Pretty easy to install with the desk upside down. Not sure how easy it'd be to install if the desk can't be flipped. The issue I have with it, is although it can take a whole load of gear, when heavily loaded (in total about 11 AC powered devices, several heavy power transformers, an 8 port ethernet switch, USB powerboard outlet, 8 x power AC plus another power board), the screw in the centre does start to sag just a tiny bit, making it hard for the side 'latches' to automatically engage. I find I have to push it to one side slightly, in order to get it to 'catch' and stay upright. I have probably overloaded it, though, so don't be put off by this. In total, this integrated power channel with 8 x AC outlets allows me to power a total of 16 devices on my desk.I think it could be neat if it also came with some kind of 'ribbon' to wrap around any bundle of cables you have which need to go back down to floor level.Overall, this is a pretty much essential item. I feel like I can 'dop/swing' it down at a later date to change over any leads or connections I need to change, without major dramas, and then neatly tuck everything all back in. The process of concealing all the otherwise loose and dangling cables did take a while, at least an hour or so. But, I do have a ridiculous number of devices on the desk, and am glad I did it.

Hi Desky Team,I bought the single standing desk and the cable management tray. While the desktop is great and works amazing, the cable management tray is a nightmare to push it into position after installation. When I push it up to lock it into position with the spring bolts, it just refuses to budge and keeps hitting the edges of the frame. I had to loosen the centre screw to finally lock it in and then again tighten the screw. Honestly for me its defeated the purpose for easy release and manage cables concept for which I bought.

I installed the integrated cable channel recently on a 1800cm wide table. Overall the quality is good and while it was easy to setup, the two things I had issues with were:1. The middle screw that keeps the two panels together. I think this is ok for a thinner desk - maybe the 1500cm and below, but it feels a little flimsy for the larger version.2. One of the spring loaded release screws hasn't been able to screw in all the way. I'll reach out to desky to see if they can send through another one.

An excellent addition to a beautiful desk, but not without its annoyances on the 1200mm Desky.Perhaps better suited to larger size desks, this addition got in the way of setting up my Pheasantwood Desky as I have detailed in my other review. Yet, while I consider it worth it, it has a few other idiosyncrasies that are not documented and are worth being aware of.When planning to install it on the 1200mm Desky, there are only a few places that the 4 Point Powerboard can actually fit. This in of itself is not an issue, as cables easily reach the Powerboard when centrally mounted.Worth noting, though, is that the moment you install the Powerboard, the telescopic nature of the Power Channel is eliminated. This in of itself is not an issue, as cables easily reach the Powerboard when centrally mounted.Worth noting, though, is that the moment you install the Powerboard, the telescopic nature of the Power Channel is eliminated. The little screw, designed to hold it at the correct length, is obsolete. This becomes significant if you want computer cables to pass through the gap between the power channel and the underside of the desk. If you haven't thought to put your computer cable (with power point on one end and computer plug at the other) through this small gap before attaching the Channel to the desk, then it's not just a matter of unscrewing the Channel and sliding it off its mounting points like is depicted in one of the online videos, because the power board inhibits this. You actually have to remove the powerboard to be able retract the Channel and unhook one side simply to slide a new cable into this gap. In that the Desky is heavy, and already the right way up, accessing and unclipping this powerboard from this position was a job!Once installed it's terrific. I don't imagine I'm going to need much more on top of this desk. But if I do, then I'll need to go through that process again. So not perfect, but I like what it does.
I bought one of these for my 2 meter sit/stand desk, with 4 of the Elsafe Plugin Power Boards. I have a lot of equipment that requires many power outlets for my set up. The channel trayextends to the length of the desk just fine. The problem I have with it is twofold:1) It wasn't made with using this many power boards in mind. Whilst 3 of the power boards lock into place from the outside just fine, the 4th won't because of a support bar that is in the way when extended to the correct length for this desk. As a solution i have to either put the 4th power board inside in the tray, (meaning it is not locked into position), or I have to physically alter the channel by cutting the metal bar that is in the way.2) As a result of so many power boards and cables, the ... MoreI bought one of these for my 2 meter sit/stand desk, with 4 of the Elsafe Plugin Power Boards. As a solution i have to either put the 4th power board inside in the tray, (meaning it is not locked into position), or I have to physically alter the channel by cutting the metal bar that is in the way.2) As a result of so many power boards and cables, the weight inside the tray at this length causes the tray to sag in the middle. There needs to be a way of supporting it in the middle through the use of some kind of center bracket or hook. Also as a result of the weight, the quick release screws holding it up on either end detatch very easily. I've been informed that these will shortly be replaced with longer ones which should solve that issue.Having said all that, the cable and power channel still does it's job. I just don't have much faith that it will stay in place over the long term. Hopefully the engineers can improve on the design with this feedback in mind.
I purchased the Softwood American Rustic Pine, the desk is excellent and has been a game changer for my productivity and overall work experience. The desk is quite stable and aesthetic, the parts are heavy and feel premium. The only problem I had was with the assembly process which took a bit longer than expected because some of the pre-drilled holes were blocked with some sort of glue, not a big problem but the overall assembly process was significantly impacted. The other thing is that I was sent the old model of the desk controller, without Bluetooth capabilities, this was quickly addressed by Desky and I received the new controller a couple of days later.Overall, I am delighted with the desk and it is a must for everyone that wants to improve their workspace ... MoreI purchased the Softwood American Rustic Pine, the desk is excellent and has been a game changer for my productivity and overall work experience. The Cable management channel stretches across all the way to the legs of the frame; giving it a clean and tidy look for storing all your cables and power bricks. There are cutouts in which you can feed in and out cables depending on how you are doing your set-up. If you spend some time in figuring out your set-up you will definitely achieve a clean look. The channel is spring-released and once you are done with it, you can lock it in and tuck all the cables/bricks in. I also have the 8-slot power board add-on which are clipped in (which I highly recommend) - Anything that you constantly use on your desk, can be plugged in here (e.g. the desky motor, monitors, speakers, docks, etc.) and you can be sure it won't be caught up with any cable accidents when you bring ... MoreThe Cable management channel stretches across all the way to the legs of the frame; giving it a clean and tidy look for storing all your cables and power bricks. I was impressed by how every piece lined up and fitted almost perfe into place. I have been using it for about a week now, and it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to. Furthermore, the single motor seems to have plenty of power (I have multiple monitor setup and a heavy rig). Can be a bit wobbly on carpet. Cable management tray add-on does a really good job when in place but took me while to set that up as the spring loaded screw isn’t long enough to comfortably hold the tray. So I had to jimmy the thing a fair bit to get it to work.
If you're considering shelling out over $900 for a desk, I would definitely recommend getting the cable tray and both power boards giving you 8 outlets as you can never have enough. The desk itself has quite a few cables and when adding in your own equipment, there would be cables everywhere otherwise. The tray has pretty much eliminated all the clutter. The power boards snap into the tray quite easily but very difficult to get out so be careful when placing them. Attaching them together was a bit tricky, I didn't think it worked at first but the connectors have to go in a particular way. You should hear a definite click. It's what really separates this desk from the others.
I bought this for my new 2m hardwood sit/stand desk, together with 4 of the Elsafe Plugin Power Boards (4 outlets on each). The 4th will not fit into the remaining space from the outside because of a supporting bar being in the way when extended to this length (for 2m desk)2) Having this many power boards means a lot of weight inside the tray from the power boards, their connecting cables, and the cables of all the equipment. As a result the tray sags slightly in the middle. It need some kind of supporting brace or bracket in the middle to bear some of the weight. As a result, more weight than necessary is put on the quick release screw on either end, making them pull out easier than they should.Having said all that, the customer support was fantastic. Theo was really helpful in trying to provide solutions given the shortcomings of this tray for my unique setup. He sent me extra components to try to help alleviate those issues which was much appreciated.Hopefully this feedback will provide some insight to the team to help refine the design of this tray for larger desks. I will certainly keep my eye out on future revisions.
