The soap works very well as a shower or bath bar. Nice suds, very light pleasant scent, and nice for the skin. It also works well enough for shaving - it does the job. But instead of a nice foamy cream or gel, it only covers the face in a thin coating. So, you don't have to keep rinsing to get the cream or gel off of the blade. You might be able to get a full shave with one rinse! But it is not as much "fun" and it does not feel as smooth as a regular cream or gel. You may like it but I feel I get less of the shaving experience. However, it does work and it is much cheaper than buying shaving cream or gel. Since I bought it principally for shaving, I rated it a 4. As a soap alone for bath and shower, I would rate it a 5.

Buying a bar of soap is a personal care product, no review can tell you if you will like it, you will be allergic to it, you won’t like the fragrance, etc, only buying it and trying it can do that.I have used Dove soap since my mom used to give me a bath when I was a tyke. In reality there’s not much different about it except for the unique shape and their claim about having cleansing cream. I thought all soaps were supposed to clean? I think this product is very similar to other formulations of Dove soap with built in skin care moisture care, except designed to appeal to those men who might feel that ordinary varieties of Dove soap with skin cream are too feminine. I’m not sure because the current variety of the green Dove soap I bought is smooth, but I seem to recall that an earlier purchase of the product contained some grit to enhance a scrubbing acction for really dirty skinfrom workr. My current green tinted Dove bar soap just has an aroma that probably some men will prefer to the Dove bars scented with feminine aromas. I do feel more masculine buying it instead of the regular Dove I had been using. Reviews onits scent are very mixed — some like, some don't, but there are enough I've read that say it's another overpowering scent and more than one said it reminds them of something grandma would have, and that's enough for me to avoid it.)One more thing: I don't know about other Dove products or other products from its manufacturer, Unilever, but at least with this Dove Men's product, they list it as "cruelty-free" on the package with the bunny insignia. Very good thing and I hope that sets an example for other corporate giants who make health & beauty products because you usually only find that on small manufacturers like Toms Of Maine.

Short lifespan of bar

I like the soap in many respects. As claimed, the soap rinses off relatively easily.The scent is fine with me, I don't find it too strong or 'overwhelming'.I have to agree with those that find the bar of soap just doesn't last long at all, the least number of showers 'ever'.What is most frustrating is how the bar breaks up into small pieces way too easily and unlike any other soap I've used.In what might've been the last straw, I dropped the half used bar of soap in the shower and it broke in half.
