Doritos Mild Salsa DIP, 300g

I dont usually use dip with my chips, but every once in a while Ill purchase one to try. This dip actually made me go back and buy another jar Its really good paired with the nacho cheese Doritos

Although this product bears the Doritos name and was no doubt created primarily for people to dip Doritos into, in my opinion it is an excellent alternative to real sour cream as an accompaniment to things such as fajitas and kebabs. Real sour cream is similar to regular cream in the sense that it has to be kept refrigerated and only lasts a few days. Unopened, this product does not need to be refrigerated and will last several months. Admittedly it has to be refrigerated and consumed within three days once opened. Personally I prefer this product to real sour cream, partly because the chives make it more flavoursome and partly because I find it less rich and sickly. Whilst the purists will no doubt deride it for not being the genuine article, the bottom line is that it provides a perfect cool, smooth and flavoursome contrast to the heat and spiciness of the other fillings, whilst being less sickly and more practical than real sour cream.

Glad to got to try this free as I am not a fan of sour cream dips. Didnt like it and my husband wasnt fussed either. Not sure whether I would prefer this to a fresh one. Cannot say more than that. Handy to have a jar in cupboard though as it has a long life.

I like this dip. Not as much as I like the salsa but I think thats just personal preference. I feel his is sometimes a little too sickening after a few sips, over all the flavour is lovely

I love sour cream and chives, and I LOVE this dip. Its a little hard to find but it is a wonderful product that isnt too pricey. I usually eat this with regular plain chips and not Doritos but Im sure it would be good with them

Love this flavour dip. I found it worked very well with several different flavours of doritos. Good size jar to keep you going very nourish. Compliments the chips nicely

If it was good, why break it?

They changed the recipe and now it tastes like ****. It's spicier and more acidic, as it now has vinegar and coriander among other things. I had to throw out the last 3 I bought. Makes me want to vomit. Why do all good things come to an end?! Thanks Doritos for ruining nachos for me.

If you want tomato relish try this

We like tomato chutney/relish but rarely find one. A jar of this mild salsa fits the bill & disappears fast. It's tomatoey & tasty. Piercing the lid with a TINY hole gets it open. We stick a touch of tape over to keep it sealed for what turns out to be the short time its stored.

Impossible to find decent salsa in the UK

Let me start by saying this salsa is nothing special. It is however impossible to actually get decent salsa in the UK. I've bought every type available here and been disappointed by them all, that said, this is the only one I still buy for every day use, I normally keep imported salsa around when possible. It packs a nice kick unlike all of the other "hot" salsas on the market. Chunks of tomato, onion and pepper abound.

Too much puree

I found this salsa to have too much tomato puree giving it a taste that was too sour rather than more ish. Normal salsa dips were a better accompaniment to doritos (and often better value!) than this doritos salsa.
