For a number of years I had been using a battery operated Circular Saw by a different manufacturer whose batteries fit 18+ of their machines.I didn’t have this machine from new and it was beginning to show its age.My Son and his friend had recently bought DeWalt tools and I particularly liked the no brushes (brushless) aspect of them. I decided to take the plunge and buy DeWalt, something I was a little hesitant to do because of my experiences with their drills from years ago. Let's just say, I'm glad that I let bygones be bygones! Fantastic tools, if just a little pricey. The Circular Saw benefits from having air brake stopping (take your finger off the trigger and it stops immediately!).To date, I now own the Circular Saw, Multitool, SDS Drill and standard hand ... MoreFor a number of years I had been using a battery operated Circular Saw by a different manufacturer whose batteries fit 18+ of their machines.I didn’t have this machine from new and it was beginning to show its age.My Son and his friend had recently bought DeWalt tools and I particularly liked the no brushes (brushless) aspect of them. Obviously circular saws in this class have their limitations in tems of power, but I did manage to saw lots of wood length ways to provide a shamphere. Rested the saw occasionally also needed to rotate charged batteries but succeeded.Previous Dewalt saw was slightly lighter and a bit eaiser to use in a non standard (unapproved) way, like cut a straight top line on a new feather edge fence.

I purchased this saw to cut railway sleepers for a large garden project i was working on. I bought a fine toothed blade to ensure a good cut. The plan was to cut both sides of each sleeper. Needless to say i was terribly disappointed in the quality of the cuts. I had to switch back to my older Ryobi and the difference in cut finish was staggering with the same blade in each machine. Very disappointed with this product.

Have a normal wired circular saw but restricts you to some areas where you can't find power. So Hence the reason for the purchase of the Dewalt brushless Circular saw, which is so versatile for dealing with quick fix jobs on different locations. Haven't used the unit to maximise a full review as yet. The storage case is perfect lets you add a few extra batteries charger to hold. Good value buy.
Typical of Dewalt tools, much thought has gone into the construction of this circular saw. It has a solid base, as with all other aspects of the tool . The cutting guide is accurate and easy to follow providing confidence and overall ease when using the tool,. Being battery operated I have been able to cut through various wood types and thicknesses with relative ease. I am happy to recommend this particular model to a friend.
I recently purchased the DeWALT 18V XR Brushless Circular Saw, and it has quickly become one of my favorite tools in my workshop. Here are my thoughts on its performance and features:Pros:Powerful and efficient brushless motorLong battery lifeErgonomic and lightweight designEasy-to-use adjustments for bevel and depthQuick-stop electronic brakeCons:Dust extraction port placement could be improved
Have it for 2 years like handyman. I was enjoying his force but still hated the bare plate.its heavy then a marital but with a reason , deep of cut. It's not the perfect cuter but did the trick. Mine die when I drop if off because of tired hand from belt level ,was working another 20 cuts and on trying to cut 6 pice 2x4 all tougher like did befor ,died on 5 ones. Makitas are lighter btw and have a good base ,this need to be improved and angle cuter, where you need that 65 mm.
Have not used this saw yet but it is well made and feels sturdy. Can do many different cutsSo pleased with this saw a great addition to any ones tool boxQuick delivery as well What is not to like.If you buy this saw you will not be dissappointed .Have given 5* for everything as i am sure it will all be perfect . Same as my other DeWalt tools.
A nice, compact, sturdy little saw. All the adjustments are easy and tool-less. Used it for a few days now and it seems to cut very neatly, with quite a clean cut. If you do a lot of sawing a 4Ah battery might be good, but for my occasional use the two 2Ah batteries I already have for other DeWalt tools are perfectly adequate.I like the way the blade stops instantly when you finish sawing. The width guide felt reassuringly sturdy, and works as it should.I work with oak primarily, and an inch-and-a-quarter oak board makes it grunt a little, but it manages well enough if you take it steady. Softwoods it cuts like a hot knife through butter.Glad to have the vacuum extractor port too.
I bought this saw as a bit of a gamble because I didn't want to go flexvolt and thought it might be powerful enough to replace my little 165mm 18v DeWalt saw which in fact is under powered and doesn't cut through standard timber at 45 degrees. Was quite sceptical due to being a larger blade diameter but still 18v. I was completely wrong. It cuts deep, quickly and with 2 chargers and 3 or 4 batteries will cut all day without a break and is easily as good as a corded saw.Honestly, I can't believe how good this little saw actually is. Will cut whole roofs on two or three batteries without complaint. Keep a good blade in it. As soon as the blade starts to fade, it does struggle a bit. We'll pleased though. Don't go for the dcs391, spend the extra and go for this ... MoreI bought this saw as a bit of a gamble because I didn't want to go flexvolt and thought it might be powerful enough to replace my little 165mm 18v DeWalt saw which in fact is under powered and doesn't cut through standard timber at 45 degrees. Was quite sceptical due to being a larger blade diameter but still 18v.
