I had several well-fitting dickies work shirts in the past. For over a decade my employer has supplied uniforms, so I haven’t had a new dickies in that time. My employer has ceased to provide uniforms, so I ordered a test shirt of the same size and (seeming) style I used to buy. It’s enormous. The waist is huge. The shoulders are large. The old shirt I still have fits well despite me being middle aged. What happened? I liked those shirts because they were rugged and were cut to fit a normal body. I ordered a medium and it is, frankly, made for someone with a lot of extra weight on. Do normal sizes exist anymore? Are there work shirts for men who actually work? This is a shame because those were great shirts

These are my daily work wear. I have 8 of them. Our dress code requires a collared shirt. I could wear anything I want, but I like the solid colors for a subdued look. More professional than plaid. The shirts are tough but soft. Two breast pockets are convenient for desk or field work. I've never had a stitch come loose or a button fall off in 2 years. I do wish there were more colors available for XLT size.

These shirts look really nice and hold up very well in the elements. However, tall is not a tall. Im 6'10" and the shirts barely come down to my belt. I have to wear an undershirt or risk a breeze revealing from my waste to above my midsection. Other brands I use, a tall I can somewhat tuck-in. If these were a little longer I would definitely buy more.
July 2012, two shirts were added to my husband's wardrobe as he began working for Walmart. He's retired but to this date they are his favorite shirts! Only problem is that after twelve years of being worn regularly, some of the fabric was showing its age and worn out. So for Father's Day, a new crisp shirt was a great gift for this retired man who still loves to wear his "Walmart uniform shirts" because they are comfy, wash up great, feel great, look great and his laundry lady loves them too!
I have been wearing Dickies work clothes for many years. This set of five work shirts were sewn wrong. The seam on the shoulder was sewn with one seam facing forward and one seam facing backwards. When you look in the mirror you can tell the differance in the shoulder seams. one side lays flat the other is up. it looks funny. I would have sent them back. but I had already washed them and worn one before I noticed the difference in the shoulder seams.
This is one of the poorest quality garments I own. The only reason I kept it is because I couldn't find Dickies clothing locally, ordered many sizes of several shirts/shorts, and felt guilty about returning absolutely everything. So, I kept one shirt and one shorts as a token of appreciation for Dickies' free shipping / free returns policy. In detail:- The fabric is coarse and scratchy, even after multiple washes. It doesn't breathe at all, and gets less comfortable as I sweat.- One pocket is sewn on lower / crooked compared to the other.- The construction seams are simple serged. I didn't expect flat felled for this price, but they didn't even bother to stitch the seams back down so they feel like ropes, especially around the sleeve openings.- The collar is ... I didn't expect flat felled for this price, but they didn't even bother to stitch the seams back down so they feel like ropes, especially around the sleeve openings.- The collar is sewn directly onto the main body of the shirt, without the band to which collars usually attach. As a result, it lays unflatteringly, even for a work shirt.- The sizing is huge. I'm 6'2", 195 lbs, 42" chest and had to go down to a Medium - which is still big on me. Unfortunately, it's also short so, without tall sizes, I couldn't go down any smaller because of the length. On the positive side:+ The fabric appears durable, and should last many years through abusive work conditions. To summarize, Dickies spared every possible expense in the manufacture of this shirt. I've never worn Dickies before, but I have to assume that quality has slipped; no company could have built the good reputation that Dickies has with clothing of this quality. I am going back to buying my work clothes from another company. This shirt is less expensive, but it's also less of a value.
They are perfect for my job. A little different from the ones I received before (button collar instead of snap) and had pocket covers instead of open, but neither all that important. Could have been a different shirt was ordered before. Maybe for casual wear instead of work. (My cousin ordered 1st batch for me). The only thing a little puzzleing is that after a few washes, the edges of the collars start to turn white all the way around. Follow the directions for washing but still, all 3 of the 1st order did this. All in all, the shirts seem to hold up well and have been pleased using them for work. Part of a required uniform we have to provide for ourselves and shirts are hard to find.
These shirts are simply the best value out there. They look great on you; my gf insists I wear my short sleeve dickies work shirts most days. I used to wear these religiously when I worked in restaurants, and the last few years as a professional artist they have served me equally well. Don’t hold stains, stay looking professional all day, and supremely comfortable to work in. Also, this may influence some buyers: I have a condition where I sweat profusely most all day long, mostly in the pits, which obviously isn’t ideal. The dickies work shirts are hands down the best choice for us sweaty guys. It largely doesn’t show (especially on black and darker colors), and dries faster than any other shirt, with no stain or lingering odor. It’s been a game changer for me, and ... i dont like how you have to pay more for the flex shirts when all it is, is less material. this "technology" they claim is only less material, it doesnt actually flex. idk what happened to dickies but something did. maybe its like every where else. lower quality higher prices. i wont be buying dickies any more, sizes are janky, they seem to fall apart faster, threading is cheap buttons are cheap. inconsistent in all ways. the work shirts i wear, or wore casually and they still didnt hold up. the t shirts are even worse.
