Dental Lace is a refillable dental floss and 99% zero waste product. A glass container with a stainless-steel cap holds floss that is 100% Mulberry silk. The refill bags are certified compostable and the boxes are 100% post-consumer paperboard. The container can be re-used, the bags composted, the boxes recycled and the floss biodegrades. The only waste is the waterproof label on the container, which stays on the reusable container. Candelilla wax is vegan. It is squeezed from the leaves of the Candelilla shrub. I want to love this product but it breaks and gets stuck in my teeth. On several occasions I’ve needed tweezers to remove. As much as I would like to buy again, this product does not work for me.

Hate those plastic throw away containers. This is great. No reason to ever buy any other floss.
I want to love this product but it breaks and gets stuck in my teeth. On several occasions I’ve needed tweezers to remove. As much as I would like to buy again, this product does not work for me.
Cleans well but breaks easily.
Glass container replacing plastic is great but silk thread shreds and breaks easily. Why not spool Glide-like thread instead that slips between teeth easily and flosses better!
It’s so difficult to find products that are both environmentally friendly & animal cruelty free without sacrificing quality. The flossing experience is great & it can go in your compost.
As a daily flosser, I recently realised how much waste I was generating with my nylon floss (it would take nearly my entire lifetime to decompose)!! I am so happy with this alternative option! The packaging is minimalist, it will pack very easily for travel and the quality is good - I do find the floss "breaks" easier but I'm willing to make that sacrifice knowing it's better for the environment. I even bought 2 - thanks Lochtree!
This is the dental floss for me! The company has made improvements to their silk floss, making it thicker and much stronger. Now, it doesn't break between my teeth ~ I can floss my entire mouth with one strand. I love that it is totally compostable, I just throw it in my compost bin after use. In addition, their customer service is excellent. I was contacted several times when I wrote that I had issues with their other floss (original silk broke in my teeth, vegan charcoal was not compostable), and it seems they made changes based on my (and others') feedback.
Zero waste dental floss is a wonderful idea, but unfortunately it shredded for us -- worked only between a few teeth that had more space between them. So we're back to our usual floss that works great, but pollutes. Maybe Dental Lace would work well for children and others whose teeth are farther apart.
