DeWalt 18V XR Brushless Quarter Sheet Sander - Skin Only - DCW200N-XJ

This is a well built tool and fits nicely in the hand. As it is a square edge it means it can get into corners, unlike the circular sander. The only downside is that when you put a battery on it, the sander is unbalanced and wants to tilt backwards. It's not a major issue but is noticeable.

Does the job but when using the sander in any other position than down the dust comes out of the sides.Another down size is the attachment for fitting to a hover is an additional cost however this may remedy the dust out of the side issue!All in all a decent sander with the advantage of no wires.

I recently purchased the Random Orbital sander, but I did not even think about getting into corners, so hence I bought this. I now have both the cordless sanders. It makes such a difference not having to mess about with cables. The build quality is very good and the paper attachment fittings are a good improvement over the older models.You will get about an hour of runtime on a 5 amp battery and also a decent amount of time for most small jobs on a 2 amp. If you want to put a 6 amp or larger battery on you would have to buy an extension piece for the dust extractor as it impedes the fitting of any battery over 5 amp. Or, you could carefully unclip the existing one and turn it over. Great sander, am using with a 4 ah battery and it's been more than adequate for the sanding jobs I've been doing. Inserting the paper is easy, vibrations are not too bad and the dust collector picks up a surprising amount of the dust - you have to be careful emptying it though as the sprung nature of the bag can create dust clouds if you're not careful. Overall though this ia great quality and useful device.

It's an excellent sander - a great addition to my other DeWalt 18V stuff. Collects the dust really well tooThe device for puncturing the sandpaper takes a lot of force to use - perhaps metal spike would be more effective than the plastic ones, which are already rounding at the tips.

Dewalt sander

Purchased from toolstation had a few problems getting it delivered not sure why to be honist .Sander was fit for purpose but as with all dewalt stuff overpriced for what it does .With hindsite i would probably have purchased a different brand than dewalt but once you start a collection of tools you are kinda locked in .The dewalt brand of tools is good but it is overpriced in my personal opinion.

Great Sander

This is a great sander that does everything I expect of it but it can be quite heaving when used on a ceiling with a 4.0 of 5.0ah battery. Likewise you probably want big hands to make handling it easier as it’s quite wide to grip.It’s nice that the speed dial is easily accessible whilst gripping the sander. It worked well with the De Walt mesh although dust extraction isn’t the greatest.All in all 4 out of 5.

Great little sander.

I have this battery one and the Corded one, the Corded one obviously gives out more power but the battery one is easy as you just pick it up and use it. I do use the dewalt sanding sheets with the holes in them which I find on an auction site for under £9 for 25. The dust collection bag works really well and soon fills up on the Corded one as I use that more because I have alot of wood to prep. I use the battery one with a fine paper on it and for the more awkward areas, a 5amp battery lasts quite some time but can be heavier than the Corded one. If you have a lot to do then the Corded one would be better. The sanding sheets are a breeze to change on both and the collection bags are easy to empty. I have been using the trend half mask which is on toolstation and I find I can easily breathe using it.

Great orbital sander

Best Dewalt orbital yet. Variable speed and pretty efficient dust collection even just with the supplied bag. Low vibration helps when using for an extended period. I use with 2ah batteries to make it as light as possible for overhead sanding.

Great, I have been waiting for them to come out. Bit pricy though.

Used a few times now and found it better than i expected. Its larger to grip than the mains model and because of the battery restricts the different gripping methods but has good power at the moment. Its also quiet at the moment but that will change in time I am sure just like the mains model does
