The lack of a trenching facility may be issue for some, likewise the limited 10" cross cut capacity as opposed to the more common 12" on most 8" machines, but for what it is its well built and does the job in a simple no-nonsense manner. It slides on plastic bushes rather metal bearings. The lower bush has adjustment to take up any lateral movement which may result due to wear over time which is a nice touch. The top has none, therefore time will tell whether it will wear enough to cause problems with accuracy. On full extension there is a small degree of lateral movement which is not present when unextended, though not enough to become a problem in most situations. Plus it keeps the post clean when stored away.The motor is powerful with instant very smooth start up. I’m loving this saw as it is so easy to achieve clean, accurate cuts very fast, compared to a hand saw and mitre block. The instructions were not great but it’s pretty easy to figure out. For absolute precision work I will have to make a small adjustment to the alignment scale, but for what I have been doing so far (building a log store) it has been perfect.The shadow line enables an accurate cut location and the saw has good safety systems in place which make accidental start up almost impossible.I can highly recommend the dedicated stand 7033 as it is strong, supports long timbers and folds away easily.Overall this tool feels like an excellent investment.

I haven't had a chance to properly test this yet, but first impressions are very good, everything feels rock solid, the hard stops on the mitre adjustment have zero play in them, everything seems to be properly aligned right out of the box, and the sliding action also feels very sturdy with no noticeable wobble. The internal sliding action is a great space saving feature, I was initially unnsure if I would have space for a sliding mitre saw with the normal rear space considerations for slide rails, but this one eliminates that aspect and has a footprint that really isn't a great deal larger than my old non-sliding saw. So far so impressed and I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces
A decent quality power tool, I didn’t want a huge mitre saw as storage and transportation is always awkward, this fits the bill in that respect and great strong handles to pick up and move .The cost is reasonable as I only really use for DIY projects mainly but I think feels like it would be an alright cheap semi professional addition if cost is an issue. it feels good quality and cuts nice and clean and reasonable tight sounding and quiet . My only negative comment would be the squeeze handle to lift the blade guard feels a little flimsy , but lifts guard so no big problem. Love this saw for the fact it doesn't take up much space on the workbench due to the sliding rails being located inside the motor housing.. sad it doesn't have a electronic brake and the handle is mounted vertically but the saw cuts beautifully so I'm just being fussy.. the shadow line works but it takes a few goes to get used to it again that's just me not being used to that kind of feature.. I've actually built my new workbench around this saw, using this saw, which because it has such a small footprint barely takes up much room at all. Brilliant mitre saw for kitchen installation.Out of box is a horizontal and vertical alignments necessarily. This will take some time, because the instructions are only shown as pictures.I have used YouTube to help me and it worked fine.I also have bought the saw blade with 60 teeth to get a fine cut.The Dewalt dust extractor works fine and I will recommend to use a dust extractor, otherwise it could be very messy.The consistency of the cut is very accurate, especially when you compare the price.The wood clamp is not the best one and I could use it only on the left side of the saw. The right side is blocked through the motorI definitely will buy this mitresaw again. A quality saw that is accurate and quality. The motor is quiet, smooth and powerful. Not he largest saw cut , but more than adequate for DIY 99% of the time. The small space it takes up on the workbench or car boot is a big plus side. it has a laser sight which I first thought would be just a gimmick, but actually proves very useful. Overall I am delighted with this buy

Feel let down by DeWalt on this one. The cutting arm wobbles (above the bevel which is secure) and the mitre cutting detents are well over a degree (not to say 2) out. Cuts are all over the place.Cant speak for the dust extraction or xps as I tend to work outside in a bright and windy spot - where dust just blows everywhere regardless and the xps is invisible.Clamp simply doesnt work.Signing up for the warranty is a joke. The serial number is hard to find and not where the website says it is.
