DeWalt - Magnetic Torpedo Level - DWHT43003

If i could rate it 0 stars i would. Worst level i ever owned. I install TVs for a living and use a small level for all my jobs. After my cheap level fell apart i decided to buy one that goes with my other dewalt tools. After using it on 5 or 6 TV installs i noticed my TVs were not level. After checking with different levels i found my dewalt level as the fault. Dewalt used to be one of the best brands but lately ive been having issues with the new stuff. Bought a dewalt power inverter for my car and it couldnt even charge my phone new out of the box. Plus the fact that im paying extra just for the dewalt name. Time to go Milwaukee.

Expensive but well made

You only had the expensive model in stock and I needed a short level. This is well made and beautifully finished. The magnetic base is useful though i dread to think what it will dredge up from my toolbox.We used to make things like this in the UK.

Great level but the adjustable vile i would get something else if you need custom angles.

A great level the adjustable vile could have a better locking and or accuracy setting it seems a little wish washy but as for the vertical and horizontal which is really all i do i like this for its price. especially as some of the new stablia seem odd

Great sturdy little level , novelty features are flimsy and seem like an afterthought

I bought one of these for the adjustable angle finder sight bubble. But after a few days in my toolbox the piece of plastic that sits stationary next to the wheel that has the zero-point line broke and fell out. Now i it is difficult to figure out what angle it's set on and it seems the wheel is jammed up with sawdust or whatever and will only turn about 20 degrees then stops. Still works good for level and plumb, but the bulkiness is hard to justify.

Horrendous build quality

I've been through 5 of these so far, including in shop, to find one without a load of glue marks and tarnishing around the mirrored part of the levels, which is really distracting when you're looking at the bubble in the level.I expected far better from DeWalt.Item 43170 is what I went for in the end. Not a level level out by miles

Not level used today for first time to check some shelfing supportslooked out when looking at it put level on bubble in middle flipe level 180 degrees bubble now on left side linegot stabilia level out of vanyep dewalt out by about 4 mm over 2 footalso check with laser level to double checkreturning to screwfix live and learnhope my other dewalt levels are ok

Not the quality you would expe

I am on my second level as the end fell off the first one. The quality is not as good as I expected. The rotating level does not align with the horizontal one when set to zero degrees. The recessed magnets are not aligned accurately and weren't on the one I returned.I would say it's not worth the extra money.

This is the perfect size level for small jobs like shelves or hanging pictures.I use this all the time for projects around the house.The magnets hold it securely to anything ferrous.The adjustable bubble is nice for finding angles or checking pitch.You will not be disappointed.

Torpedo Level.

Manufactured in Thailand for Dewalt tools. Only 170mm long minus rubber end caps. Cross section, 50mm deep and 25mm wide. Angle finder accurate for pipe inclines. Horizontal vial not encased in solid acrylic block and vulnerable to damage. Fast bubble takes time to settle between black lines. Not 5/5 for value. Stabila and Stanley Fat Max levels similar in price. Used to level picture frame exhibitions and captions in busy Museum galleries. Robust construction and recommend for all Museum exhibition installations.
