Very easy to pout together w simple instructions and the need of very limited equipment (Thankfully). It certainly lives up to its name of 'high velocity' fan with speed #1 the only speed I have used to date. I have a fan on all night as I need the feeling of moving air to feel comfortable, and this worked through the night really well. Not too noisy.

This fan is not built with the same quality as previous Dimplex fans we have owned. Three small washers were missing when the fan was assembled. This fan is very "tinny" and does not seem to be value for money. However, it works well on the various speeds. I do not think it will last as long as our previous Dimplex fans.

Fan oscillation function did not work properly from the start and then failed altogether. Reported to Dimplex who sent me back to retailer who said they needed a replacement authority from Dimplex that they had to request and that Dimplex would contact me in a couple of days. Nearly 2 weeks later still nothing from Dimplex. Have a fan that does not work and an older fan bought from Target at half the price is far better quality in terms of frame and motor housing. Hopefully a new fan will come sometime soon.

This is a great looking little flow fan. Even the lowest setting is quite effective. It doesnt take much room and because its in the floor it is perfect in an office or a lounge room. Its also very quiet and oscillates.
Needed a decent fan to replace my clapped-out relic. After much research I settled on the Dimplex and couldn't be happier. Very easy assembly, good sturdy construction and pretty quiet operation. A great fan at the right price for me. I'm actually considering getting a second one.
This is a really powerful fan. I usually use the first setting only. Its easy to move around the house and angle to the couch, the desk or the bed. This has completely replaced my pedestal fans.
There was a fault with this product. The fault is that when the fan is pointed upwards it wont oscillate. The weight of the fan when pointing at a higher angle makes it too heavy for the oscillation function to work - so the fan just gets stuck. It wasnt significant enough for me to want to un-assemble the product and drive it all the way back to the store. But at the same time its significant enough to be a bit annoying. Not the end of the world but Id still prefer if the fan did what it said on the box.
First fan lasted less than 30 minutes before failing to oscillate. Returned for replacement. Second fan failed to even operate. Possibly a dead motor.Returned and got a refund. Even if there had been any more in stock, which there wasn't, I would have not been tempted to try for a third time. The fact that the fans needed to be unpacked and assembled to verify tthat hey worked meant two unnecessary trips back to the store. This is more a reflection on quality of goods than a lack of customer service which was acceptable.
I bought this fan because my cheap old pedestal fan was pretty much dead. The old one served me well with near constant use in my badly ventilated room, but eventually just burned out.THIS fan? That is not a worry.First thing you will notice is it is solid. The motor assembly is very hefty and is encased in a durable hard metal enclosure. The base stand is also a proper base weighted to make sure there is no chance of tipping over with a casual brush by.Something to be aware of. 50cm is larger than your typical pedestal fan size. So it will take up noticeably more room than an existing cheap one. So be sure to factor that in for placement because you wont want to move it very often. The fan has three speed settings but as others said its unlikely you will go ... MoreI bought this fan because my cheap old pedestal fan was pretty much dead. So be sure to factor that in for placement because you wont want to move it very often. The fan has three speed settings but as others said its unlikely you will go above 1. Gale force comes to mind when thinking about how much air this pushes. On its highest setting its very much like sitting behind a commercial warehouse fan.The speed selector is also double sided so should you want to mount this on a wall in your own bracket with it upside down it will still be intuitive for setting a speed.Noise is an issue, it will easily drown out someone talking in another room, and with the design of the fan blades, does have a muffled aircraft noise sense. If you are a light sleeper this will not be a workable solution for you. But if you could sleep through an earthquake then this thing will make sure you don't have any problems with a stuffy room.Overall the fan is sturdy and well constructed for its price. It would be ideal for out side patio's or under an awning to move air about on a hot day in the backyard. Or in a commercial setting to ensure that there is airflow in areas with high traffic or customers lingering.Use indoors is ok as long as you can deal with having to speak over it or turn the volume up on the TV more than you would normally do.This fan is for you if you are serious about pushing a lot of air around to actually feel cooler, and don't care about noise.
I've had it for a bit over a month now, & I love it. Pros: it's so fast, even it's lowest speed is like having a half dozen standard fans going full pelt, & if I crank it up to full speed I can feel it 2 rooms away - it's glorious! I also ran it over night & day (about 20hrs straight) & the motor was only just warm, so it does a great job of cooling itself.Cons: it is louder than ordinary fans, & significantly louder at higher speeds (I do wish the manufacturer would look into ways of reducing the turbulence coming off the blades), but for me the pros far outweigh the noise. And my noise cancelling headphones do a great job of removing most of it.All in all, it's a beast of a fan, I highly recommend it, & I am so immensely glad I bought it. Would definitely buy ... MoreI've had it for a bit over a month now, & I love it.
