DJI Osmo 4K Action Camera

Less than a month in but finding this an excellent first action cam. Took a little while to get initially connected and update the firmware, but then has been everything I was looking for. Mostly fixed positions used so far (will do moving shots later) and it has fantastic quality, with the front screen making it super easy to frame shots when setting it up.Battery lasts just short of 1.5 hours doing 60fps @1080, slightly less at 4k. It doesnt come with a memory card so make sure you get one or two. Which leads to the only downside. The excellent phone app only runs on my phones main memory, not its SD card, and so will only download video to the phones main memory for editing. Absolute bargain in 2021 amazing

Love this thing! I was looking at buying a GoPro hero 9 or the 1inch insta360 and though no way ! I’ll just try this at half the price and boy am I glad I did! This osmo action feels so premium and solid! The screens are nice and big which was very important for me. Touch screen in the back is nice and responsive. The voice commands work great but don’t always catch your voice. Overall I’m so happy with this little guy. I bought an external mic adapter and hooked up my rode wireless go for better sound and it works flawlessly. Just a joy to use underwater, skiing, or just walking around. So happy I spent half the price on something that is from what I saw just a little less (maybe marginally) quality in video compared to the competition.

Another DJI winner

The DJI Osmo Action camera seems well made and rugged enough to stand up. Both the picture and sound qualities are excellent. The image stabilization and distortion correction features initially drew me to the DJI Osmo. My only hesitation is that the manufacturer requires that the device be "activated" through a proprietary application that can also control the camera in use. Once activated, however, it seem the camera will work manually without being tethered to the app.

Best action camera on the market

4k 60fps max resolution AND HDR quality video, image stabilization is perfect. I mount the camera on my helmet when I ride my motorcycle. You can pause the video and read license plates passing by you at 70mph. The only drawback is the wind noise reduction feature, but then again it sounds like the same algorithm used on the go pro. Not really a drawback, only howls when cruising at highway speeds. Easy user interface, and inexpensive replacement plan through DJI. Batter life and recording time blew me away. I think I got an hour and a half of footage in 4k before it died, and about 5 hours of footage on the storage device. Awesome product

Chose the right camera for the job

I was shopping for a 4k action camera to do some vlogging. My choices were between the GoPro 8 Black and the Osmo Action. I've been watching video footages online comparing the two cameras, pros and cons etc. Osmo Action was the cheaper.Then, there was recently a sale at Best Buy a couple weeks back where the Osmo Action included the batteries and charger for a ridiculously low price. Decision made!Love the quality of the various resolutions, the time lapse and hyper lapse features and the front facing screen that makes framing shots when vlogging a breeze.I've since mated it with an isteady Pro2 gimbal. Exceeds my expectations

I needed a small, reliable, waterproof camera for pulling some waterslide shots for a local waterpark. I decided on the DJI because of the reliability of my DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone.This camera is heavier than the cometition and feels great in the hand. I am an engineer and I was wowed when I opened the package and inspected the build quality. The battery impressed me too.It's so easy to operate with the two screens and the ease of getting to all of the numerous menu options. I've tried every variation and I'm very happy with my purchase. This was my first Adorama purchase but i won't be my last. Ordering more batteries tomorrow and this camera will live in a pouch on my belt for a long long time.And, I bought a kit with a tripod/selfie stick and it's sturdy. Yes!

Exceeds my expectations deserves 6 stars!!!

This is the best action cam I have used and with the most intuitive settings on the market. I have been having so much fun with this camera. It's so easy to operate with the two screens and the ease of getting to all of the numerous menu options. I've tried every variation and I'm very happy with my purchase. This was my first action camera purchase but i won't be my last. DJI builds some great products. Ordering more batteries tomorrow and this camera will live in a pouch on my belt for a long long. PLUS!!! they still do software update on the came that only makes it better.

Osmo Action is Lacking in a Few Areas

I purchased the Osmo Action mainly for shooting real estate videos and even though shooting outside for exterior shots with enough natural light produces adequate video quality, the indoor low light video footage was unusable due to the extensive grain and poor image quality. For shooting action video, which is what this camera is all about, its a very nice camera and there are a lot of great features. The Rock Steady is excellent and the overall wide angle lens is perfect for covering all the action. It also starts up very quickly so you will rarely miss a shot. Another issue is with the Mimo app. If you have an older iPhone, you will not be able to use it and you have to download the app in order to use the camera. I ended up borrowing a friend's phone to activate the camera via the Mimo app. Due to the low light issues and a few other quirks, that's the reason for the overall 3-star rating. For people who just want to shoot outdoors, I do recommend this camera. I ended up returning the camera due to it not being able to be used for my primary need for real estate videos and will need to upgrade to a more robust camera which handles low light much better.

Amazing array of features with helpfull AE bracketing and fun stuff like time lapse. Love the fact that I don't need a waterproof casing, that in my experience have always fogged up at critical times on earlier competitor models. It feels robust, and the screen information and ease of use is excellent once you get use to the finger swipes and screens.Cons: I'm super nervous about the hinged waterproof door for charging/SD card. My first camera had to be replaced as the door came off on first opening and could not be re-seated.It was quickly replaced by the retailer and the replacement works fine. Unusable Product

How are you expected to use a product that requires you to register for a service that is broken? I've tried to register multiple times using different methods with no success, I am given different errors each time I try.I suspect the camera is quite good when it functions, however you are required by DJI to register the product to actually use it. You can use it four times without registering, but you get locked out afterwards...
