DOM Pérignon Champagne Vintage 2010 (France)

In the $50 plus price range, I prefer Veuve or Perrier Joet, over most champagnes but I tend to stick with what I love. Tattinger for $25 for a regular more reasonable champagne. If I want top top… it’s Dom P, although there are many other French champagnes less known that are truly amazing. Try to find the champagne that is in a box with its own scissor to help open it. A traditionally delicious vintage champagne.

I no longer drink champagne like I used to. But the 1996 Dom Perignon was by far, the best. Yes, it was a pricy bottle. But for those special occasions, you could not go wrong with this vintage. The bubbles were light, refreshing. The taste of crisp Granny Smith apples. Even someone who doesn’t drink, nor appreciate champagne could appreciate the crisp taste of this dom. I loved it. I miss it. The flavor was impeccable.

I’m going to start off saying I always tell people it’s who you know. Walked in to my favorite liquor store today and the owner said hey I got something for you. He went to the back and brought out this 2002 Dom. I bought 6 bottles from him years back and have asked him a few times if he could get more but never came through. Today was my lucky day!! This is hands down my favorite champagne. Very tasty and I’m not really a champagne or wine guy. Worth every penny. And no I don’t wait for a special occasion every day is special. You only live once enjoy every minute of it. If it’s good enough for James Bond it’s good enough for me lol

This champagne is pretty much the pinnacle of quality and luxury. For a special occasion this is absolutely something you can indulge in and be confident you’re having the best of the best. Regular champagne (from France, done in the traditional method) is a treat as well, but this goes the extra mile and is made with the greatest selection of fruit and has spent longer on the Lees (aging in bottle) which gives it more complexity. The thing with vintage champagnes (meaning from one single year) is that flavour profiles can vary from one vintage to the other. But rest assured that a vintage champagne is only made in the best years. Worth the money? That’s an individual choice. Dom Perignon is a brand at the end of the day, no different than Louis Vuitton. All It Is Built Up To Be

You have heard of Dom, reader; and there is a reason. However, this is one of those rarities that deserves all the press, praise, and prestige it recieves.Total Wine associates will try and steer you towards a ‘Winery Direct’ bottle, because they have their marching orders, but, even if you do not listen to Me, listen to the thousand of references throughout history that have crowned it world-class.Is there a better Champagne in this world? Certainly, but there is a reason *this* is the flagbearer for sparkling wine.You cannot go wrong with Dom.

Beautiful glass etching, odd character midline

Ordered a custom bottle to memorialize the occasion for a new partner at the office. The gold etching looks amazing on the dark bottle of Dom. The loss of one star is due to the fact that the design who set the type did not adjust the type properly and the tilde that separated the word“Partner” and “2023” was way above the mid-line and ruins the look a bit.

Generic

I bought this thinking it’d be special some way or another. However, I was wrong. This champagne, amongst others, taste exactly the same. Whtehter you buy Korbel California champagne or this $190 champagne, it all tastes the same. I was very disappointed. Okay if I’m spending $100+ on a bottle, it better taste different than the rest. This wasn’t the case. Don’t waste your $$$. Buy a simple, cheap California champagne and you’ll be drinking the same thing as if you were to buy this bottle.

Great service

I had had a hard time finding a bottle of Dom Perignon in Connecticut but finally contacted Total Wine. They sent me the newest release (2012) which I had not found anywhere else. It shipped very fast and came well packed. The cost for shipping was lower than I had seen elsewhere and the bottle was competitively priced. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Not worth the premium

I've had plenty of Champagne but Dom Perginon is legendary and I wanted to give it a try for a special celebration. When I went to open the bottle the foil was stuck to the glass and it looked like the bottle had leaked at some point, but the cork had made a tight seal with no indication of drying out and no mold was present so I wasn't worried. My first impression with a freshly chilled bottle was "this is sour." I wouldn't have picked the bottle out of a lineup of other $20 bottles of brut. As the bottle and glass started to warm up a bit there were more layers of citrus and lees that you'd expect out of a typical bottle of brut, but it was nothing out of the ordinary and still quite sour.
