The freestanding version of the dishmatic handle is a welcome option. However giving it a washing liquid flow adjuster is not. Put simply it does not work. Even on the most open slot the rate of washing liquid flowing to the sponge is totally inadequate. Not fit for purpose at all. Reluctantly I have to get rid of mine and go back to the old leaky version that we know and tolerate... A do not buy for me I?m afraid.

Just pour your soap down the drain. This leaks. I fill up the handle and about one third of the soap has leaked out over night. The multiple setting for dispensing soap doesnt work either. Can barely get any soap to come out regardless of setting. Im going back to the cheaper model as it doesnt leak as much.

I am reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. However I have been using this brand and product for ages and absolutely love it. Read some of the more negative reviews and think the product description could be better. Flow control: It has 3 settings, but the first setting is off, so use setting 2 or 3 when you wash up. Remember the washing up liquid needs to soak through the sponge, so upon first use it will take a minute or two with a wet sponge and squeezing/pressure on your plates before it starts lathering. I use Fairy washing up liquid which works fine. Colours: The product description doesn't state it, but I am aware of at least 3 colours: white, black and blue. Filling: The 1st generation had a screw cap (good), the 2nd gen had a tiny ... MoreI am reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. At first I used it for dish wash. I usually use normal sponges without handle and didn't feel this item is for me. But I think people who suffer from dried skin would love it since you don't need to touch soap directly with it. Now it nicely settle down in our bathroom to clean washbasin. I love it because don't need wash my hands after clean washbasin.
I usually use sponges or washing up cloths that I cut into smaller size. Why have washing up cloths and face cloths gotten so big???? Anyway, I gave this a try and was not impressed. There is no "feed" button to squeeze out soap, so I guess it is a continuous flow with volume dependent on 1-2-3 setting. The scrub part was not strong enough to scrub away stuck on bit and there is no easy way to rinse out and "wring" out the head after washing dishes. Bought it 2 weeks ago and already tossed it in the bin.
Sent sample to review (thanks Ocado!). I tend to use a non-scratch scouring pad and wear rubber gloves as my skin is quite sensitive to some washing up liquids. I really like this product as I don?t really need to get my hands soaking wet!! It feels comfortable to hold and dispenses the liquid gradually creating a nice lather. Little sponge manoeuvres well when cleaning all types items. Good price too
I've tried just about every version of these Dishmatic brushes and I'm fairly sure that this is the best one they sell. Unfortunately it's not quite as good as an old one which served me well for many years, but which seems to have been discontinued. The four major types of problems that people tend to have with Dishmatic brushes are 1) the head falling off, 2) the refill flap opening by accident, 3) leakages, and 4) blockages. I found that the brushes with the flap seemed to be better at avoiding leakages and blockages than the ones which you have to unscrew, but this "standing" brush is also functional as long as you are careful. I found that the brushes with the flap seemed to be better at avoiding leakages and blockages than the ones which you have to unscrew, but this "standing" brush is also functional as long as you are careful. If you actually use it as intended, the liquid sits at the bottom of the handle while it stands and then takes a long time to make its way into the sponge while you scrub. However, if you fill it too much and leave it lying face down, liquid will leak out of the sponge end. The best advice therefore seems to be to lay it on its back, and keep it about half full.
I saw this at my daughters and snorted with derision - until I used it all weekend, I bought this standing one and was put off by reviewers saying it leaks? Mine doesn't and I love it - its perfect for those odd bits of washing up and brilliant for anyone living on their own - I am buying another one for my mum now.
I followed one of the advices here and diluted my rather thick Ecover dish soap with water about 1/5, than shook it to foam. It comes out perfectly. I advice this to everyone here who has bought it or going to buy. Its nice otherwise as it stands, doesnt cramp the space and for the white colour that is much more elegant than traditional sponge yellow. I gave it 4 stars as I think manufacturer should write this on the packaging if your soap is thick dilute with water
I was sent this product to review, the bottom was missing so had to buy one myself to write this review. I really enjoyed using this for convenience! However I feel its not very environmentally friendly with the replacement heads and all the plastic on them. It did save my counter space, what with not having to keep washing up liquid out and it was easy to use. Didnt keep coming off the handle like older models so I would recommend
