I've purchased 3X of these and they work just fine for my small place. I'm not looking for a PA system or even have the proper room for satellite speakers. the DOLBY ATMOS and Bluetooth are AWESOME !! And this thing sounds amazing! Built-in BASS that drops as low as 42db according to the YouTube test. You can also add an additional bass-box if you need it.

I kinda take it shortly, the sound is over average nice ,manageable by connected device in depth, it's just a pint pointing but any device connected hdmi optical jack BT ,you start rising the volume on soundbar it's quiet until 2.5 dots then it's loud enough, sorry me but 3D sound or dolby Atmos impression is kinda at placebo levels ,,, so it's only kodeks no sound effects????? I wish Denon can manage an easy app and some adjustments in volume display in next USB update :) please ?!!! In 2023 who don't have AAC kodek in bluetooth audio ??? Cheap 6€ BT transmitter , . So I give 4 stars for sound quality ,5 for ease of use because just plug it in and go,set up too, and appearance and design I give 3 I meant visual it looks like any other Philips ,Sony , blablabla you name it ,it's visual side needs to sell that built-in subwoofer because in some site they don't write it in specs lot of peoples don't know it can sound good even better than mainstream JBL , I wasn't measuring this yet but I think volume output is somewhere around 40-50watts related to 3way regal speakers ,so it's full filling room audio on 25metres square, I really appreciate that I don't see any passive radiators or how they call it ... Comes with bunch of cables ,hdmi ,optic, 3.5mm jack ,and the led light is soft in night it's not intrusive ok enough:)))

I bought this from a different retailer. It's a great soundbar for a bedroom. I have a Google Chromecast 4k that i have connected via the pass through. Having this vs just using the tv speakers is a great improvement. The bass is more than adequate on its own . If you want more bass, it has an option to add a subwoofer .

I will BUY another NEW one to replace the defective one BUT the (1) that did/does work sounds AWESOME for my "little" space. BUT - - You should really buy a shelf for this thing. I felt like a was going to fall off the wall, even though I'm pretty good about that, NOPE! Only found a 36" X 4" picture frame shelf at MENARDS. I had to cut 3" holes in the bottom for BASS ACCESS. Most likely paint it soon. This is rough-cut pix - >> But now, it's not going anywhere and hung directly under TV. As you can see there is a 1/2 " lip on the front-side of the shelf. The bottom feet rubber pads, holds the unit in place and keeps it from falling off the front. I purchased this directly on the Denon site since they were running a sale at the time, and I’ve gotta say, I’m thoroughly impressed. Setup is literally as easy as plugging it into your arc/eArc port on the tv and thats it. You may have to adjust some settings on tour tv to fic any audio delays, but once it’s set, it works effortlessly. The design is sleek and minimalistic and it feels premium which is always nice. Now onto the more important part… sound. This thing sounds great and can honestly put out some serious bass. I was pleasantly surpised at how much when I listened to music for the first time with it. The built in subwoofers add a nice kick without being overly sub-bassy or distorted. This was the replacement for the Sonos Beam Gen 2 I had previously and absolutely hated, and so far, it’s been such a more pleasant experience at less of a cost than the Sonos. There is indeed a sub out port if you wanted to connect an external subwoofer as well! I’ve had the chance of test out the Atmos capabilities briefly and while of course it isn’t going to be comparible to a dedicated surround system, just the lossless audio quality alone really adds to the experience. It sounds great while playing fast paced games like Battlefront 2 as well as slower cinematic games like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. I’ve been very happy with the purchase so far, and hope to continue to use it for years to come. Very nice unit by Denon here. I like to think of myself as an audiophile, but even my girlfriend who casually listens to music and watches basic tv things it sounds and looks incredible. I definitely recommend.
My old sound bar had a separate subwoofer and it caused my neighbours to complain about the bass. This denon sound bar has the subwoofers built in and it doesn’t bother my neighbours. You can still add a subwoofer if you want better bass response. My only minor complaint is the minimalist display especially with volume level.
Solidly built entry level sound bar for bedrooms and similar sized spaces. Includes subwoofer out connection not typical for sound bars in this price range. Built-in down firing base speakers, so placement on a table or shelf is preferred for max space.Good sound quality but spatially not as exciting as a multi speaker 5.1 system, again not a surprise for entry level sound bars, so adjust your expectations. The reason for the 3-star is two fold - one a HDMI connection without eARC, requires the sound bar to be powered on. Additionally, there is no graphical display on the TV for sound changes.
I wanted to scale down my bulky tower speaker entertainment system for a small living room. This works well. Mostly I try to keep the volume to a minimum, and that's not a problem, especially with the night setting on. I have been using Dialog Enhancer, but I wish there was more documentation about it. Apparently that setting and Night cannot both work at the same time. One major question I have is: when, if ever, is Dialog Enhancer reset to the default? And more importantly, WHAT IS the default setting? I assume it is Low, but I would appreciate an official answer to that. Since there is no display, I don't know where to find this information.
I wanted to like this. If you’re going to buy a soundbar why not make it a Denon? Well, because it’s still a soundbar. No lows. No highs. Nothing but midrange. You can buy a 2.1 stereo setup that sounds a great deal better for less.

That said, when I first put this speaker to use I was so underwhelmed. Rightfully so, it's a single soundbar for under $250. But the longer I listen to this, the more I have come to appreciate all the things packed into this little engineering wonder. It's perfect for an apartment. I choose not to plug my subwoofer up to this thing (that would have have surely got me kicked to the curb) but it's a great option to have. It supports Dolby atmos as well as 4k and video pass through.
