I ordered a skein of white floss and a skein of black floss. When my order came, it was laying loose in the bottom of the bag, dripping wet. They were in a bag with suave hair spray and drano. I didn't know what was on them and decided to dry them. When they were dry, they were both very stiff and there is no way I could use them. I discovered that the bottle of hair spray had a small hole and the liquid was laying in the bottom of the bag. If the floss would have been in a small bag, and hadn't gotten wet, I could have used them.

Great thread for cross stitch. This has been my salvation during Covid! Making lots of presents for people I love as simple as book marks and ornaments to themed pictures with sayings about the beach, wine, or place! And Michaels has great reasonable frames to complete the project! I gave something to each of the women I had been gathering for over 16 years for happy hour. Made each personal about something they loved like boat, grandma, golf, Maine and wine! Everyone loved and was so touched! Next up themed ornaments for church baskets: coco Irish Mets baker ! Love DMC!

DMC is the best embroidery floss, hands down!
14 August 2022

I am new to the art of embroidery and discovered that all embroidery floss is not alike. I stumbled across DMC floss in recent years and feel it is a cut above. First, there are hundreds of colors to choose from. They graduate in color intensity from light to dark which allows endless creativity when it comes to shading, drop shadows or gradients incorporated into your project. It also comes in varigated colors. Second, there are many finishes available from shiny to matte. Third, my experience so far is it is easy to separate the strands and to work with... snarls, knots and tangles rarely happen.

Embroidery floss to make all dreams come true

This one particular skein of embroidery floss was the most highly sought after color in our home of homeschooled creative kiddos. Mama wanted to use it for a birthday project for a family member. Sister wanted to use it for her first ever independent embroidery project. Brother thought it would make the perfect color in his WW2 tank embroidery project. Yep you read that right. Our son thought this color would perfectly define the features of a PC3 J1 tank. No “bless this home” project. No cute puppies looking at you from a basket. Tank embroidery folks… this one skein was fought over in the aisle of the store, in who would hold the bag on the way out, who would hold it in the truck on the way home and where it would sit before it was used in literally ALL the ... MoreThis one particular skein of embroidery floss was the most highly sought after color in our home of homeschooled creative kiddos. If there ever was a color of embroidery floss I undervalued as a whole- it was this one.

Excellent Floss - Terrible ONLINE Shopping for it!
8 August 2022

DMC Floss is the Classic Cross-stitch floss I've used for over 40 years. So glad I can find such a great well-organized selection at Michael's.The only problem I encountered was checking for specific colours ONLINE. These kinds of items should be searchable by their individual ITEM NUMBER ( DMC 3033 or DMC ECRU) rather than grouping them together so that customers have to go through multiple Groups to find which Group has the exact colour they are looking for. It was frustrating and time-consuming.

For Your Enjoyment With Love
3 December 2021

The floss I purchased was used for a Bucilla Christmas Stocking (Forest Griends)for a great granddaughter. I had been using two threads on most ofthe stocking when I probably onlyneeded one thread but I wanted tomake sure everything was secure.I have used DMC floss for many projects over the years as I love needlework. At 81 my eyes aren’t what they used to be but I am not leaving old age win!!!!! Another great grandson is due in March and I have a very cute bear Christmas stocking kit I hope to begin on after the new year. The Bucilla Forest Friends took me months to complete but each stitch has lots of love in it.

Out of my color!
27 February 2023

I usually buy floss from Michaels for counted cross stitch. There was a particular DMC color I needed and when I went to the correct bin, I saw just one left so I picked it up. After paying at the register and going out the door, I took a second look at the floss. It was not the correct DMC number. OOPS!! When I returned to the store, the cashier graciously allowed me to double check for the DMC number I needed. Unfortunately, there were none that matched the number. Apparently, someone previously had put the wrong floss in the bin and I picked it up. I also noticed that some of the other bins had misfiled floss. Oh well, I did get my money back, but then I had to go to another store.

Pros and Cons of DMC threads.
10 April 2022

Pros: there are many, many different colors and different shades, so it can be difficult NOT to find the color you need for your projects. They are also smooth and easy to work with, and don’t have random lumps and knots in them like some cheaper made threads. They give a smooth neat looking finish at the end of the project.Cons: they aren’t super durable, and can wear out and break sometimes if too much pressure is placed in one spot for too long. One such spot is where the thread is rubbing against the eye of the needle. Another downside is that if you start a project with DMC threads, you can’t mix with other brands of threads so easily. Even if the thread color is the same number, the shade of color is always slightly off.
