighted with it, it the machine looks good and makes great coffee.

3 March 2023

Pros: Easy to set up and use and consistent strength of coffee. Cons: Would prefer to have more control over the volume of liquid . This machine has set amounts that are produced as set on the dial - single double etc . The previous machine had a dial on the front whereby you could turn it to increase/decrease the amount of water ( make it stronger smaller measure or weaker larger measure ) . Whilst the quality of the coffee produced is always good and there is a strength setting I would prefer greater control
