Derwent Inktense Pencils provide a unique drawing and painterly experience. Their core is pigment-based and extremely soluble in water, but unlike watercolour pencils, when you add water the core transforms to an ink-like wash. Once the wash dries, it is permanent and cannot be rewetted. Ideal for layering, Derwent Inktense Pencils are highly pigmented and are bright, vibrant colours. Easily create transparent washes by adding water and simply adjust the amount of water to producing varying dark to light tones. The 4mm core of Derwent Inktense Pencils enables broad colour laydown and the sharp point is ideal for fine detail. The round shape of the barrel ensures a smooth experience. Ideal for artists, designers, illustrators, crafters and hobbyists. Derwent Inktense Pencils can even be used on fabric! The fabric does not need to be pre-treated, simply apply the colour directly to the fabric, dissolve the pigment with water and allow to dry. Once dry, the colour will become permanent if all the colour has been fully dissolved/washed out and there are no pencil marks left on the fabric. The fabric should be hand washed, without detergent, at a cool temperature. The pencils work beautifully with Derwent Inktense Blocks to add new texture and dimension to your artwork.
