You are a monarch, like your parents before you, a ruler of a small pleasant kingdom of rivers and evergreens. Unlike your parents, however, you have hopes and dreams! You want a bigger and more pleasant kingdom, with more rivers and a wider variety of trees. You want a Dominion! You will bring civilization to these people, uniting them under your banner. But now, something’s afoot. The steward smiles at you like he has a secret, or like he thinks you have a secret. There are secret plots brewing, you’re sure of it. At the very least, there are yours. A passing servant murmurs, “The eggs are on the plate.” You frantically search your codebook for the translation before realizing he means that breakfast is ready. Excellent. Everything is going according to plan. Dominion Intrigue 2nd Edition is a strategy game that is simple to learn and fun to play, and comes with some changes from the first edition. Six Kingdom card types from the first edition have been replaced with new ones and some other cards have been rephrased, with the exception of the Masquerade card in which it now skips players with no cards in hand. Dominion Intrigue 2nd Edition also features 26 Kingdom card types that is compatible with the base game, and a rewritten rulebook containing rules for playing up to eight players at two tables or for playing a single game with up to 6 players. Dominion Intrigue 2nd Edition is a standalone expansion that works as a base set and can be played with the original Dominion game. All non-stand-alone expansions for Dominion can also be played with Dominion Intrigue 2nd Edition instead. Dominion Intrigue 2nd Edition is recommended for 2-4 players, ages 14 and up.
