There seems to be a real glut of pallets available at the moment. They are give a source of really useful timber for all sorts of project, particularly on my new allotment. The downside is that pallets are such a challenge to take apart. But once boards are prised apart enough to get a blade in the gap this reciprocating saw makes quick work of all the nails. It is relatively lightweight and straightforward to use. The mechanism for quick change of blades is a brilliantly simple design. This cordless tool takes batteries I already have with my Dewalt drills so I am very happy with this purchase.

Bought to cut 200x100mm sleepers used in garden. Already had other 18v DeWalt tools considered of good quality. As expected this required larger capacity battery to give longer length of use.Handles well with ability to alter direct of cut. Not the top of the range but provided more than enough power and thus excellent value

I recently purchased the product and I am very satisfied with my purchase. The ergonomic design makes handling comfortable, even during long periods of use. The engine power is impressive, allowing precise and fast drilling in different types of materials, such as wood and metal.

The reciprocating saw came quickly and well packed . My drill batteries fitted and the blades I had for another saw fitted saving me quite a bit money. When I first used the saw it did vibrate a bit more than I expected. With the correct blade it works very well.
The saw arrived quickly from Powertool World and well packed. Easy to fit a blade, just lift the locking gate, slide in the blade and release and its locked. Lovely. I bought a 5AH and put this on to charge when it arrived and tried the saw with a fully charged 4AH 18v XR battery. It is light to handle and using a pruning blade to cut an overgrown hazel hedge, I started with a 3 inch limb that the saw made short work of! I found it important not to hold the saw to tightly as it can vibrate quite a lot. I was so impressed with the saw that I used up the 4AH after about 30 minutes and then went on to the fully charged 5AH and was able to complete the hedge in about 3 hours, with one more battery change. This would have taken about two days with a hand saw. I have ... MoreThe saw arrived quickly from Powertool World and well packed. This would have taken about two days with a hand saw. I have since used the saw for building raised beds, cutting 3x3 section and trimming 6x1 planks. With a metal blade I was able to slice through one plank with nails no problem. All in all another excellent 18v tool from Dewalt.
Very strong motor along with multiple position blade options, good balance and smooth variable cutting speeds. My wife uses it for cutting the brambles down and she won’t let me have it back, looks like I may have to buy a 2nd one,One mention though it is battery thirsty, had to get a 6.0Ah to feed it. Wife prefers the 2.0Ah as there lighter. Brought the 12 pack of DeWalt blades with the carry case. So all prepared. 8/10 due to battery consumption speed.. 2.0Ah lasts about 50mins on brambles.
My corded reciprocating saw had seen better days but had served me well and taken on some tough tasks. I wasn't expecting the new cordless one to have the same performance. It totally has surprised me and has so far proven to be just as powerful, far less noisy and much more controllable than my previous saw.
I needed something that can cut through the timber with nails. This is the right tool for this purpose. It's unstoppable, goes through the walls like warm butter. Although don't expect smooth cut, it looks very rough.
Obviously built for prolonged use, being well engineered and robust. This means it is not that lightweight but it is easy to use. I have only used it for trimming larger branches from trees and it whipped through them so easily. Of course it does not come with a battery or blades! If you have other De Walt you will have batteries anyway. I bought De Walt blades though they are a standard fitting. It is very easy to fit blades with a tool less operation. I would say it has saved me so much effort and is recommended for such jobs.
I have owned this recip saw for around 3 years now and it still works as new. I use it commercially as I run a landscape gardening business www.signaturegardenservices.com.au so it gets a workout pretty much every week. We use it to cut roots under the soil level as a chainsaw will go blunt instantly. If you're looking for a recipro with grunt this is a great choice.
