I mistakenly believed this product would work as described. From the start the 12v cable car cigarette lighter plug was intermittent and now does not work at all. I also bought a separate back-up battery but the same cable does not work when plugged into it. The 12v cable for the battery pack works when plugged in. I returned to the store (Coffs Harbour) and was told they cannot help me; no one wanted to even come out to the car so I could show them the problem. I was told to take it to someone who is their designated warranty guy (a private address). He has covid and can't see it for at least a week. I have a car fridge that doesn't work in the car and have received no help from BCF.

An ideal unit for travel and at home. Perfect for storing cold drinks at home. No more using valuable refrigeration space. No more opening and closing fridge door. Uses minimum power which probably counteracts the power used by refrigeration unit when the door is being oened and closed. One problem with instructions - they should state to hold the on button down for a few seconds. Would save a lot of angst.

This is the first camping fridge I've owned and could not be happier. I have just completed 4 weeks travelling the Gulf Savannah and far western Qld, with daytime temps rarely below 35C and several days to 40C. The fridge performed well, maintaining the set temperature seemingly with ease i.e. it did not seem to be constantly cycling as some of my friends "better" fridges were. No issues with it frosting up either. I chose this fridge as it had pretty good reviews, I did not 'need' a fridge with all the bells & whistles, and I had a limited budget. Very happy with my purchase.

After I bought this car fridge we went on the road to Coober Pedy, fridge in the back of the CX9. I found the size to be the sweet spot, both for weight, physical size and capacity. I was easily able to lift in and out of the car (with the food basket removed), it didn't take up too much room in the rear, and held a surprising amount of food and drinks. The design of the lid opening from either side or off all together was brilliant, I do think the other opening from the short side from one end would be a real disadvantage. I was also impressed with how fast it gets to temperature, I had it on 3 degrees and it got from 25 degrees to 3 in about 10 minutes, amazing. Now I just have to convince my wife to use it for daily trips out and to the shop etc, she wants to reserve it just for road trips.
I bought this fridge a couple of weeks ago on a really good club discount. I've had it running in my house non-stop since as a beer fridge and also took it away for 3 days camping on the beach. For the price I paid, overall I'm very happy with the fridge, it keeps things cold, has an inbuilt LED light and useful touch panel, multiple charging options (AC and DC), a protective cover and it doesnt draw too much power, having run it off a 40AH lithium Ion portable battery (Companion Rover) for several days. I'd have given it 5 stars but a couple of things I don't like about it: the protective cover opens in the middle outwards to the sides which is fiddly and time consuming and also makes me doubt how long it will last before it rips, i'd much prefer if it opened the ... Also a few screws on the compressor cover have been screwed in crooked and were sticking out, so not the best care was taken when assembling it. Theres been alot of these on sale recently so perhaps it was just a mass production run and they were slapped together quickly. Anyhow, all things considered and for the price, this is a great entry level fridge sure to satisfy any weekend warriors budget and requirements.
Purchased about 12 months ago and is an awesome fridge with good temperature regulation, low power consumption, and automatic changeover from 240v to 12v when mains power is applied. Unfortunately, reliability is an issue. The main display is now unreadable, no biggy as I use an Engel wireless thermometer to monitor temps, but the compressor now makes a loud !BANG! noise when it tries to start a few times throughout the day. Not so bad if you're driving down the road, but a bit startling at a campsite in the middle of the night or as you're about to fall asleep. BCF have done their usual thing and referred me to Dometic repair centre so I will contact them when they reopen after the Christmas break. BCF have done their usual thing and referred me to Dometic repair centre so I will contact them when they reopen after the Christmas break. If dealing with the service agent is not straightforward, I will remind BCF of this clause in the ACCC consumer guarantee legislation: "A supplier of goods cannot refuse to help a consumer by sending them to the manufacturer or importer." Page 19 of ACCC document "Consumer guarantees - A guide for businesses and legal practitioners" Would I recommend this fridge to a friend - no, unfortunately. Hopefully the reliability issues are solved with the newer (more expensive) models.
I have been a fan of Waeco/Dometic fridges for years, having owned a 40l CF and 65l CFX in the past and more recently a 95l CFX3 for my caravan. The 40l CFF was to retire my 65l unit in my car, which was now too big for the needs and restricted by rear vison mirror badly. The CFF 45 is low profile, yet fits full size wine/soft drink bottles standing up. The interior is all full useable as either fridge or freezer, even the shallower section above the compressor, since the cooling coils are all the way around the inside. This makes the useable space not much less than the older 65l. Probably the best feature of this fridge over most others, even Dometic branded, is the dual hinged lid, making it easy to open from either side. Great for fridge slides in 4x4s and ... There's no bluetooth or wifi, but for less than $20 you can buy a remote frisge thermometer if you want to keep an eye on it from a distance. There's a lot of cheaper brands around for the same or similar sized fridge but the epace of mind you get with a Dometic logo on the lid the extra cost is worth it. In fact, for the price it represents good value.
I bought this fridge and cover pack in September and just got to use it for the first time in a 5 day camping trip. I am impressed that this relatively small fridge/freezer can hold a lot of food and no space is wasted. I bought a small wire basket that could just fit the space above the milk/juice bottles in the main compartment for small items (yogurt, fruit) to save me from digging from the bottom. I am super pleased with the power consumption. We left the fridge in the car and it was connected to a lithium battery all the time, which allowed me to work out the average consumption, which is 0.5A per hour (25 degrees ambient temp, fridge temp set at 4 degrees, opened the lid about 5-6 times during the day for quick retrieval of food), much lower than the stated ... It is easy to clean. The protective cover is good quality too. The other bonus that I discovered is that there is a 12V two-pin plug hidden in the cigarette plug, which apparently provides a much secure connection to my battery and frees up the cigarette port for other devices such as LED lights. I don't think we will camp without this fridge/freezer from now on.
I had my fridge just over a year. I was at first stoked as it was perfect for me as a solo traveller. However, 6 months into it the one side of the LED screen stopped working (got replaced under warranty) and in between the fridge always seemed to reflect not the true temp inside, so I bought a thermometer. Now the fridge mother board shows its -23, but the thermometer reads 9 degree inside the fridge. Have just submitted another warranty to see what the issue might be as it comes with 3yr product warranty and I must say I do like the fridge, so hope it could either be replaced or fixed under warranty, as it sems I just got one of the lucky faulty ones.
After weighing up the dometic models, figured on this one as the optimum spec. As the CFF45 and 35 have the same compressor/motor and very similar electricity drain specs, I opted for the slightly larger model. As wanting a fridge adequate for one, for constant use, for life on the road. When first turning it on, we couldn't work out whether it was working.. it's that quiet. It is audible, had to lean in to check though. Generally the highest rated portable fridges on the market across all the buyers guides I read, with the Engel brand coming in a close second. The Dometics are just unmatched for internal vs external dimensions and running economy. The included fabric insulating cover could make accessing the lid easier, the lid opens either side, or comes off ...
