I hesitated to purchase this product for a long time based on a negative review that was posted here. I am glad I eventually decided to see for myself and ordered it. In my experience, this pan cleans up easily and beautifully. I have several Demeyere stainless steel pots and pans in both 7-ply and 5-ply and love them all. Fool proof clean up is to pour on a little warm/hot water on these pans while they are still hot and leave them to soak while you enjoy your food. When ready for clean up, the residue will come off with little effort. These are not coated non-stick -- but the surface is slick and stick resistant. The only thing I regret about this particular teppanyaki is that I would have preferred the larger size, but this is still fine for my needs. I didn't really have to scrub it. Some Bar Keepers Friend would make it shine, but I didn't even bother. Its ready to go for next time.

The product description promotes an easy to clean feature as it employs an unique alloy. Well after using this griddle only once on low-medium heat to cook pancakes, it is impossible to clean. We use a nylon anti-scratch pad and Bon-Ami on our All-Clad stainless and it cleans up in a snap. 30 minutes effort on this griddle is futile. Extremely disappointed. Are waiting for a response from zwilling warranty support to return for a refund.
the plancha distributes heat very well. it is physically beautiful and shiny. on my first use I cooked hamburgers and the plancha was surprisingly to clean
