Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Cream Bar 4 x 90 G

A few years ago I noticed that using fragrance on my nether regions created issues for me, so I switched to this bar. My grandmother always used the pink bar with moisturizing cream, but I was advised to specifically use something without scent, so I chose this. It's fantastic. It's still a soap, but it isn't overly drying. I actually like to use it all over my body now, largely out of convenience's sake. One thing I've learned recently: a recent study suggested that some ingredients in soap found in this and other soaps by Dove and other brands (specifically, lpha-isomethyl ionone, lilial, ally heptanoate and 4-tert-Butylcyclohexyl acetate) may be more attractive to mosquitos, etc., so it's not advisable to use this while camping or hiking. I have noticed in the past that bugs seem to like the way I smell, and I think avoiding it during those times is helpful. What else? It's always available in a multi-pack and I purchase it since it regularly goes on sale, which makes it an economic choice. It even works as a facial cleanser when a regular one isn't available. And finally, its minimal packaging (simply a box to recycle and a slim piece of plastic film to dispose) means it's a more environmentally-friendly option. Win-win!

I will preface this by saying that I had used this on my kiddos prior to swapping out most of our products we use on and in our home with non tox products. That being said I did enjoy the lathering, quality and cleaning of the skin cleaning agent in Dove sensitive skin bar soap. My kiddos have eczema and while this didn’t seem to help necessarily, it also did not irritate their skin which was a HUGE win for us! Lathers nicely and effortlessly, seemed to work more efficiently than any other body soap we tried and leaves that squeaky clean skin we all love . Definitely appreciate the value for money, and love that it comes in larger packs for much more reasonable prices. CON: for me at least, the scent is unnecessarily potent/overpowering! This dove sensitive skin bar is 1/4 moisturizing cream. It has no perfumes is hypoallergenic so it is fragrance free. It’s really good for sensitive skin. I highly recommend it if you have sensitive skin and it’s also great for women as well for feminine hygiene no perfume or dyes or colors or anything like that so it is perfect and does the job and gives you a very thorough good cleanall of the extra stuff added. It makes a very good leather. The ingredients are clean and it’s simple. I love it. I always make sure I have these bars in my shower along with my other shower, gels body, scrubs, and bar soaps as well.

Dove was the first thing that popped into my head as "good" bar soap, so I bought the fragrance-free two-pack. Not only does the soap work wonders for that issue...it doesn't leave behind that bar-soap feeling! The moisturizing element really works, and the lather is rather luxurious. It does have a faint sort of nutty natural soap smell, but that's to be expected, and I actually quite like it. Then I discovered that it's great for washing my sensitive face without over-drying, so I use it on non-makeup days in order to preserve my more expensive face wash. Then I discovered that this soap does a pretty solid job at removing makeup itself! THEN I discovered that it cleans makeup brushes like a dream and leaves them super soft afterwards! Then I discovered that with the moisturizing element and the slippery suds it makes, it's effective as a shaving soap/"cream". Then I realized the fragrance-free aspect is great if I'm planning to wear a perfume that isn't a part of my Bath and Body Works collection and I don't want a clashing body wash fragrance. I thought the two-pack was going to last me forever but the first bar I opened up two weeks ago is about a third gone already. This soap slipped into my life and took over...Can't see myself going without it now.

Been using Dove body wash for a number of years now. I think after I turned 30 or 35 is when I noticed that my skin gets dry fast than usual. I’ve tried other products including Dove and voila! I found it! I alternate the body wash and Dove bar soap. They are priced just right unlike other expensive body wash I used to use. Too much perfume that leaves the skin dry I think. Dove body wash and bath soap have nice, clean scent, it moisturizes the skin leaving my skin soft and velvety after shower and all day! I never worry about getting my skin ashy when I forget to put lotion on because my skin is hydrated enough from Dove that no one can tell if I had lotion on or not - true story! Highly recommended!

There's absolutely no fragrance or scent. It has a rich moisturizing lather that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and clean. I do not feel that my skin is stripped. I like that this is hypoallergenic specifically for sensitive skin. Also, it’s inexpensive and that’s always a plus. I found these to be the only positive things I can say about this. Although it claims to be fragrance free, there’s still a scent but just a very light, soapy scent. I just didn’t really find this to be beneficial other than it being safe to use— but no skin benefits such as leaving my skin soft and moisturized. However, it didn’t dry it out more. I think this is a great option for those with very sensitive skin and just want that really clean feeling. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who is also looking for their skin to be softer after using. If anything, I would recommend following up with a good hypoallergenic, deep moisturizing lotion after using.

Best cleaning for people w/allergies to sulfates!

My grandmother always used Dove and as I got older I started using it as it a bar of lotion/cleaning awesomeness! Now any time I use anything else I get some horrible pealy soap scum if I don't use it. Dove has a wide variety of different bars for people with different skin types as well as different scents to choose from. I am disabled and sometimes I can't get in the shower to clean. I use this bar for bed bathing too as again it has lotion which keeps my skin from drying out. Thank you so much Dove for all the wonderful products that y'all have shared with us over the decades! My children know about this as we pass down our info to the next generation and their family!

New bad scent?? Formula change?

I'm a long time user of the Dove exfoliating beauty bar. It exfoliated, it moisturized and didn't dry you out like most other soaps and it smelled great. But after running out of the last of the 8 pk I bought make months ago (it lasts, too) I night a new pack and when I opened it and used it I noticed a weird somewhat rancid smell after the initial clean scent and it lingered. Had to return the opened package. Clearly the formula or production method has changed and the smell is no longer pleasant. Please change it back or check the stock in case this is just a big bad batch. I'll need to find an alternative bar for now.
