The size is really amazing for getting in tight spaces. The breakaway torque is only 450 ft/lbs which is ok for small jobs. For bigger jobs you will likely need more torque. It removed the tire lugs with hardly any effort. One thing I really don’t like but which seems to be the trend these days is selling the tool without a battery. Useless for buyers who may not own DeWalt equipment and already have batteries. It would be nice if DeWalt offered the option of purchasing the tool with battery included. Perhaps they do but I didn’t see that option at the 3 Home Depots I visited.

A cordless 1/2" drive impact has been on my list for awhile, since the majority of our cordless tools owned are Dewalt made only sense to stick with the brand. After a bit of researched we opted for the DCF921B super happy we did. After a bit of use found it to be extremely compact, lightweight (even w/5Ah battery), decently balanced, nice feature set in terms of control(s), smooth variable speed trigger, bight LED's w/three settings, and last but not least definitely powerful. Build quality is on par with what I expect from Dewalt so no complaints there. Love the "Precision Wrench Control" feature as it helps alleviate overtightening fasteners and that excessive spin after loosening a fastener... No stranger to this feature as the tools I use at my workplace, as a ... Was really hoping we could have found the "powerstack starter kit" deal (free battery/charger w/DCF921B purchase) but appears to be a USA deal only, as per usual us Canadian's gets left out in the cold once again LOL. Either way the DCF921B is a "highly recommended" from me.

I was shopping for the DCF921B Atomic impact wrench, but if I purchased this combo pack the wrench was free. What a great deal for awesome tools! The kit impact atomic driver is small yet powerful. The hammer and driver drill is an XR and it is smaller and also powerful. I’m using these purchases to upgrade my older great dewalt power tools. The three drills have very nice upgraded features. Dewalt should have implemented the electronic buttons on all of the power drill line.

I got this as my daily go to for driving screws and bolts. Previously, I used a standard 20v impact with a 1/4" bit driver but was looking for brushless replacement . There are several key form features that make this thing great. The hog ring anvil is a super secure connection, it makes a very satisfying click when you lock a socket onto it. My previous impact gun used socket adapter which had alot of play in it. This caused me to drop a socket in a hard to reach area more than once. The secure connection to the socket on this hong ring anvil, will also give me piece of mind while working overhead securing bolts in truss work. The flat back to the tool is a great point of contact for your other hand, it allows great control when driving timber lock or other lag ... The secure connection to the socket on this hong ring anvil, will also give me piece of mind while working overhead securing bolts in truss work. The flat back to the tool is a great point of contact for your other hand, it allows great control when driving timber lock or other lag style screws into place. The belt hook is also wider and slides into place much easier. While this might seem trivial, having the tool feel more secure while it's not in my hand allows me to concentrate more on things like moving work material or climbing a ladder. This is the first tool of this series I have used that has the adjustable torque and light settings, and while I am still getting used the added feature my initial take away is that it's awesome. I purchased an adapter to take this back to a 1/4" screw bit, and given the compact form of this unit it still falls into the same profile as my old impact gun. Overall I couldn't be happier with this thing, and would highly recommend it.
Got this not even a year ago and it's great when it wants to work. Light and mode toggle will work but won't engage unless I spend 5 mins changing batteries for it to start up.Not at all what I expected. I've had a1/4" chuck impact for approx 10 years that has fallen from 2 stories up and still worked and continues to work fine. I use this for automotive work and expected better quality. 90% of my tools are DeWalt because they are touch but I think I'll have to find another brand for my 1/2" impacts just as I have to with my cordless nailers.
Bought this at the beginning of April to add to my battery tools at work (automotive). I use the red brand for most of my work but some tight spaces require a smaller profile impact. This one has the best torque ratings for its class so I was especially happy to have it in my arsenal. It gets much less use than my daily impact so I was very disappointed when barely 2 weeks in, the impact failed. I went to use it and when I squeezed the trigger, nothing happened. No forward or reverse. Tried the direction switch a few times but nothing. The LEDs and setting display both worked however the trigger did not. I have captured the problem on video, however, I can only post videos from YouTube, what's with that ?? I really want this impact to be better and am hoping it's ... I will get it exchanged tomorrow and hope the next one lasts better than this one did.
Home Depot Dewalt reviewWhen I've needed new power tools, more often recently I've opted for Dewalt. I love most things about the group, including the grip, the relative lightweight of larger batteries, and (vainly) their look. This impact wrench has not disappointed especially at it is my first one. As a DIY-er that started a small handyman thing on the side. So there been much more "doing" this year and when I need more than a drill/driver man I'm glad I have this. Yes I seek opportunities to use it as I work to understand it's pros and cons. So far it's great.
The power of this compact tool is impressive, to say the least. DeWalt has come up with yet another winner, with this driver. It’s always a convenience, having another driver, so I recently got this one, and it quickly removed all doubts. It definitely packs some serious ½” drive power, but has a surge type ability to loosen the tightest bolts. I quickly spun off a bolt on an old rusty steel work kart, which I thought would never come off, even with an 18” breaker bar. One of the tests I ran while testing the product, was running a 4” lag bolt into a treated 6” deck piece of wood. I wanted to see if it would ‘back off’ and not break the bolt, when it reached proper tightening. Worked fine and I was really impressed. And the lights on the tool are amazing for ... And the lights on the tool are amazing for lighting up your work area, especially when underneath your vehicle! But the real killer deal was the ability to have different, select speed settings for different tasks. Since I use other DeWalt 20V tools, I’m ready at a moments notice to fix things here, or any of my neighbors’ houses.
I bought this tool in need of a strong compact stubby for my work in an automotive shop. I bought this tool because I was so impressed by my recently purchased Dcf900, dewalts new 1/2 in high torque. When I first used the tool I loved how perfect it fit in the hand, also the three led lights on the front. Being able to control the brightness of the leds and having 4 different torque settings makes all jobs easier. Probably my favorite setting is the precision torque mode allowing me not to completely back off nuts/bolts but also not destroying threads but screwing them all the way on. I was blow away by the performance of the tool zipping off rusty caliper bolts (high in the rust belt of the northeast) and getting in to hard to reach places. Amazing tool no ... I've been using the DeWalt 921B with success on lug nuts up to 140ft/lbs on my Silverado (Yes I torqued them on with a cheap torque wrench). I originally tried the 911 impact but it did not have quite enough power. The Hog Ring on the "B" model I find very useful - most people would prefer this ease of switching sockets. The 911 with detent pin was very annoying to remove.I like the ability to switch modes - I use the timber setting to install lug nuts without destroying the wheel studs.
