I also received a small vial of the original dior j'adore, which was new to me, and I find it fascinating that the two fragrances were very different. The original, I would say, is more complex, not as light and airy. If you want something light and easy, that layers well, I'd say go for this one. It's so nice to not have that alcohol smell. Oh, and the white and gold bottle is absolutely GORGEOUS. The only issue I had was that sometimes when I would spray it multiple times, the perfume would leak out of the nozzle and get on my fingers. Because the fragrance is so light, and it's just flower water, it wasn't a huge negative for me, but I would definitely be upset if I purchased this and this happened. Hopefully Dior fixed this before the official release.

The ad campaign for this simply says something along the lines of “flowers. water. that’s it.” Sounds kind of cheesy, but that is exactly what this smells like. You get to bypass the harsh alcohol smell of a traditional perfume and jump right to the good stuff - an incredible floral base. The smell doesn’t scream at you from a mile away, nor does it consume your entire identity. Instead, I feel like the J’adore D’eau is meant to compliment your natural essence, and elevate it with the help of the gorgeous Neroli, Jasmine, and Magnolia accords made so delicately flattering by the perfumery masters at Dior. Did I mention there is no alcohol? Apparently this formula is the first of its kind, patented, and exclusive to Dior. There are ingredients here that work to benefit your skin while keeping you smelling amazing. Think traditional perfume without the department store “manufactured” smell. Envision yourself dressed as a white flower bouquet, and that is essentially how you will smell while wearing this fragrance. The opalescent white bottle, softened with a matte, frosted effect similar to alabaster, replicates the delicate velvet nature of a white flower petal. Hours later as I type this review, I can still smell this gorgeous fragrance lingering from my wrists. If you have the money, run - don’t walk - to Dior to purchase your own bottle!

This perfume smells like a classic fresh floral on initial application, but as it sits on my skin, it develops strong jasmine notes with hints of warm vanilla, which I absolutely love. If you?re also in your early to mid 20s and have been looking for a perfume with Jasmine notes that doesn?t give an overly mature vibe and is also wearable in a corporate office setting, this is definitely a great option for you. The reason I?m still rating 5 stars despite the average wear is because my main requirements for the wearability of perfume is that I can wear it in an office setting where I have to work with many others closely who may have fragrance sensitivities, so I appreciate that this perfume lasts only a few hours at peak intensity and continues to taper off, which gives me more control to add on intensity instead of accidentally spraying too much!

Then the bottle design, the cap of the sample at least is twist off and you dab a gorgeous milky, watery fragrance on. The perfume is as milky white as the bottle. This year I've absolutely loved and worn over and over D&G Lily and Jimmy Choo I Want Choo. Prior to this year, I wasn't into florals. Always ambery, woody scents. I see this as a piece of perfume history, innovation in perfumery.

Most of my perfume bottles are in some variation of the traditional square shape clear bottle, so this bottle definitely stands out without being obnoxious, looks very elegant, and was designed to be displayed. You can also still see where the liquid is at, which I personally like.The scent is very a fresh, clean floral, a more wearable version of the original J'adore. I appreciate that they included a sample of the original to better compare. When I first smelled the original years ago, I thought it was too strong for me. Now my tastes have changed, and I think I could wear the original, but it's not something I'd seek out. This one, however, is softer and doesn't hit you quite full on like the first one. To be clear, the J'adore DNA is still very much present in this new version. It's just tweaked in a way that gives you more opportunities to wear it. Especially in the summer and spring time, in any hotter weather. Funny enough, we are experiencing a heat wave in LA, and this is in my hot weather perfume rotation at the moment. When Light Blue and Pure Grace are a little more soapy and citrus than I'm looking for, I've been going for J'adore Parfum D'eau.I will say this doesn't last as long (about 5 hrs and then it become a skin scent) on me as, say, YSL Libre (all day and night), but that's part of its appeal to me. It smells fresh, soft, floral, and inoffensive. Perfect office scent in my opinion. I can count on it to make me smell like someone who's feminine and confident and doesn't need everyone in my day to day life to be hit with a beast mode scent for them to know that I am confident.
