The one star rating isn't for the product. That's the usual DeWalt quality. The one star rating relates for DeWalt's sneaky underhand ways in reducing the warranty on their products from three years (we all thought that was the case didn't we) to a year on anything with a battery. Very poor customer service and relations from DeWalt there. You don't find out until you go and try to register your device.. even FFX, who I bought the nail gun from, were totally unaware of what DeWalt had been up to!

This tool is well worth the cash. 18 Gauge pins 50mm long with no problem and a very small finishing hole. Excellent. Finally got rid of my compressor.

Great don't no how I've lived without one skirting so tight to wall I didn't even have to caulk them.Also good for slat wall jobs so tool is getting plenty of use 18ga leaving a really small nail hole or imprint hardly noticeable. Much better then the 16ga but remember 18ga nails are thinner.
The DeWalt DCN680N-XJ 18V XR is fairly light weight for its size and easy to use. It delivers nails accurately and consistently, with little kick back.Glad to have one.
This was a replacement for my Ryobi nail gun. It was primarily used for cladding western red cedar to the fromt of my house.Overall the gun performs well and seems alot more punchier than the ryobi which was to be expected I supposeThe downside I found was that it was leaving a mark on the wood where the ryobi wasn’t. I checked and also changed the plastic guard, but it still left a mark where the plastic was dragging slightly due to the recoil.I think Dewalt need to rethink and redesign the plastic part which presses against the wood
Great product as expected. Easy to use and set up varying depth for different materials usage. Used with a 2.0ah battery and lasted longer than I was expecting which was a bonus

You may wonder why you would pay more money for a brad nailer rather than a second fix. The difference is all down to the tool tip and the magazine. They are otherwise identical. The brad nailer takes smaller, 18ga nails, whereas the second-fix takes larger 16ga nails. The brad has an accurate tip, the second-fix a bump tip. Oh, and the second-fix, the magazine is slightly longer, so it will only fit in a special TSTAK. It will not fit in any normal TSTAK. The price difference really comes down to popularity. The second-fix is more popular, so you can always find a better discount. Being able to use shorter nails was a serious advantage to me, so it was worth the extra money for the brad. I know it’s an expensive tool for diy, however it saves so much time and effort which in the long term has to be a great saving.It’s surprisingly light and l managed to use it finishing raised flower bed which look stunning without a sight of a screw head or nail.
