I generally don't purchase fancy paper like this as I am a very inexperienced and just draw/color for fun/stress relief. This paper is meant to be used with the same brand colored pencils but I tried it with another brand. I found the paper to be so easy to work on and was able to do blending that I've never done before.

This paper is so awesome. It's heavy duty and definitely feels like quality paper. It's really good for color pencils. Obviously the oil ones which are suggested. Others work well too. The colors really blend and look great. The tablet itself is a bit pricey. But it's a lot better quality then some others. If you really like do do artwork with color pencils then you should try this paper out!

Being a traditional artist, I've tried my fair share of paper from different brands. But after trying this paper with a few portrait drawings, I'm blown away by its quality. This paper is absolutely amazing! Although I didn't use the lightfast pencils with it, it still wonderful to use. My pencils glided across the paper so smoothly but surprisingly there was still a bit of texture. Love this paper!

This paper in combination with the lightfast pencils is absolutely amazing. You can layer the pencils and have smooth, perfect blending. The paper is 100% cotton hot press and it's very study and thick. My little artist likes to be like mommy and even her artwork looks wonderful on this paper!!
I had two sample sheets of this paper which I used with DerWent Lightfast colored pencils. Both pieces came out good. It was nice to work on. Basically, a hot press cotton paper. It was smooth enough to allow for details yet still took layers well. It is more of a cream color than a white. I liked it enough to purchase a pad after using the two sample sheets I had. It is not cheap paper, but I think it is worth the investment for a finished piece of art. #sweepstakes
Not sure what I expected when I got this, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The paper was thick and the pencil I used worked perfectly on it, giving it great lines and looked good. In fact, it was better than the standard I usually get for such things. The drawings come out looking quite professional looking because of the paper (despite my lack of skill with such things). It did everything the very expensive drawing tablets do. Very pleased with it and would highly recommend. The only 'problem' I had with it was the top of the tablet, where the cover is glued on, came loose the second time I opened it. While it stayed on, the main part came unglued. Of course, I glued it back down to protect what is saved in there, but a bit better glue on it would be ... MoreNot sure what I expected when I got this, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The paper was thick and the pencil I used worked perfectly on it, giving it great lines and looked good. Great, great product that his high quality.
I love this paper ! It has enough tooth to allow me to use many layers of my colored pencils. Layering is important when it comes to realistic drawings.
This Lightfast Derwent paper feels very nice. It's 100% cotton, a good density, and takes color well. The biggest perk is that it claims to not fade for up to 100 years. I don't feel like I can give this the most accurate review though, as I don't have the Derwent 100% Lightfast pencils. They are highly recommended for this product and are what contribute to the fade resistancy. I would recommend but personally wouldn't purchase this paper again because it cost 3x as much as the paper I regularly use as.
I love that this paper is 100% cotton and is Naturally white (no bleaching). It's also acid free, so you know your artwork will last for many, many years. I haven't tried the Derwent Lightfast colored pencils, but the description on Derwent's webpage says that "Artwork won't fade for up to 100 years when used with Derwent Lightfast colored pencils", and I believe it. You can tell just by the feel of this paper that it is if superior quality. I would definitely recommend this product.
When I first recieved the art pad I wasn't real impressed. Mostly because it said something about it being used for blending of oil- based pencils - which I don't have. But then I decided to just play around with it & try different mediums that I DO have. I've got to tell you, this is really nice art paper. I use water colors, stamping ink & micas, along with regular colored pencils & alcohol markers. The blending properties of this paper is exceptional. The cotton makes the paper smooth & easy to work with. Very much worth giving the chance to try new techniques for the hobbies/crafter. I'm definitely a fan!
