I bought this Dewalt, DCF809 impact because my other one was way too heavy. I have used it heavily for over a week now and have had no problems with this impact that I have noticed other people having. The power of this impact is just fine for what I do I do carpentry the quietness of this impact is way better than the previous impact that I had from a different maker. If I have any problems, I will write another review on this impact. Thank you again Dewalt for supplying a wonderful tool line.

It's really not any smaller than any other DeWalt impacts--i think it was like 0.1 inches shorter than the XR model at Lowe's. The comes with the cheapest batteries DeWalt offers, has no speed settings, which I had no idea was a thing, and then they come along a few months later and release what this should have been (DCF850B), yet they haven't released "upgraded" versions of the other atomic tools that launched with this. The quick change lock is superb, with the ability to just slide the bit in, without having to pull the collar out first. It's tough. I was using a competitor driver to drive 3 inch screws into wood deck planks, and had to put it down about a third of the way through the job to let the driver cool down. I finished the last 2 thirds of the job with this driver, and it was only mildly warm to the touch when I was done. And my arm noticed that not only was this tool much lighter than the other one I had used first, the trigger pull was also easier, so my arm didn't get nearly as fatigued by using this tool. And the screws went in quicker with this tool, as well. That one experience sold me on the quality and beneficial features of this tool. I highly recommend it.
This product is rated as 1700 inch pounds of torque (max) which translates to 141 pound feet but cannot remove a wheel nut that is torqued to 90 pound feet.So this tool will save a lot of time on wheel changes but you still have to 'crack' the nuts with another tool first. If you have other uses for the tool then maybe you can get a lot of use from it.The battery holds a charge a long time.Definitely not to be bought to do auto wheels with.

Lightweight in design, the 20v max brushless impact was made for those long days at work. And no need to worry about the battery life, as the lithium ion battery stays charged for a very long time. You'll get tires before this impact ever does. It drives even the most stubborn screws with ease. I am so happy I chose DeWalt. I will absolutely continue to buy DeWalt in the future.
I use an impact non stop at work at 8 hours a day 5 days a week. After extensively searching articles and videos I purchased this impact driver, but there was no reviews for using it all day long. The only thing I could find was the classic youtube videos of guys running lags. Whether you're 20 foot high putting a tin roof on a cattle building or on the ground building a new home, this incredible tool does it all! If you are going down the road and your tires pops put on the right adapter and making it a impact wrench to help change your tire! Maybe you are trying to drill some holes to bolt a board to some thick angle iron throw in a drill bit and let that puppy go to work for you! You could just be a weekend warrior trying to build a new deck for your house bam you have it built in no time! These impacts seem almost indestructible drop them from 20 feet up hope no ones underneath ya, because this sucker is gonna hurt. You are probably thinking dang I am ... MoreWhere do I start! Used it once and it sat a couple months. Went to use it again and it did a couple screws then when you pull the trigger light flashes once but motor doesn’t engage. Tried different batteries same issue. Looks like repairing would cost as much as buying a different driver.
