This is a chunky unit. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but have been using it to drill holes in stone mortar and concrete and it blows my old hammer drill into the weeds. Though I haven't used it all day I haven't yet flattened a 5ah battery in a day either. If I have a gripe it's that the depth stop is not as easy to adjust as it might be though this may "wear in" over time. I'd say it extremely good value at the price I got it for.

What a difference that makes in masonry and the chisel function I was using to remove plaster was way more powerful than I expected.Usual dewalt quality and ties in nicely with my existing battery ecosystem.

Great drill, really good size and weight with enough power to make light work of electrical installation jobs on site. Lasts a good length of time with a 5ah battery and feels sturdy enough that it will last a good few years. I’m happy with it.
Bought this larger drill because my smaller DeWalt variable speed hammer drill was struggling when drilling multiple holes into a tree stump! Did not realise on purchase that the SDS drill required 'special' drill bits but find the 12mm SDS auger bits make light work of the stump. Drill performed very well and 50 holes in an hour. SDS bits have a positive grip and so the bit does not work loose as happens with the smaller drill. On this first showing would recommend.
So far no issues with this tool. I've used hammer drill on various blocks with various lengths and size drills up to 24mm 1m masonry bit. I've also used the chasing side of it on breeze block and mortar with great results
I really enjoy using this tool. I had to install a lot of concrete screws in a block wall, and knock out some holes to run pipe and dryer vent through the wall. This tool made easy work of both projects. Would highly recommend this tool if you have any projects that require drilling or hammering in block or concrete.
Had a job that required a lot of fixings needing drilled into hard stone and my combi drill just wasn't cutting it. After hunting around for the best dewalt i could get for the money, and to me it was this hands down. Nice and light weight even with my 4Ah battery in, it has drilled everything i've shown it so far with complete ease and i honestly couldn't recommend it more. You know with the DeWalt XR range that the quality is there and it really shows with this gun. Fully recommend.
Had an old Bosch hammer Sds for years, it’s very good however decided to take the plunge and upgrade. I can honestly the Dewalt has exceeded expectations, the hammer force has more energy compared to the Bosch and will drill holes very quickly. It is lightweight and compact too. The only downside is that my 5ah batteries don’t last that long so if you have a smaller ah batteries don’t be surprised by the performance but otherwise you won’t be disappointed
This Hammer drill does what it is supposed to. This one is Replacing the Exact Hammer Drill that I have Used for 4.5 years in Commercial Construction every day, Drilling 3/16" holes in Lumber to install Lumber to Concrete and for Layout. Its Very Handy and Last a couple hours on a 5 Amp Battery
