I purchased the osmo pocket 2 creator content box right before Coachella this year because I was so tired of carrying a larger camera around. I love that this is lightweight and fits in my backpack or Fanny pack. I also love that it has a protective case so that the lens is protected. The recording quality is amazing for the size. The screen makes it convenient to record and see the screen. There is a bit of lag when turning on the camera and attempting to flip the camera. I love the extension so that I can have a better grip of the camera. It’s expensive but def worth the money if you’re a content creator and don’t want to pull out a camera, especially for people that are camera shy. This makes people feel less like they’re being on camera which I love. ... MoreI purchased the osmo pocket 2 creator content box right before Coachella this year because I was so tired of carrying a larger camera around. In the case of the Osmo Pocket this is aggravated by needing a Smart Phone with a 'USB C" connection to plug the Pocket into. Not helpful if you have a phone with a Micro USB connection - however - I found with an 'OTG' adaptor (e.g OnePlus OTG C) I was able to connect to my Galaxy 7 and not only activate it but use the Mimo sotwareThe LCD screen is big enough for framing reasonably accurately, and the touch interface for controlling modes/settings/reviewing film/photos works well.Switching between video and photo is easy (single short press of the on/off button) and the quality of the 12 Mp photos is as good as any smartphone..The shooting angle of 80 degree's is wide enough while avoiding fish eye distortion so common in action cameras.Panorama's (180 degree Pano or 3x3 wide angle) are dead easy to take though at the moment can only be viewed on camera or in the Mimo software (IOS/Android) My pick though is exporting these Pano/Wide Angle shots will be high on the developers list of must do's, let alone the keen app writers out there looking for an opportunity.FWIW the Pano photo's are in a separate folder on the Micro SD card and could be stitched together with Photoshop or any similar editor.Accessories are not too expensive, though at the time of review have not reached retailers.Interested to note the overseas Auction sites and other sources have heaps of accessories available now so they are picking the Pocket will be a success.Overall I think the Osmo Pocket is a nice balance between size, performance and price. For Pro 'A' roll use your Osmo Plus or DSLR on a Ronin would probably be better, but then having removable batteries, mic inputs, headphone and video outputs, follow focus adaptors etc goes way outside of what the Pocket is about .For small discreet, Vlogging and B roll filming it can't be beat. For the keen amateur / semi pro it is just so much easier to use than a Smartphone/ Action camera to get that shake free video. For Poppa videoing the grandkids, so dam simple to use.

The DJI Osmo Pocket is a compact and portable camera gimbal that is designed for vloggers, travelers, and anyone who wants to capture smooth and stable footage on the go. Here is a review of its features: Pros: Portability: The Osmo Pocket is incredibly small and can fit in your pocket. This makes it easy to take it with you wherever you go, and it is perfect for travel vlogging or capturing footage while on the move. Camera quality: Despite its small size, the Osmo Pocket has a 12-megapixel camera that can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second. It also has a 3-axis motorized gimbal that provides smooth and stable footage, even when walking or running. It also has a built-in microphone and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. Accessories: DJI offers a range of accessories for the Osmo Pocket, including a wireless module that allows you to connect to your smartphone and control the camera remotely, as well as an extension rod and a waterproof case. Cons: Battery life: The Osmo Pocket has a relatively short battery life of around 140 minutes, which may be insufficient for longer shoots. Limited field of view: The Osmo Pocket has a narrow field of view, which may be limiting for some types of shots. Expensive: The Osmo Pocket is more expensive than other pocket-sized cameras on the market. Overall, the DJI Osmo Pocket is a great camera gimbal for vloggers and travelers who want to capture smooth and stable footage on the go. While it does have some limitations, such as the short battery life and narrow field of view, its small size and excellent camera quality make it a great choice for anyone looking for a portable and easy-to-use camera gimbal.

I don't know where to start talking about these two miracles,.... I am a YouTuber and I searched for a long time before buying these two cameras, each of them has special capabilities. The small one is very light, the , designed for outdoor photography, is very resistant to vibrations, and I only feel the rotation of the selfie, as for Sony zv1 , it is amazing. A lot, but it is a little heavy. I find the Osmo lighter and more comfortable outside. I put it in my pocket quickly, but for indoor use, the Sony is the best. It was designed primarily for vlog . Its sound is great and it has a face filter as well.

A must have for the amateur (or pro) movie maker

It delivers great video quality and cinematic steadiness for such a small product. It is so easy to take anywhere and put in you pocket (needs a cover to protect the lens and gimbal mechanism). The app is ok to create quick videos but you will need a lot of space on your phone as the 4K files can get big. The WiFi module is great to control the camera from your phone and also see the video on a bigger screen. I have also bought some ND filters to go with it and the videos are even more cinematic. Its not an extreme action camera though as the gimbal mechanism seems fragile but for leisurely bike rides and walks its more than adequate. All the accessories can be a bit fiddly to put on and take off due to the size. Another brilliant product from DJI
3 January 2019

I have been following DJI for sometime. Seeing the DJI Ronin and some of the early products, the company seemed to show potential. They really outdid themselves when they launched the Mavic Pro drone, a week after the launch of GoPro Karma, and totally killed a seemigly good product by stretching the limits of drone and camera technology. They then went one step further by making the DJI Spark drone. This is brilliant innovation from a less known Chinese company. The DJI Osmo Pocket is a smart product that basically combines DJI's existing technologies in an extremely attractive package. I got this camera the day it was released (purchased on Best Buy - wanted it immediately lol!) and it continues to impress me by the power it packs in such a tiny package. Apart from shooting true to life 4K videos you can take great pictures, effortless Pano shots (finally someone made taking a Pano seamless), Super wide angle 3x3 shots, Timelapse and most unique - Motionlapse. I sold my Sony FDR X3000 and GoPro Hero to get this camera and I don't miss them at all. This is not an action camera (may be if you really want to use it, you can) so if you are about mountain biking etc. a GoPro may still be better. But for everything else, this is THE BEST.Pros:-Unbelievably stable Videos in 4K-Motionlapse (no other camera of this size does that)-Seamless Pano wit 3x3 mode-Face Tracking and Object Tracking-Amazing App that makes uploading to social media a breeze-Recent updates with thoughtful touches like turning the gimbal in resting position for ease of keeping in caseCons:-Pictures look grainy in low light, still better than other cameras of this size-Facetrack does not turn on sometimes, needs switching off and on again-If a Panorama shot includes extremes of lighting on either side, pano shots appear with gradient lighting - looks stitchedEdit (Adding below section after 20 days of use during an international travel trip):I would say now I have used the camera for a decent amount of time to know it well. It continues to impress me. In addition to pros mentioned above, I am blown away by the Mimo App and its video editor. I am a Premiere Pro user and this app makes video editing such an ease. I was able to quickly make a decent 10 min video of my 15 day trip using the DJI Mimo app within the 3 hours of my return flight to Los Angeles. The same job would take more than 12-15 hours on Premiere Pro (of course you get lot more options to use in Premiere Pro) but this is the best video editing phone app. I would recommend people use DJI Mimo app for video editing even if they don't have the Osmo Pocket. This is a brilliant device.Reading some of the reviews, I think most of users have bought this without having a USB C or Lightning connector - when product page clearly mentions that it does not work with micro USB (which in my opinion is a smart move since micro USB is a standard that is slowly being phased out) . Other reviews mention that app does not work - yes, it is a video processing app, it won't work with slower processor phones - upgrade your phone before you buy a $400 camera.

Great little video camera!

Went with this over the GoPro Hero 7 Black because we were looking to make travel videos more than action/adventure videos. I was a bit worried about the durability and ease of use since so many reviews talk about all the setting, having to connect a phone, etc.Took this around for a few days in Germany/Austria and it was a champ! It's of course not as rugged as an action cam, but if you're not throwing it on the sidewalk in the rain it's perfectly fine. Settings are intuitive after 15 mins of fiddling around, and it's incredibly easy to pull out, turn on, and start shooting within about 5 seconds. It lives up to the "pocket" name as well. I ended up literally keeping this in my pocket (within the included shell case) while walking around, so it was readily accessible for everything. And the final footage is incredible! I'm not as skilled yet (and have not purchased lens filters), so still shooting with mostly Auto setting in 4K/30. You absolutely can make stunning, cinema-quality shots with this thing. But even as a quick point-and-shoot the output is great. This is a video I shot in FPV mode, 4K/30, Auto shutter/exposure, camera just wedged into a pocket behind the seat (haven't bought any mounts yet): https://youtu.be/Ta4G4QxQmMgOnly cons I've discovered so far:- You can't store the camera in the included shell with the controller wheel attached. This meant I just didn't use the controller wheel - but then found I didn't really need it.- Mics/sound could be better. It's actually quite alright for amateur videos and not as terrible as the youtube reviews would have you think. But it IS very easy to accidentally cover up one or both mics with a finger and when that happens, you can definitely tell.- Nothing to do with this actual camera, but I wasn't prepared for the size of 4K files. Buy extra memory cards!

Lightweight Little Gimbal Cam is a heavyweight for Travelogues.
6 August 2019

Purchased for travelogue shots, I stuck it to the windshield to get the dash cam effect. It was vibrating so badly because I had it sideways, that expected no usable footage at all. What a shock when the footage came out pretty stable. I'd agonized over using different stabilizing technology, but motor-driven gimbal just made sense; figuring I could tweek it with the editing software. This review does not allow video, so I can only show some shots I took by accidentally pressing the on/off button twice. The shots are good on 40" monitors. The secret to getting the clearest picture quality available to your monitor is to not go through your phone, as one might expect to do. To get the clearest pictures onto your computer: remove the phone adapter from the camera, then attach the camera charger cable to your computer USB Port. Download the photos the normal way. This camera is everything I bought it for, and I'd love to show it in action. I think that for fast moving shots as a dashcam, one should shoot at 60 fps, which the camera will do. Go ahead and buy the 256GB micro SD card - it works fine. I'm taking the world camping to Sequoia with me tomorrow and over the weekend, and this cam will be the star of the hiking trail - it really does what I want it to do. You can tell I'mwalking with it, but it is very smooth using the motorized gimbal. Gotta go to bed now, I wake early to leave on my trip tomorrow early. The pocket cam will be on my windshield, and a constant companion on the trails. it is So convenient.

Refurbished Osmo Pocket is as good as new ! It is smaller and more lightweight than I was picturing. I plan on using this to document a motorcycle trip in a month. Easy to use by hand and in a mount. I'm not crazy about the phone connection. I don't like any weight hanging out of my charging port. I just traded in an older phone because my charging port was porked. I will find a USB C to USB C cable to use instead. Overall, very happy !
