I love the whole tough system line up!! So far I have the ds150, ds300, ds 400 and the small parts box. I absolutely love them. I am a heavy equipment mechanic and they all envy my tool boxes. I drive several different trucks and the boxes make it soo easy to just swap all my tools over and keep working. I used to have to leave it all in my primary truck and just hope I could manage or I would have to try to pick thru and decide what ones I should take. Now I just grab my boxes and go!! I’ll never be stranded in a job without the proper tools. I plan on buying several more to store all my parts In. My only comment is that they don’t really store wrench’s and channel locks, screw drivers, etc.. they just sit in a pile and I know I can make some Dividers but I’d ... Just some pockets or a way to keep the wrenches organized. A system or systems that were customizable or pre fixed so I could use it like a giant tool bag for hand tools or power tools.

A good, rugged, reasonably-sized tool box that will last longer than I will. One of my three grandkids will cherish it when I am gone, and will note that Poppa had a good eye for a well-built, high-quality product. Exactly what I wanted for a price I was prepared to pay. A good buy any day in my opinion.

When it came time to renovate my basement, I knew I would need to update my old DeWalt 18v tools. My wife gave me clearance to buy every tool I would need.I’ve always been a fan of DeWalt, so it was an easy choice. I loaded up on DeWalt 20v tools. Now I needed a way to store, transport and protect my investment.I bought quite a few ToughSystem boxes and a couple of the storage racks.Very well made and sturdy. I’m a big boy and I’ve used them as a stool or chair on more than one occasion. They hold up well.If you are reading this, just buy it. You will not regret it.

The Toughsystem is by far the most effective on-site solution for tool storage. I purchased all of the boxes for the first gen Toughsystem and I still use them to this day. Toughsystem 2.0 works with the first gen no problem and the first generation still has tremendous value. All the boxes that come with this system feel tailored to the tools you would want to put in them. They are very strong and have such an ecosystem, that you won't need any directions when buying this product. The simplicity of using these boxes and the storage racks is very straight forward.
I've had the big brother to this box for years, packed with all the hand stuff you invariably need on different jobs. However, it got to overflowing and I went with this to separate out my finish carpentry tools. That way I'm not dragging around EVERYTHING, just the stuff I'm most likely to need. Plus, I have most of my power tools in other Dewalt Tough System boxes so it makes stacking everything easier.
The heavy duty dolly is handy for my tough system boxes but also other things. I have my small tools in the top position and it’s great in the way that I don’t have to bend over to the ground to grab my tools. It also keeps them dry in the back of the truck. One thing I don’t understand is why the 2.0 series isn’t designed to lock on to the dolly. It snaps in place but doesn’t have the locking bracket the original tough system has. Other than that they’re great. I love them
When it comes to storage cases, I like to be able to see what's inside without opening it, hence this case being my favorite in the TSTAK series. This is a well though out case as it provides 7 yellow storage bins (2 big, 5 medium) and then storage along the sides for smaller things like the 10 nails left over in your nail gun as you change size nails, and then along the front there are holes for small bits. Additionally, there is a space under each yellow bin that you can put other small items. With the lid closed, all of these storage areas are secured and keep there contents in place regardless of orientation. Great design DeWalt!
For those of you who are interested primarily in the "HIGHLY WATER RESISTANT" & "PRESSURE SEALED" qualities....IT FAILED, MISERABLY!!There's a product defect that occurred during the molding process, and poor design QA "quality assurance". The raised lip on my "LARGE" box has a profound "dip" in it. It's on both sides of the lower half, and it's found directly above the side handles. If you run your thumb across them, you'll feel the dip. It's even more dramatic when you sight down the length of the raised edge, from front to read...on both left, and right side of the box. When the lid is closed, the lip at that low point, will not compress the yellow plastic gasket on the upper lid.How did I test it? I took a piece of writing paper, about an 1" in width, and a few inches long, and placed it across the raised lip seal on the lower half of the box, directly about the side handles, so that part of the paper is hanging out, and the remainder, hanging inside............. closed the lid, and secured the metal clasps. Pulled the paper out, with absolutely no effort/no resistance, which proves that the raised lip was NOT contacting the upper yellow seal. Perform that same routine anywhere else on the box, and you cannot remove the paper without giving it a good hard pull......meaning that the seal is doing it's job.So much being water resistant, and pressure sealed. Shame on DeWalt!! Other than those two highly touted qualities...... it's still a good tote box. Just don't expect to keep the contents dry in wet conditions. Of course, now it's a bit hard to swallow the price, since it's now in a different class.
Wish I had read reviews first... Requested this as a gift and then couldn't return it; no receipt. It is built very well and its a great organizer for sure, but... What was DeWalt thinking? It doesn't fit with the other TSTAK system. Nor does it fit with the other slightly larger organizer system. Making it a bit of an ODD BALL Organizer. Still, it is very well made just doesn't work for me the way I had hoped that it would.
great organizer, love the deep compartments. I'm a plumber and every plumber knows just how many different fittings by type, size and by material there is for water pipe installation and how chaotic it gets when they get jumbled together; spending wasted time searching for the right part. This organizer is perfect for organizing all of my water pipe fittings, from pex to copper to wirsbo and all of their fastners. Highly recommend for any tradesman who is tired of rummaging through bags/box's of miss matched materials.
