These pants are great, they fit well, they are comfortable, and warm but not too warm. There's some light pilling (a surface defect of textiles caused by wear) on the thigh / crouch area already after wearing them consistently for a week (I also noted some stretching of the seems, showing the thread, but it's nothing I am worried about currently). While this may not be a sign of poor craftmanship, or materials used: I am aware of it. The front waist of the pants sits higher than I personally expected. It does ride up over my belt, which causes odd bunching, and correcting every so often. It's not terrible by any means. It may seem like I do not like these pants, but I really do love them, and the company Dickies overall. I may try a different cut next time, but ... MoreThese pants are great, they fit well, they are comfortable, and warm but not too warm. Very recommended, but please keep note of my light concerns after three-ish weeks of wearing these.

Had to return the work pants because the zipper is only 3 inches long. That is way to short for a man. They need to be at least 5 inches long, otherwise a man would have to take his pants off just to urinate. We checked all of my husband's other pants and the zippers are at least 5 inches long. If you made them with longer zippers, we would buy them again. The material is so durable and easy to keep clean. My husband was a former insurance adjuster and these pants were part of his uniform.

I love the durability of Dickies but sizing is impossible to predict. I have 5 873 pants and all 5 runs different. I normally wear 32 or 33 pants. And this 873 pant I have one size 33, and 4 size 34. The first 2 I bought runs like a normal 33 and these last 2 I bought runs like a normal 34. I really don’t know what size to buy. It is always a gamble.

For everyone saying these are too small and fit terrible you must not be reading the description. They are "SLIM" fit. If you don't want a short rise and "SLIM" fit go buy the regular 874. I'm 6'2" and weigh 175lbs. These pants fit perfect. Regular 874 are too big and baggy for me and don't fit my body type at all. @Dickies please don't change the fit on these. It's so hard to find "SLIM" work pants that fit well
I love these pair of Dickies slim fit work pants. I think the normal non slim fit ones look like baggy pants. They are very durable and kinda stiff when you first try them on. I would recommend washing them first before wearing them and also, I would recommend buying a size up ie. if you wear a 34/30 get a 36/30 instead. They shrink over a period of time and they will eventually become a size 34 by the time it’s worn and wash enough. It would be nice to have a shorter seam length like down to a 26 or 28 for the shorter leg folks. Otherwise, good pants for automotive attire.
The material is good but the sizing is off. I ordered a pair with waist size 36" and it felt like I was wearing a 34". Also it says slim fit but in reality, it's more like a straight cut. Dickies Canada need to be more detailed in their description with their products. At least the fabric seems durable hence 2 stars.
Great fitting, long lasting pant that sits lower and at a more reasonable height. I always liked the 874 style but found them to sit at an uncomfortable level above my waist and were a little baggy for my likings. The 873 solves all these issues. My only complaint is I feel the newer ones recently don’t have that much scotchguard or whatever they apply to them that repels liquids as after one washing the pants seem to absorb liquid. The ones from years ago lasted months before this would happen. Still a good pant.
I bought 3 pairs of this style 2 years ago due to getting a new job. I work with a lot of oil, harsh chemicals, and battery acid isn't shy about getting on jeans. After talking to people at the front counter in a store, they said they couldn't say much as far as battery acid goes, but that they should hold up to pretty much everything else. Battery acid will just tear up jeans in a few wears, so I figured it was worth the shot for $30 a pair, and man am I happy with my purchase. Not to say they don't look well loved after 2 years of battery acid and oil stains, but they haven't completely fallen apart off me like jeans have. They've got a few holes but nothing larger than a nickel after being rewashed multiple times. Love the look and feel. Definitely good quality. However way way way to tight. 32x32 in almost every brand. Couldn’t even do these pants up. Also no room in the crotch. Afraid even sizing up the waist that the crotch area will still be too small. Going to try 34x32 in the 874’s once I return these unusable pants.
Bought 3 pairs of work pants and 1 pair of shorts. All 4 regular fit with 34" flex waist. 1 pair of pants and the shorts fit great in the waist. 1 pair of pants was loose but acceptable. Other pair of pants was almost an inch to big in the waist.Another purchase two weeks ago of 1 pair of slim fit work pants and 1 pair of shorts with 34" waist. The shorts fit fine in the waist but the pants were about and inch big in the waist.
