As the number of devices on my network continued to grow, I ran out of available switch ports on my home router. I needed to buy an inexpensive switch but wanted to
maintain Gigabit speeds. At $19.99, this was an absolute no-brainer. Installation couldn't get any easier. Power the switch, cross connect it with your router with an ethernet
cable and then plug devices into the remaining open ports. Done. While it doesn't offer any of the sophisticated capabilities that an IT professional might desire... this just
plain works. Recommended.

Better than expected. Purchased because of low price. Well packaged, light weight. So far (a few months in use) all working great, no dead ports, two connected over a very
long cable run (400+ feet) without packet loss.

Completely seamless install, at least for me. I should mention I'm a tech guy, but not as deep as many others. When it came to needing a network switch, it was simply that
our new router only had two ports and I have many hard-wired devices (a printer, a PC, three smart home hubs, occasionally other devices). Pros: + so easy to install it's
ridiculous; you can plug the 'in' to any of the ports, all the rest can be 'out' + no setup required really, just plug and play + no fooling around with additional settings either, it
works straight out of the box + good value, I bought the open-box version from Home Essentials Direct and it seemed brand new + good speed, I haven't notice... Show more

Works flawlessly. As I said, I am not a super-deep technical person so I can't comment on additional features of a switch beyond the fact that this one works for me, I had too many hard-wired devices and needed this to connect them all.... Do Not Waste Your Time - Spend a Little Moe and Get Results
8 March 2021
It does not recognize nor accept a single additional lead. Stated another way, it will not assign an appropriate IP address to one additional connection. It will not connect my computer and my 2021WebTV by LG. Basically, the WebTV is happy with the connection provided by my cable company and works well with no TP-Link LS1005G. It also works ok with the TP-Link attached (provided nothing else is attached). When the computer is attached to the TP-Link LS1005G, the computer does not get connected to the internet. You can follow all the blah, blah, blah by TP-Link but no connection is accomplished. I value my time more than this idiotic wasteful exercise.... Show more

I have been using this switch for about a month to connect my brothers and my computer to the the BT Homehub we have downstairs. The reason I use this switch is because I was only allowed to use Ethernet under 2 conditions: My brother had to get Ethernet too and there could only be 1 cable going upstairs. - my £6 project had now turned into a £25 project and I was on a budget as I am 16 and do not yet have a job - or money. This switch was cheap and had good reviews so I decided to buy it. Me and my brother both play games and browse the web so we needed to both have a good speed connection, which we were not getting on WiFi. This switch was cheap and had good reviews so I decided to buy it. Me and my brother both play games and browse the web so we needed to both have a good speed connection, which we were not getting on WiFi. This switch enables me to connect the router to a port, then up to 4 computers to ports and connect them all the the internet. Unfortunately, the connection speed is not shared evenly between the computers accessing the internet so one persons speed will be reduced if 2 are both using high bandwidth at the same time - my normally 70mbps was split between my brother and me so he got 55mbps and I got 15mbps when running a speed test on both computers. However, when using just 1 computer I am able to fully saturate my 70mbps download and 20mpbs upload connection provided by my isp, taking the switch out of the loop and using a direct Ethernet makes no noticeable difference to the speed. The switch runs cool, I can only feel a very slight warmth in the middle when I rest my hand on top and has usage LED's so I can see when the connection is idling or is in use by the rate of flashing :p Overall I highly recommend this switch to anyone who wants to network computers or connect multiple computers to the internet at once with only a single slot on the router.... I have purchased this switch to expand my office with 2 PC’s. The unit is sleek and small. The spec’s said it is energy saving. I work from home using VPN and VoIP. With only one PC connected and turned on I am experiencing jitter on VoIP (Cisco Jabber). Once I eliminate the switch and connected it directly to router the VNP VoIP works perfect. Can’t return it since I missed the dead-line within 7 days. I am a surprised that a layer 2 device “Switch” can’t keep up with 1 device.... Show more

This is pretty much my go to when I need a simple unmanaged switch for my network or one I’m helping somebody set up. This thing has always just worked without the need for any drivers or set up beyond plugging it in. Remember that one port will be used to connect the switch to the network when you are figuring out how many ports you will need. The body is light plastic and you can easily mount it using the built in mount points or it is also possible to stick Velcro on for a movable mounting solution. This is an entry level model, it does not have any management or qos features. If you found my review helpful please click the button below.... Show more

When I first set this up I was dissapointed with the results. I checked the adapter setting at my desktop and the file server and I noticed they were still set to 100Mbps. I was connected to the server with a comtrend powerline adapter. I pulled out the powerline adaptors and connected to the server via the switch with new Cat6 ethernet cables. The adaptors immediately set themselves to 1Gbps. Data transmission speeds- Wireless 802.11g - old wireless card in my desktop - 0.75 MBytes per second - paint dries faster.
