My previous Deuter rucksack has lasted 20 + years. It had the mesh frame that keeps your back bone dry whether cycling or walking. So I looked for the same again and found it in the Futura 27. I went a little bigger in size as I occasionally ride to work with laptop and sundry files so need it. Great design and execution.

Great bag. I got it in green and its a great color. Bag is built incredibly well and fits great. The aircomfort mesh back thing is standout. Everything was thought out in this bag save one issue, bladder hose mounting. My bladder fits fine but the hose is too long causing kinks sometimes. Also the hose comes out of the left side and there is nowhere to secure the nozzle on the strap. Excluding that issue Everything has been well thought out!

I had the older Futura 28 with the two separate main compartments and absolutely loved this pack. I used it to house my camera gear in the top compartment and my hiking gear and jacket in the bottom. This made it easy to access gear for either need. It’s unfortunate a pack in this size and configuration is no longer available. I loved the zipper top for getting camera gear in and out without having to deal with a top load flap and draw string to keep it tight. Made everything quick to access.Mine was recently stolen and I am trying to source a replacement. Am I correct in that this configuration has been discontinued? Or do you know of a source I could purchase the older style still?
Great pack for EDC, It goes where I go. It has enough space for commonly carried items. I purchased the green hue so I can multi-use this pack. I used to have a camo badlands day pack for hunting but have decided to move towards one pack and just adjust the contents to suit whatever activity it is that I am participating in. I would not recommend this pack for a large framed person, I am 5'9" @ 150 lbs and am close to the max chest adjustment on this pack. The only thing I would change on the pack is to lengthen the hip saddles. High quality and well thought out otherwise.
I needed a larger pack to fit winter layers and this 27 L pack with its convenient pockets fits the bill. I took it on our Alpen hiking trip and was able to pack all my hiking clothes and use it as a carry-on. It has a good sized main compartment, and the second space is well appointed with a zip pocket and a webbed slip pocket. The stretch material on the front of the pack and the side pocket allows for lots of quick stash space beyond just water bottles. I love having two zip pockets on the waist belt and found them big enough to hold my phone and snacks. Above all, the frame holds the pack away from your back to allow great air flow on hot days.
Seems solid but we returned this because it felt short to the 6tf-tall wearer. He thought the weight sat too high on his back. This isn’t a defect just a good reason to try before buying, or buy from a retailer with no-hassle returns like altitude.
So sad, I wanted a yellow hiking pack like the one shown. The pack in person is not close at all to the photos. It is a lime green color. So sad I was so excited.
This is a well constructed and designed bag. The mesh back makes it more breathable than most. Lots of thought went into the pockets, loops, etc. I've been using older version of this bag for years for day use and airline travel. This latest version does not disappoint.
